I clicked on the gift icon but decided not to claim and wait because i didn't need the energy but now the icon is gone. Did i loss the gift?

Does anyone know: if you claim it while you have your energy filled completely, does it just fill past that, or do you lose the energy because there’s no space?
Because, if you have full energy, but collect the daily achievement of “pick up one ingredient off the map” it will fill your energy past what your max is. BUT when going into inns, it will only go past your max if you had at least 1 free energy space.
I totally want to claim my gift, but don’t want to accidentally lose the energy just because I’m already maxed out, you know?

I don't think you would lost them. Just make sure you have space (even for a few energy spells) as long as you don't have full energy. I had about 85⚡ after i claimed mine. 15 more than my space allowed
I claimed the gift, even with my max at 75*, and it shot me up over 90. I only wish I had been to capacity, or closer, before claiming.
*I know that I should upgrade my spell energy capacity, but I’m holding out, and hoping for a better deal. It might be a long wait though, lol.

My friend just did it, and ended up with way over capacity on spell energy.
