Decreased Spawns from Dangerous Weather

Hey there! I was hoping to get some input to you just based on a problem we have here in town. I live in Las Vegas and it's usually ~100 degrees every day from May/June to September. Because of the Dangerous Weather in game, we have decreased spawns for both traces and ingredients. People here in Vegas know it's hot and we know how to prepare. Most of us will find indoor places like Casinos or go to parks that have a lot of water fountains etc... We also are no strangers to this type of game, we have hundreds of people at our parks for every Pokemon Go event.. we come prepared, we have water and cold towels and escape to AC whenever we can, so this limit of spawns really hinders us and makes the game very hard to play. I'm lucky if I see one or two spawns in an hour.  I understand the want to keep people safe but in a case like this you're just limiting our ability to play for a 3-5 month period..

Any consideration for this issue would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

Was redirected here so I’ll go ahead and give this a bump. This makes gameplay far worse, does not help as it was intended to!

I would think an increase in spawns during nice weather (the kind that gets you outside and moving around) would be better than a decrease during bad weather.

Decrease during bad weather should be for storms and such, decreasing because it’s hot outside is an odd “solution”. Especially in areas where people are accustomed to the heat.

I have heard from friend in Utah that get the decrease in spawns from red flag warnings for wildfires. That one struck me as odd also.

The decrease is based on advisories that are issued in your area. So if NOAA is going to issue a weather warning...it will most likely be picked up by Niantic and used so that they won’t be held liable if you get sucked up in a tornado, die in a wildfire, drop dead from heat exhaustion, or get your boat run into the bank of the river due to water wind advisory.

We had a "heat wave" in Alaska, and because it made the fire danger extreme, I went through the same exact problem. In Alaska. I wonder what they are going to do to me in the winter :'(

I wondered the same about winter. ☃️

We currently have reduced spawns because "rainy."

1: It's not raining (at all - I wish it were).

2: So what if someone wants to get wet. They'll be aware that it's raining when they open their door to go play.

Here's my take, remove the weather restrictions.

1: Other peoples' "stupid" is not your responsibility. If someone wants to go out in a tornado, that's between them and Darwin.

2: It's inaccurate (see 'rain'). Therefore, players are penalized for a weather event that isn't even occurring.

3: It's a ridiculous restriction on its face. Some like the rain, some don't. Some like hot/cold weather, some don't. Unless it's restricted to absolute mayhem weather, what's the benefit to this?

I'm thankfully not in a dangerous weather area, but I stayed out longer yesterday and took an extra detour in order to find the type of foundables that I needed for the event. I spent MORE time outside as a result of not being able to find the spawns I needed. I'm sure I'm not the only person who does that. Seems counter productive to me.

I didn't think I lived in an extreme weather city (Melbourne, Australia). It's winter here and for a few hours we faced this too. We didn't even have any rain. I asked my husband to check for warnings and there was nothing. Nothing was mentioned on the news weather. Pogo also had the warning!
