Not working: Edible dark marks & Knight bus

The knight bus icon has disappeared and the edible dark marks don't work for me. I can click on one and get the green smoke animation, but it doesn't take effect and the inventory shows I haven't used it. Knight bus icon simply not there. Was working an hour ago.
I deleted the app and re-installed but this didn't help. I once got it to work by going into my phone settings and deleting something from there, but I don't remember how to do this or what I even did. I'm missing three chamber challenges to complete the 12 tasks of christmas, so any tips on how to get the knight bus icon back are greatly appreciated!

maybe just the GPS doesnt get a lock on location?
the potions (TTD, BBE) also not working to me when my GPS couldnt get a lock (aka our avatar wandering/jumping around)
and knight bus always give "could not load chamber" error.
I’m having similar issues on iOS version 2.16. I am at home and none of my POIs are loading. I typically have multiple inns, greenhouses, and fortress towers visible from this location. I also don’t have an icon for the Knight Bus and none of my gifts will display. Please help!
check gmaps do they say you are where youre supposed to be? there's a thing where if your location/region settings get confused they say you are elsewhere than where youre supposed to be in reality. IE: heard an example where some1's locations settings were saying he was in mexico when he lives in Houston, and thus he wouldnt see any POIs (inns etc) , spawns or anything else when he opened the game, I dont remember now the process to fix that, but its something in the region/location settings if youre in android.
Perhaps @HPWUblue knows? I think it was she who had told that other person what to change/how to fix that, if memory serves right.
Also a couple other things to check:
Method 1 – Check and Make Sure Location Services Are Enabled
The first method. This is where we will check and make sure that the location services are enabled on your Android phone/tablet device or not.
Follow these steps:
Step 1 – Go to “Settings” and tap on the “Location” option.
Step 2 – Tap on the “Mode” option and select “High Accuracy” to set GPS to maximum location accuracy mode.
Step 3 – Now, try to play WU and see if the failed to detect GPS issue has been resolved or not.
If it is still not resolved, then follow the steps mentioned in method #2 below.
Method 2 – Disable Mock Locations In Developer Options
Follow the below steps to find and disable mock locations feature on Android:
NOTE: If the “Developer options” is already enabled on your device then please start following this method from Step 4.
Step 1 – Go to “Settings” and scroll down until you find “About Device” option and tap on it. This option should be located under the System section.
Step 2 – You will now see a list of information about your device, find and tap on the “Build Number” 7 times and then you will see a toast message that says, “You are now a developer”.
Step 3 – Developer options is enabled on your phone. To check, go back to the “Settings” and you will see that the “Developer Options” has now appeared right above the “About Device”.
Step 4 – Tap on the “Developer Options”. There you will see a toggle button on the top and a large list of check boxes. Tap on the toggle button to enable Developer Options.
A new popup message box will appear that says, “These settings are intended for development use only”. Tap on the “OK” button to enable.
Step 5 – Look for “Allow mock locations” checkbox, it should be located under the Debugging section. If this option is enabled, then simply tap on it to disable mock locations.
Also, it is possible that in your version of Android, instead of Allow mock locations checkbox there will be “Select mock location app” option. Make sure it says, “No mock location app set”.

@Drakonite thank you for coming up with so many options! Avatar not jumping around and is in the correct place, though I have had that issue in the past ( not with objects completely disappearing though).
I tried method one (location services) but it didn't work. Will try method two next!

@Kodokmag I know what you're describing, I've experienced that before but I'd describe this to look more like the game not fully loading. As in I keep waiting for the inns, greenhouses, traces and knight bus icon to load, but they just never do. Never had this issue before though I have had what you're describing when the knight bus function ea launched.

I have the same problem. No inns, no greenhouses, no foundables, no ingredients, no fortresses on the map and no knight bus.

If I take a tonic, it doesn't work and tonic is back in inventory...
Tried turning off an on phone multiple times, de-installed app, installed it again, checked the location is OK, tried the steps above - still not solved.
Ingress and Pokémon Go are working...
@GatoRoamsround Looks exactly like mine! Mine also has the weather set as a default sunny like yours when it is actually snowing. GPS tracking works fine and is accurate when I move or am at home 🤔
Might this have somethig to do with this?

one -final- possibility, try this:
if youre in android and opening the game from manufacturer store instead of goolge play, try opening the game from google play and see if the problem persists, there's a similar bug to this called 'the android black screen' bug, which is resolved by either changing your language back and forth (in game) every time or by opening the app/game from gplay instead of manufacturer's store.
@Drakonite I tried both; launching the game from google play as well as changing the language, just in case. Didn't help. I'm so thankful for your help though! You've provided so much useful information and I'm so grateful even just for that! Thank you!
I couldn't get past step 2 of method two, though I suspect this is not an issue with mock locations as my location is correct and doesn't jump around. If someone gets this to work and it fixes the issue then let us know! :)
For me it's only the map that has issues. Suitcase content works fine (portkeys, potions, SOS training, registry etc.). I'm still thinking of the possibility this is a bug caused by the other issue they are trying to fix atm? Just hope it gets fixed so that I can finish the 12 tasks of christmas I have left 😅, wasn't anticipating that the game would stop working or I would have finished the challenges faster.
yeah, sorry I couldnt be more help, but from all the other reports on ppl having your prob. from other countries etc it sounds like a more generalised problem on HPWU's side which hopefully they resolve soonr rather than later.
