I don't buy the larger phone making it hard to get masterful. I used my 10" iPad. Did 30 spells, got 28/30 Great or better, of which 13 were masterful. Got two in a row twice. And I am not a major gamer. I am a regular player, but not overly so.
@Hoosierfan That’s interesting. I just know that on my old phone, I was getting Masterfuls most of the time on most of the spells and now I am only able to get them on the Finite spell. Maybe @SwampRatUK is correct then and resolution and/or sensitivity is also a factor, or maybe it has to do with the iPad just being a completely different device than a “larger” iPhone. I’m not sure, I am just giving my own observations. I am sure, however, that I haven’t just suddenly lost all of my skill at spell casting, and that the issue started when I got my new phone, so something is working differently and should be looked into. And although it would make sense that it has to do with screen size for the reasons I stated in my earlier post, I by no means have any definitive proof of that, just speculation.
@CeruleanGirl looking at the masterful casts I've had recently, they tend to land on the speed stage somewhere in the top quarter of the good section with a green cast taking it up through great into the lower reaches of masterful.
@hpwulola@HPWUTeam I just finished the event, it was fun and a bit clever but also disappointing in the rewards. I had over 11 potent potions and more than 11 unicorn hairs in my vault but it was an exceptional amount to spend for such measly rewards. I thought perhaps the portkeys would then give out unicorn hairs but I just opened them and I think in all the candy store portkeys I’ve opened there has only been 1 unicorn hair. Perhaps a future event that requires so much of a rare ingredient will reward more appropriately.
@CAELEON I agree with your assessment of the Knight Bus. It was great at first, but it seems people have stopped playing it. Maybe they are back playing in person with their friends (spreading the virus, or in a country that has beaten it back). But I really love playing the Knight Bus and would like to use friend codes or something similar to get teams together. I won't play on a team in person.
I can't finish the event because of the knight bus bug. 90 minutes after the event startet, the bug appeared and every time I open the knight bus, the game freezes and I have to restart the game. No chance for finishing the quests and getting the rewards... I'm really disappointed and hope that it will be fixed before the next event starts, at least.
this event is almost over, could we request to reduce difficulty level to maybe easy mode? 🤨
many of us have movement difficulty or is completionist, perfectionist.
so maybe we got less red dot on spell ( so its still okay if the spell looks very deform), or increase the time requirement for a complete spell stroke (or increase "cast point" so masterfull is easier to achieve)?
I would strongly advise that somebody at Wizards Unite run the statistics of how many players finished 11/12 tasks but did not finish "2 Masterful Casts". If you gave access to information about which devices players use (you may not), look for trends in who did everything except the Masterfuls.
Then NEVER EVER ask for sequential Masterful casts again. It's impossible for many players (and apparently easy on certain devices) so it's deeply unfair and if it ever appears in an early stage of a brilliant event, I will quit playing this game.

I enjoyed the event, thought the rewards were a bit measly at first (especially with having to sacrifice 11 potent exstimulo). But I was able to prestige several pages, stock on Picketts and Harrys so in the end I used the potents on them, didn't feel like a waste at all.
Didn't have trouble with the masterful casts, although I too thought it would be the most difficult task. I just left alone the music box foundables and other S shaped casts hoping two would appear at the same time and I could have a go at the task (I only get regular masterfuls on the S shaped casts). In the end I got a lucky masterful on a Pickett and went straight back to a waiting music box, job done on the second day without sweating about it.
I do however live in a rather well indowed spawing area, don't know if this strategy would work for rural players with one spawn every 30 minutes.
I finished earlier than I thought, been going to Dark V whenever enough energy for a shot at those rare wands while there's people about in Knightbus.
Could you please schedule Hermione Quidditch fan soon? It's the only one I lack to get every page a pretty silver shade.

I really enjoyed the Christmas tasks and the take-off on the song that you used.
After I completed all the tasks, I went on to gather more items from the Christmas page and moved from silver to Gold.
The masterful task was probably my most difficult because all of the foundables were completed with just one Masterful. But eventually, it took two .
On the other hand, my grandson who is at level 22 had a very difficult time with completing the highest level fortress. He had just got to level 68 ( the one needed for another task) and that one was very hard for him. Once he got that one, his highest became the next one and then again. He still only has two highest levels needed to complete the holiday event. He still has more than a day, so he will keep trying.

i finished, and it said i got 6 gifts, but i was already at 30/30, and was still at 30/30. was i supposed to send 6 gifts before claiming

@ChuckyKKloune Yes, it has been stated several times that when there are gifts as prizes, you have to have space for them.

People can't do this. To ask for two masterful spells in a row is ridiculous. This is going to have an adverse effect on my interest in the game.

I thought the event was fun and easy. I finished it in 3 days.
My only feedback is having more ingredients like bitterroot and snowdrop show up to make brewing the necessary potions a little easier.

Can’t finish the event due to lack of bitterroot and snowdrops and the 2 Masterful.
I had 2 Potent when I started and now have 8. I don’t want to use them on the event when it’s been so difficult to brew them.
I managed to make my first double Masterful just before the event started and thought I could repeat - but nope, not so far. 😉
