Different levels of foes in fortress wizard challenges

Hi. For the different types of foes that spawn in the fortresses (e.g. pixies, death eaters etc) can anyone tell me the levels of difficulty they come in. Common is lowest I think? What comes after that? I've seem formidable, elite and imposing mentioned. Are there any others? What is the order of severity as they seem to almost all appear on different fortress levels (i.e. a common pixie in level 5 and a formidable one in level 3...?). Thanks

@CytopeAchen was kind enough to find and post this elsewhere. It looks right with what I’ve seen so far.

    • Elite – increases some or all active enemy stats
    • Common – normal version of the enemy
    • Formidable – slightly buffed Defence and Proficiency Power stats
    • Imposing – increased Proficiency Power, increased Deficiency Defence, increased Defence and increased Defence Breach
    • Dangerous – strongly increased Proficiency Power, Deficiency Defence, Defence and Defence Breach
    • Fierce – extremely increased Proficiency Power, Deficiency Defence, Defence and Defence Breach

    Hope this answers your question!

Perhaps someone can help me understand the number above the 5 star rating for Elite foes. I'm a little confused what this number really means. When I compare a pair of Elite Acromantulas I battled recently (see link), I expected to find the Elite Formidable with a higher number than the Elite Common; that's not the case here. So what does this number represent?

I’ve wondered this as well, assumed it was associated with how much stamina it will have once I click on him. I’ve seen the exact same foe, say two imposing pixies, with different numbers. When I battle them, the one with the higher number has more stamina. But that could be coincidence since I don’t always see same foe during same battle.

I've assumed the star represented the different classification. This allows you to see what it is before you click on it.

    Common - 1

    Formidable - 2

    Imposing - 3

    Dangerous - 4

    Fierce - 5

Elite is a separate modifier that makes any opponent more difficult.

Yeah. Wondering what do those numbers above the star rating means.

Ok, I've been thinking about what this number may represent. I'm guessing the best approach to take is that each number represents either both a combination of Power and Stamina or, one or the other... but represents the level of strength of any particular foe relative to it's star rating. This way we can separate the apparent discrepancy between the two Acromantulas I encountered earlier (scroll back up and follow the white rabbit 😉) and every thing makes sense again.

If this be the case, the only question that remains is which is it? Does the number reflect Power/Stamina combined or just one or the other?

It's definitely not Stamina...I was with a Professor Fortressing so I took the Acromantula with a higher number above the stars and it actually had fewer hit points/ lower Stamina (and frankly seemed easier to ****?)

    Thank you @CytopeAchen , @Dogoutlaw & @ZookiTabooki this does answer my question.

I didnt realise Elite was a separate modifier for any level foe, which most likely added to my confusion in the first place.

I have also spotted the different numbers above the stars. I had assumed it was the damage they could inflict (power?) differential, which kind of makes having the different named levels of foes pointless if that number indicates the power alone.

The stars are just a visual cue to indicate the modifier title so you can see what it is before you click on it for easier assigning of opponents.

Dependent on the opponents level and the special characteristics they gain from their modifiers you end up with your stats. For instance a Lvl 100 Common Pixie would be expected to have higher all around stats than a Lvl 50 or even 75 Elite Fierce Pixie . General DnD rules, the base (level) is the first concern, modifiers are second.

Ah right, Thanks. I think I need to pay more attention to the details on the foes.
