This is another sad mistake in the long line of stupid things that Niantic puts on players. It's a shame that nobody at Niantic has any idea about the community and they don't care about their wishes. For me this time it is only the "ego" that I cannot prestige gold. For a new player, this means not even getting bronze and thus having less desire to gamble. Why buy bundles when they are for the bin? Thanks to the wrong decision with the fortress foundables! but I just see the good in it. I have more free time because I'm going to spend a lot less time in the game because it's pointless this weekend
If it was intended to make the magic of might statue and tom riddlers gravestone not aviable for fortres 4 and under, this event is a total fail as its not even avaiable at dark V.
Any chance to prestige that page at all , and its the traces thats boosted - so i would belive thats the page we should be prestiging has gone down into a dark whole together with the entire game.

I confess that even out of the event, there is usually an episode of madness. But there is always a phenomenal battle in which everyone works as a team. During today, I had a battle in which, everyone worked as a team, it was a very quick battle and it wasn't used the proficiency charm. It was the better battle of today...

Most annoying wizzarding weekend ever, no change to prestige the page because off the choice to up the wrong fortress foundable. And the tasks are hard because I seen about 40 Tom Riddles but only 20 Lord Voldemort portraits. So only the emergency and severe are boosted??
lucky for me it is clouded so lots of three headed dogs that made something of my trip around the neighborhood this morning.
Just wanted to add my comment of frustration here. I actually had enough of everything except the two fortress fragments to prestige the page to gold before the weekend, making this event basically useless.
This sort of thing needs to be very clearly communicated.
Sad state of the day.... i was diligently farming these 2 challenge foundables but stopped after I saw they were guaranteed in forest 4 and above. Little did I know itll change in 1 day to the event...
@Dragons1111 same here, i was trying to collect them to prestige my page to silver before the event started, got pretty close and since they promised it would be guaranteed in Forest IV and higher that i would wait. They then changed it so that only Knockturn Alley would be guaranteed in Forest IV and higher and while yes that sucks, it wasn’t a deal breaker as i would still be able to get the other fragments from the lower chambers it would just be a little more difficult but i was willing to grind in order to have an enjoyable and productive Event. The event starts and NOBODY tells us anything but through trial and error the players discover that they have made it completely impossible to receive these fragments for the duration of the event. This is absolutely the worst, most inconsiderate thing the @HPWUTeam has EVER done and truthfully they pushed away a dedicated player who has spent over $150 on the game at the least and not only will they never see another cent from me but they will also never see me playing this game again. Absolutely horrible communication. & horrible decision making. This event is absolutely useless without being able to prestige my page even one time, its literally a big **** You To the fans And loyal players. My disappointment is IMMEASURABLE & they will not even be doing anything to try to make up for this miscommunication. At best you’ll get a complimentary gift with some useless ingredients, i wont because i wont be playing this game anymore but good luck everyone with the future of deceptions and lies from a team that does NOT value your opinions or satisfaction. :)

I know it’s a weekend but they are running a weekend event, therefore should have at least one person monitoring the thread that is dedicated to this event! I have always tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that their intentions are positive, even if the results aren’t, but this is very poor customer relations.
Agreed with the other comments. This event is not worth much. The point of most of these events, including WW, is to grind, but there is no point in **** if we can't prestige the pages. I think the focus should be on 1 or 2 pages with all foundables from those pages having an increased occurrence. Everyone is in different places on each foundable in the registry, so this would provide equal opportunity and benefit to all.
I was one of those who read through the event description and tried to play by the rules as they were told to us.
Not letting us know that you were eliminating certain challenge fragments for the duration of the event is very unfair.
Had I known, I would have farmed them ahead of the event. Now I've got to grind away without even the prospect of getting a prestige of any kind. Ugh! Really bursts the joy out of the game.

It would be better if you could at least allow the other foundables in the lower chambers during these weekends. If the player doesn't need the fortress foundable, it kills the fortresses once people have the required number needed. I would still be playing the lower fortresses if this was possible. As it is, with tasks done the event is over for me which is sad. You have blocked all reasons for continuing because of poor planning. This should be a chance to prestige a page. Please rethink this for future events. Events you can prestige a page are way more fun than this event.
The bigger issue though is that information has been sent out to players and then changed. This has happened before. It is sending a message that communication from Warner Brothers is completely untrustworthy. Niantic has a bad history of ignoring the player base in Pokemon Go. Heck they do so little they don't have a forum like this which is unusual for games of that size. Most of the time I have been very happy with how Warner Brothers has run Wizards Unite. Maybe in the future if a miscommunication happens that benefits the players, just update the event before it launches. Because of the briefness of the communication, there was too little time to hit the fortresses hard enough to prepare for what I needed. This ruined the event and is what reminds me of the second worst feature of this game (the first being the abysmal practice of having regionals because most people can't travel the world to get them. I still have have certain pokemon because of Niantic's stupid love and idiotic thinking that their player base has infinite funds to travel with. ) Fortress foundables are the reason many pages are at the basic level still. At level 56, I really don't think I should have basic pages but I can only do so many fortresses. Ultimately, if there is a mistake in communication, it would be nice if you could just run with it.
It would also be nice if you could have a weekend just for the fallen ministry page. Please work on having more events that focus on the pages with the fortress foundables. I hope my words have been more constructive than argumentative.
While I sympathize with the complaints about communication problems, and believe it is the weakest part of the game problem, I'm having a hard time sympathizing with people who won't be prestiging the page at all.
Arguing that the game is preventing you from prestiging, when nearly every screen shot that's been shared shows that the only thing preventing prestige is fortress foundables that have been available for over a year, is disingenuous. If you cared about optimizing your prestige opportunity, you would have put green stars on the fortress foundables for that page and then capped them again before the event started to get the most bang for your buck from the increased availability of the rare world foundables. If you didn't do that, then you clearly don't care about optimizing, so why are you so enraged that the game isn't providing the optimal opportunity?
Furthermore, the Knockturn Alley sign isn't "useless", as many of you are complaining, because while you're also complaining that the 2000 family XP task is too much, placing the Knockturn Alley sign is worth 600 or 1200 family xp on silver and gold. That's a pretty huge chunk of that 2000, so it seems a far cry from useless.
I understand some of the anger over the miscommunication, but if you all step back and remember that none of the WW events provided unlimited prestiging of a page, and that any failure to prepare the page for prestiging ahead of time starts with the player and not the game, it might be easier to calm down.

I'm sorry you're having trouble finding Tom. If you're able, try going to the parking lot of a busy shopping center. In my experience there are always a lot of spawns there.
Been in the busy shopping center, used trace tonic, been walking around, used field charm on red glow DA traces - still nothing. From the encounters ( Riddle seen only 4 times), makes this mission impossible.
This has been a bunch of ****...not only are there no gravestones or statues, the traces that are being offered are almost impossible the catch, or have nothing to do with the event...Why are there so many Thestrals, and almost no Tom Riddles or Perceval Graves....When they do appear, the foundables will either depart after a first attempt, or you will use a ton of energy and the foundables departs anyway....things haven't been looking so good since the dragon weekend last month....used to be my favorite game...sigh...
This event is horrible! I’ve used so many TTD and I’m not even close with only 24 hours left. So frustration! Very sad time with Wizards Unite when we need something positive right now.
Fortunately, my DA pages are gold, silver and silver, top to bottom. The RNG was on my side to place images. Can't even imagine the time and resources required if not. 🥴 Tried one more TTD using my one Trace Charm and then a short trip in the wild with three Dark detectors (no DA revealed). Still can't get it done...down to Voldemort portrait and Tom Riddle. Pretty sure I'll make it and praying for a plethora of erumpent horns when I open my portkeys...
I see the comments of players who feel the FXP task is easy, and can be accomplished by focusing on the other tasks, which they apparently have no trouble with due to boosted spawn rates. However, it seems the spawns are quite variable. I'm in the same situation as the others reporting no spawns. I live in an urban area, normally have NO trouble with spawns, but today I still need 10 voldemort, 10 percival graves, and 3 tom riddle foundables even after playing hours every day and using TTD and trace charm resources. Not cool for the amount of rewards, and the lack of ability to prestige. Most disappointing event in awhile.
@enTrained I wouldn't say the FXP task is easy, but it wasn't as hard as I was afraid it would be. It sounds, unfortunately, like you are one of those players who is simply having unfairly bad luck with the spawns. It really is strange that in some areas, the boosting of event-related traces just doesn't seem to work. That's definitely something they need to figure out how to fix.
If it helps, I seemed to find most of my DA traces in the parking lots of the park and small shopping center near my home. I also found a lot in the lot of the local Catholic Church, which happens to have two greenhouses. TTDs didn't help hardly at all, I gave up on those pretty early on. Surprisingly, the Tom Riddle traces seemed to be the most common of the three needed for the tasks. The Portrait of Voldemort took me the longest because not only was it the one I saw the least, it was the most likely to depart.

There is a noticeable lack of high threat Dark Arts foundables to complete the October Wizarding Weekend event, even when using all manners of potions and detectors and walking to locate. Detectors seem to attract all varieties of higher threat level foundables EXCEPT Dark Arts. Please be advised and I suggest extending this event at least another 24 hours to accommodate, and to increase availability of the needed foundables to complete the event. We can’t catch what we cannot find... Thank you!
Spawn rates are a joke, yet again. End of the day this is a mobile game not something most players spend hours per day on. Yet you have to, and burn countless ttd, just to get two dada books. Not worth the time or energy the reward is pathetic.
