I wondered this myself! Two stars happens when you’ve been here a week. Three stars happens when you hit 100 points. Four stars comes when you hit 500 points. Points are not equal to posts.
Well that’s the question! 😂😂 on my phone, the only place I’ve seen points is under the activity section, way down at the bottom. But that only shows the top members. Maybe it’s different on a computer or tablet....
Kinda sorta. I've posted one discussion, zero points, and yet I have 193 points per the activity screen.I'm on my work PC atm, and the interface is definitely different than my phone. But I still don't see where i can see my points unless I go to the activity screen. Maybe @Craeft can help with this. She's definitely better at forums than I am.
From what I've seen, not just posts, but number of "thumbs up" you receive affect your scoring. There might be some other things that affect it as well of which I'm not aware. But posting decent content and "likes" definitely affect it.
You can only see your actual point level from the activity screen.
I'm not exact on how the ranking system works because I went from rank 1 to rank 3 (skipping 2 entirely) so I really don't know where that breaking point is.
It would appear as though rank 3 happens at 100 points. Rank 4, I think it was 500 points that triggered it.
But in all seriousness, apart from getting the ability to post links (rank 3 - maybe 2, unsure on that), the ranking is just a measurement of your activity on the forums and not much else.
Seriously though - I didn't take that into account and that would be interesting to look into. Sadly, there's a lag time for the point system so I don't know how to properly test that.
Does @HPWUMicah or @HPWULola have any insight on this? It's not really IMPORTANT information, but it could be fun to know. :)
Until this very moment, I didn’t even notice that you went up to 4 stars @Craeft (lol). I have somewhat wondered about this subject myself...but I’m mainly just posting on topics that interest me and helping on others where I have an answer and can point someone in the right direction. The points are fun, but I don’t need them (don’t take mine away though) 😂
LOL @Overflow4487 - Same here. Personally, I think forum points are silly unless they are manually rewarded for a warranted reason. I'm just here because I'm here and post when I post.
I was just envious of y’alls ability to post pics! I wanted to know when I could do that. Granted now that I can, I still haven’t... But I’m fairly certain about the point level when you hit two, three, and four stars because I paid attention to that.
@Travahar community guidelines said a week. But yes, it turns out that’s not the only requirement. You also need a point on your account. Which it appears you have now from your profession discussion. And I see you’ve already posted a link, so yay!

And where can I check such points? O.o @Dogoutlaw

I think I got it. In your profile, in the discussion section there are your posts, and each post has points.
So, I guess the points are proportional to post likes. 🤔

I hope that answered the question. :)
I think when someone tags you might trigger another point, but not positive.
@Dogoutlaw if that's true then @Craeft should refer to @Craeft's post to understand what @Craeft was talking about.
hehehe

Apparently, I post a lot.

And @Craeft 😂😂😂 +1
Two stars happens when you’ve been here a week
My profile was created start of July. Just came back because I want to put my discord on the community map
Turns out I can't share links until I have 2 stars (yet still stuck at 1 star)
LoL @Travahar, you sure mentioned this in a lot of places to make sure we heard about it. 😄

How are we earning the points though? I am here for almost 2 months already i still don't get that 🙈
@Ve225 when people like (hit the thumbs up) your posts/comments, you get points.
Oh okay. Thank you @Dogoutlaw . You are really nice and helpful
😊
@Ve225 It would seem we also get points for substantive posts. I'm not sure how the algorithm works on that but it does seem to play a role.
I'm gonna level ya'll up then, because I thumbs up basically everything 😆
just hit 2 stars here - hard to believe already one week since i started complaining about 2.4.0 bugs, LOL (or COL)
