I apologise to the people I was playing with a few minutes ago in the Forest Chamber IV. I was having network problem while playing, and wasn't able to help out after the second foe. I will wait to play the high fortress challenges again after 7 pm when there are less people working. Maybe that will help.
Our January Adversaries Event is 48 hours long, ending January 21st at 11am PT. We had adjusted this to make sure Community Day and Adversaries Event did not overlap for any regions, but we forgot to update this in our comms. We apologize for this confusion.
Also, team is currently investigating reports of Edible Dark Marks lasting 15 minutes. We should have a fix in for this asap.
Major issues so far. I've had clocks and nothing on the screen, restarted phone and app, now I've been thrown out of 3 dark mark battles wasting 3 potions and about 30 spell energy.
Edible lasted only 15 minutes and only gave 3 Dark Marks. I was able to complete 1 but was booted from the other 2 after defeating the guard adversaries. Got the Wifi Connection error on one and no error on the other. Just hung and froze then booted me to main screen.
@hpwulola thanks for clarification re event duration. I’ll struggle to make the most of it/complete it given that it’s 48hours during the week. But I know others have raised this issue already.
Also good to know the 15min EDM issue is being looked in to. I used one and it only lasted 15mins. But I wasn’t sure if this was an event thing or not (I don’t routinely use them)
I couldn’t agree more with majority of comments above. Such a shame and an utter waste of money. Extending the event doesn’t compensate for the loss of several potions , fragments, lives and TIME. Utterly disappointing for an event I was actually really looking forward to.
An hour in and not a single adversary spawn yet! doubt i'm going to hit 15 horntails in two working days at this pace unless it is expected to be using a lot of EDM's to get through the tasks... It does feel the tasks are geared at a longer window than 48hrs....
at least I've managed to get one of the Wit potions gifts at the 2nd time of trying which compared to the last event is a result.
@aolcot the good news is that you don't need 15 horntails, you need 15 fragments from the horntail page. This means you only need to find 5 of them (well, assuming you don't get booted out by a connection error).
like **** it overlapped for NZ from midnight to 6am......who gives a .....................no one plays from midnight to 6am!!!!!!!!!!!! GIVE US BACK THE 1 ADVERSARY EVENT DAY!
@hpwulola Why didn’t you just move Community Day to Sunday? This would have eliminated the overlap and still gave us 3 days to complete the adversaries event.
ah how convenient they shorten the event time when there are so many issues nobody can even reliably play long enough to complete the tasks at the moment😂 just got kicked from a sphynx battle
I received a wit sharpening gift from an adversary and it didn't register on the event page. I had room in my vault. I'd played a bunch of fortress battles and hadn't received any so this one is going to be a slog if this is going to glitch.
@MtPollux ah yes! i mis-read that task.. thanks.. yes thats more reasonable seeing as these are on the tough side.. thats more doable in the time then... just hope my only wit potion gift so far wasn't a fluke!

Some of my buddies could not complete the last Event, because they have no chance to find enough whits in Fortresses and/or greenhouses...and now, we have not the time and have to work for our money.. working time without any chance to play...maybe a foreign word for Niantic, let's shortened the event... :-(
Seriously two days to get 15 dragons that don't ever show up? Fix the power issue, I am a maxed out Auror and my hit power against adversaries isn't as strong as it should be.
Here’s a huge problem with the current adversaries event. I get to the Horn tail and it immediately started attacking me I don’t even get a chance to throw a curse at him he’s constantly hitting me and knocked me out and it says I lose that’s not a very fair game people come on developers
I just completed the event, no issues at all. It took me 2 hours of playing time so it is doable in the 48 hours if you don't get any errors. I noticed the EDM was only at 15 but I didn't actually mind it because it still gave me the 3 adversaries marks in that time, so basically double the power - do that while you still can!!
@Groundwalker80 it's not 15 dragons, it's 15 adversaries of that set (guards included) - I only battled the dragon once and got beat so decided it wasn't worth the investment and was still able to finish that task in 2 hours. I did go for a nice walk and a bunch of them popped up along the way so try that if you're not seeing any.
I just need to say - I have NEVER found a witsharpening potion. I’m never going to complete this challenge let alone with the issues that are ongoing. 😭.
@EPHedwig mine lasted the full 30 min but only gave me 3 Adversaries, as usual. So I don't think they're double powered, just seems like some weird glitch some people are getting that delivers the same Adversaries in less time.
I actually wish mine would do that so I don't have to sit & wait for 10 min between each one. I also think it's ridiculous you can't use TTD at the same time. Traces rarely show up at my house so I have nothing to do in the game between the adversary spawns. But I basically have to sit and watch the screen because I get distracted too easily and if I leave the game, I'll forget to return.
On another note, has anyone actually encountered an ancient hungarian horntail? I have only used 1 EDM so far, but I have yet to see one.
Update: I just entered a hungarian horntail encounter, of course as soon as I posted my last comment, but was kicked out for no reason after 2 hits on the first guard.

I am almost done the event (still need to go out and find the wit-sharpening gifts) and have no fragments even though I completed the horntail adversary chains (at least 2). Someone suggested doing Forrest IV or above, so I tried that. Nada.

I am getting the message Can not connect to server right now. Frustrating as this challenge is only for 2 days.
Download assets. It took 3 milliseconds, and all the stuff came back to my screen. But I will not use the remote fortress.

How to lose potions for absolutely nothing. (On stable, home WiFi, if someone is curious.) :/
