Dragons and Snatchers
So I’m going to ask, as it’s been bothering me.
Why can we take Dragons down in 2 hits, but it takes at least 4 hits to drop a Snatcher or Poacher?
And why are Death eaters also easier to drop than Snatchers?
Harry to Ron and Hermione
“Hey Looks we need to get out of this mess, quick let’s go through those Death Eaters and nest of Dragons to avoid those real mean looking Snatchers”
Hermione
”Harry, you do know that those Death Eaters are Voldemort’s closest, meanest allies? And seriously you can’t mean to take on that Dragon rather than face these Snatchers?”
Harry
“Sure we can, just two stupify each, should knock out those Death Eaters, and then a quick **** of the wand to drop the Chinese Fireball, no problem”
Ron
”Bloody brilliant! .... event?”

I've wondered the same thing, but maybe it's because dragons can't cast protego or imbue themselves with magical buffs? That's the only difference I can think of between the two which might explain that.
It’s more of a theme and immersion into the world than technical and mechanics issue.
Personally I wouldn’t mind if just taking one dragon down was an epic task, as long as the reward matched.
These foundables aren't the actual entity. They are fragments of the entity involved. Maybe because Dragons are so much stronger than Snatchers and Poachers etc., the Calamity can't draw as much from them, resulting in a weaker foundable.
Ooo good one
I doubt that any particular theorising participated in the amount of dragon hp setup. All oddities were easier to take out, that's it. Perhaps whoever previously set this up was realistic about the resources per oddity. I can't imagine new (ish) players with 75 energy storage being able to participate in a dragon event that would require a ton of energy.
The latest poacher/snatcher addition was a very unpopular change in the community.
But if they make dragons, let's say, 1000 hp each, this will take too many resources and will make even more people quit.
P.S. Maybe to do a separate dragons challenge on a hard mode, say, in a fortress where we can use our hexes and charms would have been fair. And the rewards for it should add to the general reward pool and not completing it shouldn't hinder progress or nullify it. It could be something separate altogether and not connected to the registry. People would have one more incentive to level up so that their strength is adequate to participate in it (we also need to have a new reason to level up besides unlocking SOS node levels).
The poachers and snatchers are well versed in the dark arts and are countering your spells with spells of their own. The dragons are natural creatures and have not developed the skill required to block your spell.
Ok how does that explain Death eaters less powerful than poachers?
it’s just a loss of immersion
just to be clear, I understand the difference between game mechanics and story and how mechanics are developed.
I just think a game is better when the mechanics have more connection to the story.
@WillDresden Using my Dragon situation, if Death Eaters are more powerful than Poachers, perhaps the calamity has less effect on them and their foundable is less powerful. The Poacher is less powerful so more of its essence is captured by the calamity and the foundable is stronger.
