I was able to play just fine last night, but this morning I get a page I haven’t seen before. I don’t know if this is talking about FB in development mode or WU. I tried to uninstall FB and WU apps reinstall WU with no luck. Am I the only one with this problem?
I was hoping to pick up more severe foundables before the BE started but FB login said “Not Today!!” 😩
I really hope this gets fixed before BE tho. If it is a 4 day only event, this login bug will only shorten that time more before the new adversaries event. Fingers crossed 🤞 Sending focus energy to the WU gurus for a quick fix.
@RobGobe it says it's already assigned to another account when try to log in using the FACEBOOK EMAIL ADDRESS? - that means you've already created a (pokemon go/ or whatever game) account using your facebook account. try to just login instead of creating.
PS: Sorry for the caps lol, it's just very imported and wanted you to notice that part xD Can you try to explain things with as much details as possible?
for example:
I did, it didn't allow me to because it says it's already assigned to another account.

@Youshallnotpaz So, my Pokemon Go account is linked to Gmail already. I tried to link it to Facebook account (the one I have my Wizards Unite account linked) and said it's linked to another account. I tried logging into Pokemon GO with the Facebook account and says it doesn't exist, so that's not really helping.
@Youshallnotpaz - I can't use my google account to log in, because it just routes to an unrelated account that was created against my google ID last year at some point by accident.
@cosk62 I tried that too, I literally used a new account and got the same issue. I appreciate the suggestions, though. I'm not sure why Pokemon GO says that there is an existing account but when trying to open it as an existing user it says it doesn't exist. I tried creating a new PG user with new/old accounts and still getting the same issue. Seems like I need to request the deletion of that Gmail account in WU but still not sure that's gonna work.
@RobGobe - sounds like i'm in the exact same boat. I created my PoGo account under my google account, and (naievely) created my Wizards account under my FB login, and it's now impossible to do anything in terms of consolidating or enabling cross-logins on either since it recognizes them as two completely separate accounts.
@Drakar2007 yeah, seems like we may need to link them through a different method like AppleID but that's not gonna be feasible until we actually get access through the FB account.
@RobGobe do be careful with deletion requests. IIRC deleted accounts get on the "black list", you cannot create another Niantic account with a gmail that was once deleted.
I'm not getting an error message, but the game won't load, keeps asking for my date of birth, and when I click to log in with Facebook, the screen just flashes.
(Facebook, itself, is working fine. I'm on android, Samsung Galaxy S8.)
To rephrase it, you can't use your google account to log in to Harry Potter (this step it not required).
You need to:
Log in to pokemon go using the <<Facebook account>> that's linked with harry potter.
Go to settings or wherever to add Google as a backup login method.
At which point you may get a notification like @RobGobe that says your Google account is already linked to another pokemon go account. If it does, follow next step (4th)
Just try linking with a different google account lol (I just made a brand new google account for this purpose)
I'd stay away from deletion stuff as you may end up deleting the wrong account by accident

You're trying to login with FB as existing player. No, just <<Create a new PGO account>> using your <<Facebook account>> and then follow the steps I shared above to add backup login methods.
Note:
It doesn't have to be your main Pokemon GO account
It can be ANY google account for backup login method
I appreciate all the tips and workarounds, but I don't think it's good game experience to have the user jump through so many hoops just to get to their game
@Youshallnotpaz did that too and got the same issue. A newly Gmail created account said that the account already exists, which is pretty much impossible. What I did was create a new Pokemon Go user with my Facebook account (went through the tutorial and all that), created a Gmail account, tried to link it to the Facebook account in Pokemon Go, says it already exists. I really appreciate the suggestions, but has this been confirmed to work?
I agree with @Indigofera, it's pretty hard to believe that it's taking so long to fix this issue. The error seems to be related to the developer setup to link the app with Facebook login. So, did someone forgot to renew a certificate?
The method @cosk62 mentioned on page 1 worked like a charm for me. I had not linked Google before (should have done so after the last hiccup, lesson learned just now ..)
Installed PoGo, created an account with FB, linked it to Google, and could get into WU just now with Google login.
I cannot login in using facebook. I click on the icon and nothing happens. I tried logging in using google but, it starts me at level 1 as a new player
I haven't been able to log on using Google for almost a year, despite repeated submission of trouble tickets. Since Facebook isn't working now either, I am 100% locked out of the game.

@RobGobe it does not quite reset the progress, it may create a new account. You can try to crate a new gmail to link it to your real Niantic account.

@hermioneeowynp you don't need to play another game. Just install it, use it to link to another authentication method and delete that other game.

Same issue here, FB just keeps spinning and kicking me back to the birthdate page.

@RobGobe it sounds like your FB account is already linked to another gmail. Could it be a family member? Or maybe your 2nd gmail?
I think if you create a brand new Pokémon GO account with your FB you'd be able to see the gmail linked to it.
Edit: Maybe not. If you could see it in Pokémon GO you should be able to see it in HP:WU too. 😕

I am having the same issue here too. With the event starting in 10 minutes it is disappointing that we still can't access the game
