Adversaries Trailer made me think (Ideas)
From the email and the In-Game News we learned that something new is coming up.
Yay!
-ish.
Oh... it's battling again. We can duel legendary baddies.
To be honest, I am bored with fighting. I never liked it. I am a wanderer explorer. Hated stopping for minutes at the fortresses just to get fragments for the registry pages. And I hate Knight Bus without the "invite friend" option.
The Wizarding World has so many interesting areas. Fighting is just a tiny little part of it.
How about...
- ...adding the familiar feature? (Owl, Rat, or Cat. Needs food. Could bring ingredients, or restore spell energy/hour, or boost potion/spell. Levels up. Likes walking. Could deliver short messages to friends. Could be part of tasks.)
- ...adding book crafting? From the 20.000 useless scrolls I have can I please craft one or more Forbidden or Dada books? I don't mind if one book takes a month to "write". Just make some point of the existence of the scrolls and keep adding them for us.
- ...adding an option to craft gifts? One player would be able to craft one gift and open one crafted gift per month. Or you can send crafted gifts to lower level wizards. (To avoid slave accounts boosting the main one.)
- ...adding new spells? To make the "20 different spell task" sense. And please, don't be new attack or trace spells. We submitted some ideas already. Field spell that reveals the departure chance of the trace. Greenhouse spell that reduces the growth time. Temporary spell on the wizard to boost the trace spell / attack spell (like a light exstimulo). Temporary spell on wizard to boost the precision / chance for critical.
- ...adding new potions? E.g. Precision boost (on trace, slower perfection meter move, in battles higher chance of hit/critical hit). Or Restore Spell Energy. Or Fertilizer - TFTD but with plants.
- ...making sense of the selected profession more than just different skills in fights. Bonus daily task based on the selected profession. (Magi - X Magi traces, Auror - X oddities, Prof - X Hogwarts traces) Or bonus spell mastery against selected families.
- ...adding new encounter types, that is not a trace? E.g. Ministry of Magic encounter screen, in where the wizard need to prevent muggles to witness magical things by tapping on the magical items in the screen within X seconds. Or Magical Creatures encounter screen, which is a mini-HOG screen, in where the wizard need to tap on the Magizoology registry pages creatures withing X seconds. Or Quidditch encounter screen, in where the player need to catch the golden snitch. And so on.
- ... adding various, random daily tasks like POGO? (Cast X great spell, return X foundables from this family, or return X different family foundables, or brew 2 potions, or send X gifts, etc) Could be one task per hour that disappears, so it wouldn't be tied to inns/greenhouses.
- ...adding astrology to the game? Wizards would have star signs (could be fictional), and the sign would add subtle bonus/**** on their daily life.
- ...adding clairvoyance/fortune telling/future sight. It'd need ingredients and it'd tell the future -> spawn an uncommon trace or ingredient or spell nearby.
- ...adding actual portkeys that is used with a gift (gift loses its content) and transports the wizard to that inn/greenhouse/fortress where the gift was obtained from. Then they can use that inn/greenhouse/fortress as normal and obtain energy/ingredients or fight. Nothing extra, still would add a little Wizarding flavor to the game. And would be nice to fight with friends if they are in the same fortress the same time.
- ...adding broomstick flying skills (and different level brooms). So the player would be able to reach inns/greenhouses/fortresses in the visible distance. With basic skill and broom it'd be like x1 a day and short distance. The higher level the skill+broom the faster would be the cool down and farther the distance.
- ...adding transfiguration. We could transfigure for example x3 unneeded ingredient into x1 needed one. So unlucky players who did not see ingredient X for days still would be able to brew their beloved potions.
- And so on. And so on.
I know that most likely nothing similar will be added in the near future. Still it feels good to give out all the ideas from my chest. This game deserve more than new couch-and-combat-based features.
Thanks for reading.

Love so much of this!
Completely agree. Their approach to "The World of Harry Potter" has been very shallow and too combat-centric.
That approach is fine with POGO, that story all about combat, but not HP.
All of the buildings in Diagon Alley offer opportunities for immersion and game play, as do all departments of the Ministry.
Yet all we have is sticker collection and same handful of basic game mechanics rehashed over and over.
It's not a good indicator that this game will last with enough players to keep it viable.
Wow! Those are great ideas! I'd be happy if they'd just give us some added benefit for having multiple professions without switching. Like dang...let me **** a werewolf without using 20 energy. Lol. I'm not as creative!
Omg, the censorship of that sentence reads like I want to bed a werewolf. 😳 What I typed was to make dead.
I could edit it, but nah....
ki!!
