Ingress portal sync

It seems that since the UK and USA release , no new portal data is being synced over. Will this change in the near future? And has anyone figured out the S2 cell or if there even being used?

I noticed that too - it also includes portals that were live several weeks before global release - they're still not live in WU - so I believe they did a final import sometime just before global release.

I'm guessing it's just disabled while the release rolls out further.
