We need a non-AR method of opening Portkeys

A large amount of players still cannot open portkeys because their phones are incompatible with ARCore and AR+ even though they are otherwise perfectly capable of enjoying the game and its remaining features by simply turning the AR off.

By including a method of opening portkeys that doesn't require AR, these players could experience the game in full and also participate in events, which due to the portkey event missions, is now impossible unless they borrow someone else's phone due to the portkey boot not placing and an inability to remove portkeys from the inventory.

This should not be hard to do either. Although I understand working out the interface will take a bit of time, the gameplay mechanics behind portkeys are very basic and could easily be worked into a non-AR setting, the same way battles and encounters with foundables are. It's really just a find and click system.

Really hope to see this added soon as I feel like it would exponentially increase the player base of the game, at least in my area.

The game is built on a specific graphics engine (Unity) and therefore automaticly inherits the hardware- and OS-Requirements.

The game is designed and built AUGMENTED REALITY game, therefore should clearly contain features that make use of that mechanic.

The game has those requirements for a reason.

I was able to turn of AR in the settings of the game. Otherwise every stinking Portkey ends up opening the portal in the middle of furniture.

Off course the game should contain features that make use of augmented reality, nobody is disputing that. There is however, absolutely no reason why those features should be mandatory to be able to progress within the game. There are a number of reasons why having them as optional features makes considerably more sense.

The hardware and OS-requirements have nothing to do with this either. If those are not met, the game cannot be played or even downloaded from the app-store. As was clearly stated in the original post however, there is a huge amount of players who do meet these requirements and are able to enjoy the game but for one single aspect of it, namely portkeys, which unfortunately keeps popping up as a requirement for events.

And yes, being able to just turn off AR in the settings would be ideal but unfortunately many people do not have that option for some reason. I myself can only turn off the AR slider in encounters and fortresses but not as a global option in settings or by slider in portkeys.
