SUGGESTION: Add Owls and Howlers to send gifts and messages to friends
I would like to be able to send gifts to friends. I was thinking the developers could create an option to obtain a personal owl, either by earning special coins through an event or challenge and using the special earned coins or regular coins to purchase the owl of your choice from Diagon Alley. Then your owl could send gifts you obtain to your friends.
Also would like to see an option to send a howler to friends. The sender would voice record the message that when received, the recipient would play the recorded message (and the senders voice would increase in volume) and add a feature that if left unopened for too long (maybe 24 hours) it would “explode” (receive a notification “bang”). Howlers could be sent to one friend or to a group...it could be any message you want to send; could send to your friends to meet up at a fortress. It should have the capability to select and choose who you want to receive the message.
The sender could even have an option to choose when the message would explode by....if wanting to meet up at a fortress by a certain time, then select time to open by. Receiver and sender receive a notification that howler exploded. This would let sender know that their friend didn’t open the message, so if it was to meet up, sender will know the friend or friends that won’t be meeting up.
These additional options would increase interactions with friends!
After reading All the suggestions I like allot of them. Pokemon go has an amazing balance of items from pokestops/gyms and the need for those items. Spell energy is like pokeballs Except that its taking Waaayy more spell energy then we can replenish in any reasonable timeframe without a go plus or a dense restocking area(gold gyms give plenty for your efforts.. fortresses dont give items) There are a couple of solutions and many reasons for this.
Solution 1. A new potion that grants you an energy refill of x amount.. Ingredients to be found in challenging ways and in remote locations.
Solution 2. Give an small energy boost for each foe defeated in Fortresses.
Solution 3. Have potions last for more casts and carry over to the next encounter OR Have each potion produce X amount of Doses for each batch brewed
Solution 4. Increase spell energy or gaurenteed spell energy from greenhouses and from Inns in very low density areas.
I understand the need to make money. The trick is to make it fun and accessable so everyone can enjoy playing and not feel useless or embarrassed if they cannot afford to pump up their energy every time they run low. The game uses wayyy too much energy. And having to buy more on the spot can be very embarrassing.
In Pokemon Go i have spent $0 on healing or pokeballs or incubators or gear. I have spent a few hundred dollars at least on Raid Passes. The Energy Drain in this game needs fixing before the game looses more players and makes it less fun for the ones that want to spend the$.
Agree with a lot of these points but especially the tracking your walking while not in the game, especially with the long distance port keys for the events. There are just so many times that it's not possible or appropriate to have the game open while walking around.
Major issue with the multiple countries achievement, think they said they might be removing it because of it. Visited Wales the other week and I'm not sure they'd be very happy to discover that the game doesn't count it as a separate country to England....
The thing with not sharing the profile pictures too. What's the point in being able to customise it if you cant show it to anyone!?
I would love to see some of the times changed on Greenhouse plants. 1H, 7H, and 24H makes it hard to play after work, when 7 hours will result in a drop sometime in the middle of the night.
All great ideas! I think my number one thing that will keep me from quitting playing is to NOT have to use spell energy in Fortresses, OR reward with spell energy after the wizarding challenge is over come. I live in a rural area and we only have one place in town that has inns close together, and even then there are only 6 of them in the square mile. I have been spending way too much money on Gold for spell energy because i like catching foundables AND doing fortresses, but I have to buy spell energy every day.
PLUS most of the fortresses i find in town besides the one area i referred to, do not have ANY inns around them. So i get out of a wizarding challenge using 30 spell energy and have nowhere near by to reup even slightly to continue catching foundables. I would happily spend five dollars a week on this game but with the brilliant event i have been having to spend 2-3 dollars a day to keep up with spell energy and the fact is, I am going to have to quit playing eventually.
Excellent suggestions! I have another, that may have been mentioned, as I didn't go thru all replys:
When you click on a map ingredient, or receive one in any way, and your vault is full, it would be nice to have the option to manage vault then so you may keep the new found item. Having to go out and manage vault has cost some items I would have preferred to have, simply because I didn't realize my vault was full before collecting.
I agree, @RileyReign - It's not as bad when it's an ingredient on the map. It's extremely bad when it's an ingredient from Portkeys. You literally have no choice with portkey rewards. Either you lose the reward, or you have to pay money for expansion. We need to be able to access our vault at that point and delete what we don't want as bad.
What a thread! Took me awhile to get through it all... Perhaps they can add Energy to Portkey activities, say in batches of 10, and multiply like the rest. Just a thought among many awesome contributions.
I hope the developers at Wizz Unite take note of what is listed here, they really need to do at least half of this .... was hoping latest update 2.0.2.0 would have implemented some of this... sadly not though ! Also to your very good list it would be nice that the different variety of Inn's would have more than just Spell Energy...usefull magical items to use for example and there definitely needs a sort out with the seed growing at greenhouses.... there should be 4 individual pots allowing 4 people to grow different plants, a Codename / Level reached should be shown on each persons pot visible to others regardless how far... similar to what is shown in PokeGo Raids ! Notably longer times when this item is available to harvest, at present with the just one nameless pot etc the social aspect of a communal greenhouse is totally missed... there is little of yet Socially to make Wizards Unite to be quite frank ... just loads of people giving code mumbers without knowing realname to codename & area makes especially among strangers really hard and to make matters worse they have put too much content and complexity at launch not considering a fair few people may not have played Pokemon Go which would make it more overwelming to put players off . VERY MUCH HOPING A GOOD PERCENTAGE OF WHAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN HERE BY US BOTH GETS INTO THE GAME CONTENT IN THE NEAR FUTURE OTHERWISE IT WILL JUST FLOP THROUGH LACK OF ENGAGEMENT BOTH SOCIALLY AND GAME CONTENT !
I also find it curious that Incomplete Spells use energy. Energy is used when you complete a spell, so goes the animation. Yet with an Incomplete Spell, you don't even see your wand which leads me to think no energy was really expended if my wand wasn't activated. Surely changing this mechanic could provide some energy relief to wizards all around.
Love the comments & update suggestions. I would like to see broom flying as a skill, possibly in Quidditch. Challenges like the tri-wizard tournament. Bring in more from the books like, goblins & the house elves, especially Dobby, maybe St. Mongos. Change the country achievement to state or territory.
@ZookiTabooki I disagree. To me you try but you fail. None the less you used effort or energy for said spell. That being said, I feel like an incomplete spell should only count towards your energy pool and not towards the departing of said confoundable.
I would like to second @Craeft idea of the vault size increasing each time you level up. I spent 200 of my hard earned gold to increase my potions vault, it was just an increase of 10 which filled up right away. There does seem to be an imbalance with the vaults. I paid coins several times so I could create a potion to fulfill my daily tasks, yet my ingredient vault was full. The vault filled up after only a few days of playing. I guess I need to figure out what ingredients I need for the spells I am using and dump the rest, hopefully I can find ingredients that I need. I really dislike the current vault system since it seems to be essential to game play, at least to complete daily tasks.
I still enjoy the game, this is just a point of frustration for me.
This is getting to be a very long thread...and I'm going to make it longer!
@RineGilbert Adding Owls to the game for sharing with friends would be awesome. Also use Owls as an option to deliver some of what you planted in a Greenhouse.
Love the idea of being able to share items (potions, ingredients) with friends, or sell them to Diagon Alley for gold, or even exchanging/bargaining what we have for what we want - I'll give you five bitterroot for two wormwood.
@LilyWeezly Spell energy refill when leveling should have been a no-brainer for the programmers.
also @LilyWeezly I also like the idea of incremental vault size increases to go with leveling, but there's going to be an uproar if players lose the increases they've already paid for, so Niantic needs to be careful if they decide to implement this idea.
@ZookiTabooki@Caeleon I disagree - failed cast should both cost you energy and time before departure. You spent the time and effort but didn't do it right. Do, or do not - there is no try. ;-)
@Craeft yes, give us a notification that some part of our vault is full. There's notifications for everything else, after all!
In another thread, @Crogabattoir suggested floo powder - yet another in-world travel item that could get us to inns.
@Craeft again - Yes, please let potions last across foundables!
@Zorastro completed Portkeys should also indicate whether they came from Brilliant, Precious, etc. Portmanteaus
No PVP, please. I'd be gone, too.
We need a way to suggest spots for inns/greenhouses/fortresses. It would be a way to add a spotlight to places important to the RL community.
When I unlock a portkey, give me the option to go back to the map instead of forcing me to the portkey page.
Pepperup Potions for energy!
The profession expertise page needs more details on what the Stats affect, instead of me having to tap through the tree to find it.
Clear the profession tree notification when we go in to look at it. I'm saving books for that thing that needs 22, I'm not going to spend it on the item that needs 7 right now.
Wow... @LadyLapis thank you for the consolidation!
I disagree on the PVP or at a minimum a true PVE where everyone has the opportunity to secure an area against the calamity for higher rewards but we cant all agree on everything.
Thank you, @CytopeAchen, though consolidation wasn't my intent so if I didn't mention your idea, feel free to give it another plug!
As for PVP...I'd rather see more cooperative elements than competitive. Whichever, just don't hinge a requirement to advance in the game on playing with/against another player.
For those who don't see a lot of traces...I wasn't seeing them much at work or at home. Then I recruited my wife and a co-worker, and I'm seeing more traces at both locations. I'm guessing that some part of trace presence is based on player presence. So if you live or work in a trace wasteland, maybe try recruiting more players.
We have ingredients and a cauldron. How about allowing people to cook food to assist people with energy issues. This alleviates the running out of energy in a wizard tower as well as issues with players in more rural areas to help stabilize their energy in between the times they can get to inns. Personally I would love to cook some soup. Frog brains stewed in reem's blood with some ginger root and garnished with some sneezewort. Am I right?
A few suggestions here too, help us save Real World resources :
I don't often use the Shop, but who needs animated icons? They do not add much to the experience.
Why do we see so many Ministry memos flying on the map if they're so rare as a Foundable ? And outside of the British Ministry, they don't make much sense. Remove them, save some resources.
The three-card-monty game inside the inns and greenhouses is useless. In Greenhouses, all pots look the same, and we have no idea what could be in them. In Inns, we know what is in there, but have no choice at all.
Shorten animation times for Foundables. We're going to see them hundreds of times, and some of them are far too long (looking at you, Tonks, and Bellatrix' portrait, but you're only two examples. You would also save storage space with shorter animations.
The rarity of certain items is jarring. I know the game needs to last, but somehow, the one Oddity you need the most of , the Doxy, is the one whose spawning time is the most limited. (Same with the Monster Book of Monsters on the Pumpkin Patch, etc.) And making SOS events depend on those especially rare foundables isn't fun. Maybe I'll try this winter when dawn is at a more reasonable time, but...
... apparently one of the next SOS events requires you to team up with other players in a Fortress. Ah. I've been playing for a month and a half, and still have to find a single other player. I know at least two exist because I've seen Detectors on Inns, but I have never met anyone. And without an in-game way to find people, it's going to be difficult, if not impossible. Not many people are going to check the forums (especially as they are in English and I'm in France.) So... not a fan of SOS progression being blocked because of a lack of local players (or, you know, because I'm a loner). "Community" doesn't really count since the only "community" part in the game outside of the Community Events is adding Friends to the list, without anything useful apart from an Achievement.
Could we have a Low-Resource version of the game at some point ? Make the map look like the Marauders', have Traces, locations and ingredients appear as stamps (paper or rubber), players' footprints only, and Traces encounters as woodcuts/shorter, simpler non-AR black and white photos, part of a paper report that would be submitted to Constance ?
"Picture of encounter"
Spell used
Number of casts, level of each, big fat rubber stamp applied once the encounter is done.
Yesterday, I was walking around in a group of about 50 people doing PokemonGo raids (many friends from the game). The community aspect, friends, in that game keep it thriving, I wonder about the community part in Wizards Unite. I like soloing and am not a fan of a requirement of grouping to progress, but making friends from mutual play is satisfying!
I’m curious if a minor change such as rare Fragments of a specific school were at a Fortress for a limited time.
Another idea could be a Community Day that features a school for both Foundables and Fortesses.
Perhaps something like the PokemonGo Wednesday raid hour but featuring rare foundables from a specific school (and extra energy refreshments in Inns).
The most frustrating thing about this game is the high percentage of low yield inns. To be specific, 3 energy is the most likely yield. I understand 10 should be more rare, but picking up 3 6-8 times in a row is EXTREMELY discouraging. highest probability should be mid range (5-7)
I also would like to know if all I do is plant toadstools, how come they NEVER drop at a greenhouse???? Why plant if there is ZERO return? Makes ZERO sense!!
There is a distinct difference in the three greenhouse pots. There is a scrawny plant, one with two distinct branches, and a more thriving plant. Whichever is at the top when you first enter is the one that had spell energy.
Check reddit for a better breakdown/illustration of the pots.
In inns, whichever meal is on the bottom right is the one you get, so if there are better options, maybe leave and reenter without choosing, to get a better prize.
@AnnalieseFitz - greenhouses were boosted in a previous update so that spell energy now is rewarded no matter which pot is chosen - 2 or 3 or 4 units of spell energy
I can say from watching my local inn that I regularly pull SE from, that is actually pretty common for me to get the plate on the bottom right about 80% of the time. Until I delete and reload the game, download new assets, or reboot and dump my cache. I've never mentioned it, mostly because I don't keep data. Just watching the pattern emerge over the last few months.
I would love to see actual data though to confirm 🤔
Wow, I just found this thread and read it all the way through.
I must give the HPWU Team credit for putting lots of these ideas into the game, like gifting, energy counter, fragment counter when confronting a foundable, and greenhouses giving energy....
@Bormacska about 80%? That is interesting for sure. I was trying it out today and I will say it was over 50% bottom right plate but definitely not every one. I honestly think it’s all random though.
