I am wasting TTD trying to get Young James. I have not seen a single 1 since the event started yesterday! I see more when it's not "boosted" and not needed to complete an event!
I'm in agreement with the rest of the group regarding Young James Potter. He is in hiding. I don't expect him to appear as often as the rest. He is rare, so should remain more rare than the other marauders. However, I've seen exactly zero. I only need one more wormtail fragment and six more Potter.
Often when I've had trouble finding event traces I can find them in the wild. Not this time. He is nowhere. I've tried TFTD and I've applied a trace charm to Lupin in hopes of coaxing him out of hiding. I even tried a trace charm on a Serpent to no avail.
I am appreciative of the abundance of Dark Marks. The spawn rate is significantly better than the all Adversaries event and while there are plenty of Peter Pettigrew, there are many others as well.
But where or where can I find Young James Potter??
Funnily, for me one TTD yielded more James Potters than I needed, while I'm still 5 young Wormtails short. Seems to be the usual terrible reliance on RNG that come with these events...
Several Tonics and walking around, obviously the event spawn rates are boosted, that's nice, but no chance to see a single Young James Potter in hours. Same for other players in my region. Something wrong? With every event, it's always the same problem, boosted spawns are limited to specific regions.
22 hours into this event and I haven't seen even ONE of the Young foundables. I don't understand how Niantic can continue to ignore problems people are reporting with the spawn rate. One can only suppose they don't give a dam*.
Okay I'm not concerned anymore about finishing the tasks myself. I have encountered 1 James in the wild, trace charme on it and bam! 2 more James giving 2 fragments each. Task over! But still, it may be hard for others less lucky. Also got a few Peter in the wild so this one should also be ok
It would be nice if the bonus portion of the task actually awarded you a silver hand fragment when you face a Pettigrew adversary. So far 1 for 3 silver hand fragment drops when I faced Pettigrew adversaries!
I've completed 8 Peter adversary chains in the bonus and have received zero silver hands so far. At that rate I'm not going to get 6, that seems a bit off. @hpwuteam
@dotsamantha It's just like the last adversary bonus task where you needed 6 Gilderoy Portraits. I think I went through at least 10 Gilderoy adversaries to get that one done, but my wife wasn't as fortunate. I think she went through at least 15 just to get that specific fragment. I foresee this bonus task being the same exact way.
I was assuming that Pettigrew and his two Guards would count 4 Fragments towards the 18 like in all previous Adversary events with parallel task descriptions, but that seems not to be the case, they only count 3. (I do have one extra from the chain where I got an unbelievable "wireless network error" (on my stable home WiFi) as I used a potion on the second guard and it was gone after I was forced to restart.
I feel like there is a big in the game. I've used 5 trace detections so far, and I've gotten 27 Sirius black, and only one James potter. Not sure how to finish an event if the game never gives you the required items.
I need two more James Potters. But many TTDs later, several out and abouts, 3 dark detectors later and I've got more Sirius **** then I know what to do with. Just two and I'm done. But at least I'm almost level 59.
young Lupin popped up from TTD and I had to use Trace Charm and viola! there is James and I caught this and other James popped, so I got this completed.
I can confirm that the trace charm on Young James Potter does count the extra charmed fragment towards the task. I found one and only one in the wild with no TFTD and applied a trace charm. A second Young James Potter was spawned and I quickly nabbed them both. Then, with my boosted trace charm, a third appeared. I completed the task with only seeing that one initial trace.
I’ve completed 5 Pettigrew chains and got 1 silver hand fragment. At this rate, I’ll have to complete another 25 to finish the task. Seriously?!? This is ridiculous!
Where have all the silver hands gone? Is it a bug? I've now done 9 Pettigrew adversaries from start to finish and only got 1 silver hand! Not ok! Perhaps they have all been replaced with Scabbers, as I've got 2 of those from almost all of the adversary battles...
@CheekyNiffler looks like you're unlucky finding silver hands peter pettigrew, try again to more finding adveseries. (I got 3 times silver hands because i'm lucky!)
@HYDRANGEAROSE - the free event trunk gives you one, and it doesn't look like any of the tasks give you extras, so if you don't have some already, it looks like you'd need to purchase one (which is garbage, IMO). They used to make sure the event gifts covered most of you needed so you didn't need to spend coins to complete, but lately I've seen this with the dark marks and my initial stock from when they first appeared is starting to dwindle quickly :/

For Young James, don’t forget to use a Trace Charm when he does appear!
The double fragments count (so I had 2 from a single TTD spawn and 4 from a single wild spawn, task done).

So far not a single adversary spawn other than using an EDM. What a fun event! NOT. As usual this event is shitty and not at all what it should be.

I'm now up to 9 Peter chains and zero hands. I'm not going to exhaust my entire edm inventory for this.

Up to 7 trace defections now, still only one James. I even got a Christmas Hagrid.
