@IdByteU It definitely seems to help to complain. On another board I used to be on, they called it POP, Power of Posting. It's hilarious and a little creepy but it does seem like if I complain about a trace or ingredient I can't find, they suddenly show up. The only thing it doesn't seem to work with is Unicorn Hair! 🤦
You posted your opinion and I posted mine. You want Unicorn hair as gifts. I don't. I don't know why you think your opinion should carry more weight, but you are certainly entitled to express it.
The point I was trying to make is that I don't get near enough Snowdrop to use all the Unicorn hair I collect.
That's it. I mean no disrespect to you personally, but I would not want to see more Unicorn hair as rewards.
The last event substantially increased Snowdrop, but I also collected more Unicorn hair, so I'm still in the same boat.

Took me a almost a day for Angelina with 4 ttd... Eventually found that ttd were delaying the spawn and completed after ran out and 2 appeared.
The spawn rate of event foundables has been tweaked (it appears) to make this more tricky (longer).
The painful one is lavender brown - 3 returns. Wasted around 10 runes and received 1. I only have 2 left and as event runes take time to regain - this is going to be painful. Note - it doesn't help when 50% return no event XP, and 25% return - nothing! (is this a new bug)
If you wanted this rune task added (awkward order for this event) - maybe a bonus task.
Increase the % of lavenders returned - otherwise far too painful.
p.s. i know higher chambers have better % rates - but no spell energy is appearing and I have used a ton finish first 3 sets of challenges.
The Forest Chamber 1 have given a Lavender Brown fragment as a reward more often for me.
As for the Angelina Johnson traces, I hitced a ride when someone had an errand and gotten a few of them; walked a little and got more. The rest I got from TTD. I did a fortress challenge, then see if there is a LOH trace with the yellow light, and repeated the process until I got all of the Angelina fragments. It is a very difficult assignment but felt good when it was completed.
@ihadabustedlung, Perhaps you are seeing a ton of George Weasley? I am too. The problem of too many George Weasley and no Angelina Johnson was mentioned by @CeruleanGirl . @hpwulola has responded that Angelina Johnson and George Weasley are equally boosted, but that has not appeared to be the case from my perspective. One TTD netted me 2 Angelina Johnson. I've seen none otherwise, but George Weasley is always on the map. I don't really want to spend 3 more TTD and 90 minutes to finish 1 of 12 tasks.
@Kodokmag Angelina is that scarce for me. I've got 1-3 George Weasley at a time in my map and I've seen 1 more Angelina in the last couple hours. Since the event started I've seen George almost constantly. I am fortunate and get lots of traces at my house. There are 9 now, and 3 are George. Very strange.
I am definitely experiencing the same condition as @CeruleanGirl . I was finally able to complete the task with a two mile walk. TFTD sometimes brought zero Angelina but several George.
I even threw a trace charm on an Angelina to no avail. I didn't expect to see the bonus fragment count towards the task, but I did expect another Angelina spawn, which didn't happen.
More Angelina in the wild, but still just enough to complete the task.
I had few problems with Lavender also choosing Forest I. I am now finishing the Brew 8 Potions task to reach Bonus tasks.
Stuck inside most of this event due to weather so spell energy is in short supply for me, but still should be able to complete well ahead of schedule.
@Not4u13 I didn’t mean to imply that my opinion is worth more than yours. My point is that if you don’t need something, but lots of other people do, then isn’t it better for you to have too much than for everyone else to have too little?
Also, I was responding to what you said in your comment. You didn’t say that you don’t need Unicorn Hairs because you don’t get enough Snowdrops to use them, you said you don’t need them because you don’t use Potents. Those are totally different reasons. See, I don’t need Snowdrops, but when you tell me you need them, my first thought is that yes, wouldn’t that be a great reward for a lot of people! I would never hope for you or others not to receive such a reward just because I don’t need them. Obviously the ideal situation would be if both Snowdrops and Unicorn Hairs could be rewards! It doesn’t have to be one or the other, right?
I’ll hope for you to get more Snowdrops if you hope for me to get more Unicorn Hairs. Deal? 😉

In the bonus assignment, instead of just using potions in Wizarding Challenges, why can't we have the choice of using potions battling Adversaries, too. Isn't that a good idea for the next Brilliant Event?
Thank you very much HPWU team for giving us more Snowdrops on the map. I need them for the fortress challenges, and to stock up on Exstimulo Potions.
I have just finished a TTD, and didn't do any masterful spells. It is a good thing that I worked hard to finish the first 4 Special Assignments because I will need all this extra time to work on my spell casting.
I went the first 2.5 days of the challenge and 3 TTDs without seeing a single Angelina. I did see a lot of Fred or George (whichever one was stuck in the mud puddle.) But then I got all 6 Angelinas within the next half day, no TTDs. I assumed that Niantic had corrected an error that caused Angelina to have a very low spawn rate.
My problem is how do get enough Masterfuls. I don't mind difficult, but I've never managed a Masterful with anything other than Aguamenti and Meteolojinx. There's a fine line between Hard and Impossible, and Niantic doesn't seem to have a clue about it. I expect even Dumbledore would have trouble getting a Masterful casting Riddikulus.
@BionicManster maybe that's why they have Brilliant Hermione in this event, since she requires Aguamenti? Try returning a lot of her, it shouldn't be that impossible. I've had great luck on Finite too, just finished my last of the 10 Masterfuls on George Weasley.
Could we please move collecting 5 runestones back to stage 2/4? I had plenty of Rons from stage 1 and was collecting Hermione for stage 2. I got my 20th Ron and it forced me to go to the registry page. I had 4 stones, nearly 5, saved up for stage 3 and they’re gone now.
@ANewLesMiz That's why I am so thankful for @Owlx , who posts the tasks to be done for each event, so I know how many runestones I need to save for later stages. His posts also allow me to stage things ... for example, if a stage requires two TTDs, I tend to save the second one for the last thing I do in that stage, and use the TTD to fill requirements of the following stage.
@EPHedwig I appreciate the concept, but I have arthritis, which makes accurate spell drawing problematic. I can throw a Great cast about a third of the time, but Masterfuls are a matter of luck.
Niantic has never paid any attention to how complex a spell is, or whether anyone can manage a Masterful. If not even one player has managed a Masterful casting Riddikulus, that should be a sign to Niantic that the standard is ridiculously high. (And of course if you know of some player who has managed a Masterful casting Riddikulus, I'll gladly apologize to Niantic. Not holding my breath while waiting.) We saw this in Ingress, where there was no allowance for the difference between 2 segments signs and 8 segment signs.
However with 2 days of hard playing, I just finished my 10th Masterful, and it was Hermione.
@BionicManster I knew I needed to not go into the registry page but catching the 20th Ron forced me to go in there. If the runestone task were in stage 2, it wouldn’t be much of an issue. However, by moving it to stage 3, it is much more likely someone will be forced to use their saved runestones. It’s a cheap way to extend the event and it’s stupid to NOT catch a brilliant foundable during an event because it will penalize you for doing so.
@BionicManster for what it's worth, I've gotten masterfuls at least a few times on every spell. Obviously some are easier than others, and I've gotten lots more on those. This isn't to minimize the difficulty you may have, just pointing out that even if they are monitoring success rates of different spells, there won't be any that no one can do.
I'm sorry this task was such a challenge for you, but it's good to hear that you managed to finish it anyway.
@BionicManster exactly my point, 10 Masterfuls is not as impossible as it may seem given the traces that are boosted. And honestly I don't mind it being difficult since its just the Bonus Assignment and completing it isn't at all a requirement for the story.
As I said, there's a fine line between difficult and impossible. I'm not the only person who has a lot of trouble casting a Masterful. I'd rather we went back to doing a lot of high level chambers. That just requires persistence and potions, not luck.
@MtPollux I appreciate knowing that someone has managed masterfuls on every spell. I'd have bet that wasn't possible.
@WitchHiker I don’t see many Toadstools in Portkeys either. At least you can grow them, assuming you have access to a greenhouse, which not everyone does, of course. Luckily I am able to do that.
I usually have luck getting Unicorn Hairs in Brilliant Portkeys. However I have opened 7 so far and haven’t gotten a single Unicorn Hair. It’s very frustrating!
Yeah thanks Niantic. I had started playing this game more and more because of the ability to play it while social distancing and following local health rules. Now you have decided to alienate a big group of people who either physically (like me) cannot cast a masterful spell or their phone or software or wifi connection makes it basically impossible to do so. This will be the second event I will be unable to finish because of the masterful spell cast requirement. Also my disabled nephew was in tears yesterday as no matter how fast or accurate his casts they were still only good or great 😠. So again Thanks 😞
I live in out in the country and gave to have a cell booster so I don’t drop a call. I have tried everything to do masterful casts and cannot. Sad that it the only thing keeping me from completing the assignment. I will not be getting the DADA books that are so much needed.

Grammer alert. Twice in the conversations the wretched sentence construction appears.
Ginny and I's wedding.
Ron and I's relationship.
The pronoun you are looking for is MY.
I's is not a valid word, it is not a pronoun.
Please fix this, the writers look ignorant.

I do use Potent, just not as much as Strong.

@C4tmonster I was able to place her before this task but haven't gotten any since. Tried tower chambers and above. I think I got one so far.
looks like I’m right there with the rest of you! Zero Angelinas in the last 18 hours!

hadn't seen this mentioned, but i'm seeing a ton of freds, which i'm assuming are supposed to be the fred and angelinas

is angelina johnsonthat scarce?
my house which is usually dont spawn traces have been visited by angeline johnson traces, which is weird.

@CeruleanGirl Same with 🍄 in Portkeyes.
Use to get them occasionally, now it’s maybe once every 20 Portkeyes—if luck is on my side!
@hpwulola The 12 masterful spell task needs to go! I’m very good at spell casts and so far into bonus round, only task left is this one.
Have NOT cast a masterful spell this entire event!!

i just got 5 unicorn hair from my first batch (5 portkey) of this brilliant event portkey.
very generous. 🙂
thank you anyway, while my potent just sit in the vault with not much to use
