Game and other player problems
This game is starting to get on my last nerve. In combat we have to play with other people to complete quests. That's not ok, my husband and I sitting right next to each other never end up in the same fortress no matter how many times we exit and reenter. The other players literally sit there and do nothing. I have used every single potion, and all of my health trying to complete my highest chamber but there is no way I can when I am 10,000 points below it's chamber level, and there are 20 foes with two other players doing nothing.
I am having a hard time finding potion ingredients to begin with, so wasting all of them to try and complete a chamber that I have no chance of is wrong.
There are some serious fixes that need to be done. I've been playing since day one and I will quit and never return if this stuff isn't fixed.
1. A magnificent cast should collect a foundable, no ifs ands or buts about it. I cast perfect cast, after perfect cast to have them disappear after multiple potions and tens of energy being spent.
2. Some of us really are quarantined and not leaving our homes. Energy, and ingredients need to be easier to find. I run completely out of both every day and very few show up where I am.
3. If you are physically next someone and you both enter the Hogwarts fortress you should both go to the same one.
4. We should not be required to continue doing fortress levels that are beyond our ability level for any reason. My ability is 3 levels lower than my highest available chamber. I have no chance of completing this past week quest because I cannot complete that chamber. I have used every potion I had, and run my energy completely out 3 times trying.
5. We should never be required to do chamber levels with strangers we are unable to communicate with. I have been unable to complete chambers on multiple occasions because of the poor behavior of other players. They do few if any battles, they choose foes they are weak against rather then those they could defeat more easily, forcing me to fight the difficult ones and being unable to fight ones against which I have an advantage. Like they don't understand how the chambers work. Without an ability to communicate in real time there is no ability to strategize and increase the chances of success.
6. If a player in a chamber does not pull their weight, thus leaving it to others to pick up the slack or be defeated, there should be some consequences. It is very unfair to players like me who are trying to play fairly, when others sit in a fortress and do not engage any foes.
I want my 33 health potions, 15 basic exstimulo, 12 medium extimulo, and 12 potent extimulo potions back. I also used a handful of wit sharpening potions. I want my 200 energy points back. And I want to have the rewards for completing the bonus quests because the way the game is set up right now it's a goal that cannot be attained. I should not have to compete in a chamber I am not of a high enough level to succeed in to complete a quest. I should not have to play with other players with whom I can not communicate and cannot guarantee they will play fairly to complete a quest. Fix the game or I will be leaving. These are just a few of the biggest issues.

leave, they dont seem to care, evident by the 'gift' (complete trash) and them no longer fixing bugs like in last BE where lola said in discord "we wont be fixing the be returning older page images more than once b/c coders think coding is hard" (not word for word how she said it but that was that). They no longer seem to care if the game is profitable and/or ppl stay or leave.
Right. Couple of things here.
1) Yes, joining the fortress with people next to you would be lovely, but having geographical limitations would **** other fortressing groups over. What we really need is a fair and equitable system where we can open chambers and send in game invitations.
2)No-one is "forcing" you to battle with strangers. The teammate tasks in events are no different to the SOS task. Personally, that took over 6 months for me to complete as I had noone to play with out here. You know what? That is fine. We don't get to win everything and complete everything. I also give a heavy sigh when I see a "complete your highest chamber" type task, but I also know I have a choice. I am not forced to play with randoms, I choose to.
3) You used your energy and potions on gameplay. Yes, it was frustrating and didn't have the outcome you wanted - we have all had that experience. But the team don't owe you potions or energy back at all. On entering the chamber, you can see the make up of the team and their levels. You then make an informed choice on whether to gamble your runestone, energy and potions or not.
4) You are not a high enough level to complete the chamber? That is because you have previously been lucky and succeeded beyond your recommended level, it seems. Perhaps you once had a team who "carried" you (I think "supported" would be a nicer term, don't you?). There is a way this could be adjusted of course, that tasks are for playing in your highest recommended level. But I suspect the coding for that would be more complicated.
At the end of the day, the game won't please everyone. I am reading this here and chuckling softly, because I read daily diatribes on Discord about how the event tasks aren't hard enough and should be things like completing Dark 5 in under 4 minutes. Now that WOULD be unfair.
@Drakonite As for you... That gift was perfectly fine for what it was. You know, they worked their backsides off trying to get everyone logged back in that weekend. And given that the task rewards weren't all that, the gift pack was pretty decent. Again, some people will never be happy.
And your comment about Discord and the fragments, I think the reasoning was that a one size fits all solution just doesn't exist, and that anything they try to implement will disadvantage some players, and possibly further disadvantage some, like the previous fix. It was nowhere near as dismissive as you make it sound, and they tried to be fair and offer compensation for that too.
But at the end of the day, you were both right about something. If you don't like it, you can choose to leave. But really, who are you punishing? Because if you have previously enjoyed the game and are walking out because of the odd frustration, it seems you are punishing yourselves rather than the devs.
