Anyone else having trouble completing 5 Great spell casts in a row? I completed 3 in a row, but the game did not register the third. Yes I am sure there were three in a row. This happened more than once.
Dear Niantic the 5 great spells challenge will eliminate me from finishing this event. Keep up the extra difficult tasks and you will loose another player.
Utterly impossible to complete, I dont know how anybody can complete this task, I reckon thats it for me they obviously dont want me playing - its hard enough to get a great let alone 5 in a row, after 18 months of playing I could state that I have never achieved this impossible task. Going to walk from the game thats it for me
It is possible. Just keep trying. It took me a lot of grind but finally found the right kind of combination of different traces and spells. Good luck 🤞

These are all good tips and good feedback for the team! The task is meant to be a fun challenge, but since combat-based encounters break the streak, I can see how that is frustrating! We will keep this in mind.
My Wife and I are also Casual players but we do spend $$... this is ridiculous. i spent 3 hours and 200 energy just to get 4 in a row. This is unpassable. You know we are adults and have a life outside of this. This is too difficult and I will not finish this one.. 1st one since it came out. FIX THIS TODAY
I will not be able to finish again because of the 5 great spells in a row. Couldn’t do the 15 from part 1 and had to quit. Are you trying to drive people away from the game?
Honestly, the 5 great casts in a row was easy for me. Just find one cast that you are good at completing with great or masterful. Run from any other traces until you complete the task.
With that said, even with that tactic, I had to assist my significant other with completing her task, as she has difficulty getting even two in a row, so I can see how tasks like this will end up frustrating a lot of players. 5 in a row is too many for a lot of people.
The 4 th level has 4 masterful spells. Not in a row, but still. How do y’all do them? I just leveled up after the last event and my go to spells for “masterful” are barely getting me a good rating at this point. I’m so ready to share any suggestions or secrets. @hpwulola: See, I feel like there shouldn't be any "challenges" in the core part of a BE. Basically, something can be "fun" if it is optional. No problem having challenges of whatever complexity in the bonus tasks, or other event tasks. Problem with having them in the first 4 task lists of a BE is that they are only semi optional (well, it is a game after all), because if you don't complete them
a) you can't complete the registry page for the event
b) you can't follow the story line (btw, bad decision to have the story develop in BEs instead of SOS tasks, where that actually belongs).
...and I feel these should be things that you should be able to get to with a very modest amount of effort.
If this happens again, I too will walk away. 5 in a row (and even 4 masterfuls in a short time) is simply ridiculous. Have done every (main) event so far since it started but not this one. What were they thinking putting this in the main part of the event thus preventing dedicated users from filling the registry page? It seems that once again the developers do not play the game or do not understand the majority of those who do. I am getting fed up of recurring glitches, derisory rewards (using ten exi potions to get 1 health restore?), meaningless 'delay' tasks such as large amounts of family XP, etc etc. I am a developer myself and sympathise but we have to test and act on customer feedback. I suggest replace the task immediately , move it to the bonus or give users another way to complete the page.
I was able to complete this task. It took about 10-12 tries, but it is was not that difficult.
At least of the 4 MASTERFULS it wasnt in a row. On the one event you had to get 3 masterful in a row and also return a number of quiddich Harry's. I cast 3 MASTERFULs in a row on a Quiddich Harry (swirl cast) and the foundable departed.

if you returned an oddity it wont count and will reset you back to zero. Forts as well. Try only non oddity foundables. If it wasnt that then idk.

@Lixli @Hobedogangsta and others with troubles completing this task: there is a trick! Works as well as in similar tasks in Pokémon Go:
Pick up a foundable. Turn off data/WiFi. Perform the spell.
Is it a great one? Turn on data/WiFi and it is counted for.
Not a great one? Exit the game, then turn on data and restart the game.
Try again.
It may take a while, but success guaranteed.
