Any reason Niantic chose to have Pokemon Fest 2020 worldwide (send presents to friends with rare candy) and the Wizarding weekend (use fortress with 3 others) simultaneously?
Neither event was playable. I was not able to access friends list in Pokemin Go. I was not shut out of fortresses, I did my quests early. But I sympathize with players who were unable to play.
Niantic needs to treat their players better. Don't promise something your servers can't handle.

Having suffered from the lost fragments issue and to be honest this months update is less than inspiring, I was hoping for new foundables, storylines and improvements to fortresses.
We get a load of new spell lessons which to a large extent only do what potions do already,
I am really not sure if I will be staying with this game much longer.
Don’t fall for this rip off of an event. I spent real money on potions/energy and multiple hours each day of the event and now I have no resources and 3/15 Young lupins and no way to finish the event. Such a scam that paying customers don’t get rewarded. The trace potions don’t attract the foundables you need, even though they are advertised to do so.
I understand people are frustrated with this event but I didnt seem to have any issues. The traces spawned at rates that seemed comparable to other events and I was able to finish on late Saturday with only using 3 TTDs. I'm not sure why it worked for me but not others.
I am frustrated that the traces are all still appearing far more difficult than they should. I lost a lot of Ginnys over the weekend because she was harder to return than a trace that is allegedly low level should be. If they made her a high foundable they need to put color over her traces and reward appropriately when she is caught with more than one field guide.
I've given up with it. Appreciate that we have been given more time but dumbledore and lupin just aren't spawning. The knockturn alley event was hard with the swooping evil being very rare, but even that had been boosted sufficiently. I've seen Lupin & Dumbledore twice, and have gathered a few extra with the trace charm but that's it.
I'm sorry to hear that so many people are having such a hard time with this event. I'm in the same boat as @Klc5048, the event spawns are common enough in my area that I finished the event on Saturday (aside from waiting for the fortress to be fixed to do my battles). It's odd that there would be such a disparity between different areas.
Also @Klc5048, Ginny was originally medium threat level not low. But she still seems to have been made harder for this event because she shows as being "severe", which suggests she was at "hard" difficulty.
There is a problem with spawn rates. 4-5 hours of play, most with TTD, zero Dumbledore. What is the expected hours of play to finish? I understand if it is more than 4-5, but *zero* out of ten in that time is not workable if you multiply it out.
I did manage to finish the event but It took me well over 8 hours of playing, most of it using TFTD and I also used 6 Dark Detectors. The Trace Charm was totally useless since once you got the first trace and went back to the map, the other ones were gone. Let's no even talk about the KB fiasco. We are 3 players in my household and I am the only one to finish. My wife and son gave up.
Update: Finally caught my last two Dumbledores about an hour ago. This event was a much bigger grind than what I remember ever being used to during an event. Only do-able if you had tons of tonics saved up. I had about eleven going in, now down to maybe three or four. I know prestiging isn't the point with WW but when the traces aren't spawning the way they should for the majority of people I feel bad for the people that had little potions to get what was needed when the people that did are even having a hard time with it! That's not even taking into account fortress fiasco and the very boosted flee and resistance rates, usually even after putting up a potion which didn't seem all that effective. Hardly enjoyable and I rarely complain about events. Most are convinced it's just bad luck but I think it's obvious they made everything harder to 1. Make people pay for resources to play effectively and 2. Get people to use up resources on the new SOS trees. I will not waste any restricted section books until I have at least maxed out my professor profession until I start seeing that the lessons are paying off because from what I've been seeing all over here and reddit they are either bugged or pay off very very little. The trace charm is kind of cool at least where oddities are concerned but I can't use the greenhouse/inn charm often. Hoping as time goes on kinks get worked out and everything goes smoother. I know it just came out. Just seems like I'm having to use up so much already to get back to where I was prior to this update
Anybody else having the bug where when you cast the trace charm on the Hagrid and Madame Maxime Yule Ball foundable, instead of spawning more of them, it spawns Moaning Myrtles instead? Has happened to me twice now - I thought the first time maybe I just made a mistake and cast the trace charm on the wrong foundable, but then the same exact thing happened again the next day. Moaning Myrtle’s not even in the Legends of Hogwarts family. Very frustrating as I have to get so many Hagrid and Madame Maximes to finish the event and can only cast the trace charm once per day! Thanks.
This event is terrible. Usually I can complete an event like this in a day or so. However, my tonic for traces gives me nothing most of the time and if I am lucky I can MAYBE get one hagrid for a 30 min tonic. I have wasted 5 tonics for no good results. At inns my dark dectors also get wasted and I am lucky to get between 5-7 of various traces that actually count towards the event (after using 6 detectors). Mostly I have seen Hedwig and I can't keep collecting that. I am not happy with this event at all.

@BryarRose22 The trace charm doesn't guarantee spawning the same foundables as it is cast on.
