I don't really know where to ask, so I'll try here.

Does anyone know/ has someone already noticed how the brew time reduction works together with the master notes? Do the master notes take into account the reduced time by the new SOS training or do they still use the regular brew time? It'd be a bit sad if it's the former, because then it'll be 15% of a smaller amount than in the latter case and hence the master notes will be with reduced efficiency.

I hope the question is clear, English is not my mother tongue.

So far loving the update although I’m very confused by my combat training number as it was 50682 a couple of days ago and now I’m stuck on 28157. I’ve completed all auror lessons so I don’t really understand what’s going on.

    anyone else having this issue?

@SpellWing this is currently a known issue that the @HPWUTeam are looking into. The work around is to switch to another profession and back to your original profession, which should reset the number to the higher value. The number seems to go back to being the lower one whenever a lesson is completed, so you may need to do the switching technique again after completing any skills.

@hpwulola Is the Trace Charm working properly yet? I’ve used it three times and twice all of the traces disappeared as soon as I had returned one, and the third time it seemed to give me extra. While I’m not complaining about the extra, consistency would be nice.

Also, just a few words on the new skills. Now that I have had a few days to go through them all and have gotten the ones I want and can afford, this is my observation on it. While the new skills are great and fun to read and buy, the organization of them is pretty awful. It seems to me it would have made much more sense to have three skill sets...

One of all of the potions related skills with the Greenhouse Charm to start it off

One with all of the spellcasting and trace related skills with the Trace Charm at the start

One with all of the gift, treasure, and food related skills with the Inn Charm at the start.

As it is, it’s a nightmare to try to sort out which skills are which and what’s related to what and, therefore, where to go next.

As a person who really likes things to make sense, it kind of drives me a little bit nuts every time I go look at it.

Overall though, it’s great to have the new training even if it is extremely frustrating to navigate at times.

@SpellWing no problem. Happy to help. 😊

@ElisaWilson I checked when applying the master notes to a BBE after reading your comment and it seems as though the master notes 15% time reduction takes the new time into account when applied. So whatever time is shown in the ‘Recipes Info’ tab.

Since I checked on the BBE, I’ll give that as an example. For the BBE I currently have a reduced brew time of 15% by completing the relevant SOS training skills and therefore the time shown on that page is 10hr 12mins. Applying the master notes will use that time to calculate the 15% extra time reduction which is about 92 mins. The total time reduction from the original 12hrs is therefore about 27.75%.

It would have been nice if the percentage time reduction was added on, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case.

Although I haven’t checked with the other potions, I’m guessing the master notes are applied in the same way to them too. I think I’ve done the calculations correctly, but it would be great to get a confirmation from another player as well, particularly with another potion.

I hope this helps answer your question.

I feel like some foundables do not reward field guides when returned.

I know field guides aren't always granted, but I've never had one when I returned Hedwig, for example. I've returned about 10 0f her since the field guides became available in preparation for the upcoming weekend and not a single field guide.

    Did anyone else notice this?

Question. Can one move UP the chart? Or only downward? I forgot to test on lower levels.

    I enjoy this new training.

    But Brown&Green books are deficient…

    Give me more these books.

Please improve the drop rate of brown book…

Even with this new system of spell mastery and departure denial even putting an Extimulo potion on top and another Dawdle draught in the mix, foundables still flee. maybe it’s just me but there’s really something wrong with that

i think we need a representation in traces encounter how is the departure denial works, just like spell mastery works.

Yea, i agree with @Kodokmag I spend quite a lot on departure denial and get like 3% 6% - very low rate, i'm not even sure if they are worth it. not even 1 departure denial without daudle draught. if not that, at least some way to see if the chance worked?

Oh actually for the first time, departure denial worked on Lupin for me! I didn't use any daudle draught. It was amazinggggg

What is the upper limit of spell proficiency? Adding 20 or 30 to the original 520 or so we were given originally gives us how much of a benefit? 1%? 0.5? The percentages of the other improvements like brewing time or reduction of flight are given.

The link between Ad Infinitum and Herd Immunity is not working. It is horizontal link. I would not have chosen the first unless it allowed the second.

    Thanks for any help.

@xxxlindy I would say you should either post this in the “Report a Bug” section and/or report it to the in-game support. Otherwise it won’t make it to the right place to get investigated and fixed.

Addititionally, @xxxlindy, please remember that the team aren't due to start work for the week for another 95 minutes, possibly later due to flexible covid working hours. I am not sure. But it is always best to wait until mid morning on a Monday.

I completed the Studious Success lesson in the SOS training that says it allows treasure trunks to award a Trace Charm spell charge. I am curious what likelihood there now is for that reward to drop? I've opened several chests since completing the lesson to no avail.

@Klc5048 The percentage that I’ve heard for the drop rate is about 5%, so it can take opening quite a few chests before you see a drop. But then if your lucky, you might see two drops between opening a few chests. Best to just be patient and not expect it, then it’s a nice surprise whenever it happens.

I’ve noticed a progression issue. As there was a progression problem with not being able to acquire Red Spell Books, now there will be an issue with not being able to acquire enough Field Guides. It would be helpful if every fragment returned rewarded at least one Field Guide. Additionally, it would nice to be able to do something with the Thousands of Scrolls. Are all fragments supposed to dropField Guides?

What is the definition of a Rare Ingredient in the Great Greenhouse SOS lesson/spell? Would that include unicorn hair?

  • CeruleanGirlCeruleanGirl Posts: 637 ✭✭✭✭✭
    #11629 July, 2020, 06:28 am.

@xxxlindy The ingredients considered to be rare are Unicorn Hair, Hermit Crab Shells, Powdered Dragon Claw, and Leaping Toadstools. Erumpent Hair is meant to be rare but right now it’s more common because of the changes made for playing at home.

Since some SOS lessons use Restricted Section Books, it makes it sort of important to know when there will be new Combat lessons and if they will use them as well. I am hesitant to use Restricted Section Books on SOS lessons without knowing if they will be vital to the next Combat Lesson Plan. Has there been any info on this that maybe I missed? I did look but couldn’t really find anything helpful.

@CeruleanGirl , absolutly agree with your idea about Restricted Section Books.

I second (third) the Studious Success being terribly rare. I got it once right after opening it, then never again, none since the Fortress issues. With limited resources to go through this tree, I place 100’s if Field Guides to get there, hoping it would make a difference. It doesn’t appear to be worth it.

I also think the tree is so random. I have to sort through and reread everything to get to the one area I’m interested in. And it’s usually buried beneath something completely unrelated and what I’m really not interested in. I wish there was more continuity in subject matter.

It's about 5% chance for it to pop.

Imo well balanced because it's very powerful. For now, due to a bug, it's only 2 fragments you get. If they fix it... Very powerful...
