When opening up the new spells on the map for the first time, it will not let you leave / close until you have cast your first spell. I wanted to save them for something better
Also bug 2. Daily tasks will only register any progress when they were opened on each day. Any foundables returned or items picked up or XP earned etc. will not count. Is this a known bug?
I've only been playing for a week, but the second one I have encountered a few times now.
What is happening with the combat appraisal? As your SOS task force appraisal increases, the combat appraisal decreases. Now I look like a newb player in the chambers,meanwhile I'm nearly maxed out.
It does not appear the trace charm accurately displays maximum total casts. I have a maximum now of 4 though at present have zero available which is what I think the magicum page is reflecting instead.
Trace Charm Proficiency functionality is also currently bugged.
According to the text, you should receive more Fragments and more Family XP every time you increase Proficiency.
However, you only receive more Fragments for lv. 1. After that, it stops.

Please fix this. I invested a lot of resources increasing my Trace Charm Proficiency because the in-game description indicates that I should be receiving more Fragments, but I'm not.
I'm having flapping appraisal numbers, as has also been reported by others. Early this morning I saw a number in the 30,000s for professor, then it jumped to 67580 for a while, and then it went back to 37544.
The 37544 number is not the appraisal number for any of my other two professions (auror = 47098, magizoo = 15269). But, as I just switched between professions to check those numbers and switched back to professor, my appraisal number for professor switched back to 67580.
We've also noticed that if we upgrade skills in SOS then it will bump our profession appraisal number back down near to half the usual #. As you noted switching professions will make the higher number visible for fortressing again.
It's still unclear to me if the game acts like you are at a lower level if you try to combat at the lower score. I have not wanted to risk runestones to find out. ;)
@Bliznik it may not be helpful, but it looks to me that the incorrect fragment counts is now on the edited known issues list. So at least they are working on it for you!
Lol, meanwhile my trace charm spawns evaporated before I could see if they gave extra fragments. So it looks like there are still a few bugs to get this new content to work smoothly. But once it works, looks like it's gonna be a blast.

There are 3 separate issues with the Trace Charm.
(1) UI Magicum Vitae Issue
--- When you look at the Trace Charm in the Magicum Vitae, it has the words "Additional Energy Provided" instead of "Additional Fragments Provided" and it has the words "Spell Duration" instead of "Additional Family XP"
--- This is a known issue, and is referenced by the first circle you drew
(2) UI Trace Charm Issue
--- When you return a Trace Charm Trace, in one part of the Patronus Animation it shows you as receiving only 1 Fragment, yet in another part of the Patronus Animation it shows you as receiving 2 Fragments. The Fragment count in the rewards summary section showing you as receiving 2 Fragments is correct, but the Fragment count shown at the beginning of the rewards summary section is incorrect
--- This is also a known issue, and is referenced by the second circle you drew
--- The bottom part of that second circle refers to the Field Charm, and is a separate issue. =P
(3) Functionality Trace Charm Issue
--- When you increase your Trace Charm Proficiency (any of the "Lost and Foundables," "Piece of the Puzzle," "Repository Knowledge," "Dangerous Attraction," "Gethsemane's Pickle," "Deep Dive," "Foretelling Foundables," or "Fragmented Memory" nodes), you only increase the number of Fragments received for the first node activated. From that point on, any additional Proficiency node activated only provides you with additional Family XP.
--- This is NOT a known issue and has not been addressed by anyone at WB Games yet in any of the correspondences that I've read.
I am trying to bring attention to this issue, but people keep thinking it's one of the first two issues. It's not. This is not a UI issue, it's a Functionality issue.
Regarding your "traces evaporating" issue, there's a workaround for that. Restart your app. They should come back if you're quick enough. Just to be safe, before I cast any Charm I make sure my assets are all downloaded, I restart my app, and THEN I cast the Charm. I used to do this all the time when Fortresses were new in order to minimize crashes.
I've confirmed that the "maximum stored spellcasts" within the magicum vitae page for Trace Charm reflects the number of current casts not the maximum. So if I had 4/4 due to lucky family chest openings it would display correctly but since I have one remaining at present it shows as one
@Bliznik I feel like Maximum reflects the fact you have invested into upgrades just like all the other elements in the page. I think the reality is someone on the dev team just referenced the wrong variable as the source for the number itself since it's dynamically changing as you use or gain charges.
However they choose to address it the "LEVEL #/#" would be nice to be shown there as well.
I used the Trace Charm on a trace that came from a Potion of Trace Detection, it spawned three copies of that trace, and I recovered the original pink swirlied trace. When I got back to the map, the other three traces were gone. I haven’t gotten another Trace Charm to be able to test again.
Another UI issue, found on Android. Affected devices include Pixel 2, Pixel 3, and iPhone 7. The Magicum Vitae page does not allow us to see the Trace Tonic value. The page won't scroll further down.
@Trellarn While this unfortunately comes to late to help you the fix is to restart the app. I had that happen to me with my first trace charm today but didn't know to restart and when I tried it was too late and things despawned. However when I used a second trace charm the moment I caught one of the traces the rest vanished again but upon restart they reappeared. On my second attempt I caught the summoned traces rather than the naturally spawned one. So I don't yet know if grabbing the "anchor" changes the behavior versus catching the summoned ones.
Also @Bliznik how did you unlock additional Trace proficiency nodes? Everyone I can find that isn't granted by level achievement is behind a DADA book wall of at least 20 books.
Any node I did not mark with a * can be unlocked without using DADA books. It takes a lot of tapping on the screen and navigating through the various trees to figure out optimal paths.
@DynamoKaren while getting kicked out of the portkey stinks, I have seen that you still get credit for getting the stuff even if you don't click all five wrackspurts. In fact, you can click on one and then exit and the game will credit you for everything you would have selected. I am not sure if the rewards are calculated upon entry or based on the first 'spurt you select but I do know that if you click on one spurt that you'll get rewards for five.
The push notification thing sounds icky. I don't want to sound flippant, but maybe just swipe right on the notification to dismiss it after reading what it tells you and then go about the game normally?
@Kodokmag - @Bliznik's post is somewhat lengthy in its analysis (well done, btw!). The main thrust of his piece is that the Trace Charm is going to be very useful. He laid out all of the nodes where they can be found in the books, as well the costs and what they do (there are about 20 nodes in all, hence the length). He does point out a bug with the Trace Charm Proficiency right now (it only allows one extra fragment).
Can you switch providers? Maybe use a VPN to bounce to a different country?
@Bliznik@HPWUrobert post 103 is great - bug 3 is the one I'm trying to get them to acknowledge - reported it in a separate thread but @HPWUrobert merged it into the other thread yesterday - please acknowledge that you can get a max of 2 fragments per trace at the moment please :-)
@hpwulola I just noticed that the Magicum Vitae has the icons mixed up for strong and potent extimulo potions in the ‘Potion brewing efficacy’ section.
@Kodokmag My post is extremely lengthy, and it's all formatted so it's difficult to replicate here without a lot of effort. Suffice to say, if you want to power up the Trace Charm, you might want to power up the following nodes, in order:
Knowlege is Power (I-8) <- increases the chance of rares
Constructive Criticism (I-8) <- increases your Trace Charm Charge capacity
Cold Case (III-46) <- increases your Trace Charm Charge capacity
Studious Success (II-32) <- allows Trace Charm Charges to drop from Treasure Trunks (very rare, like 1/50 chance)
Innsight (II-19) <- increases the number of Traces summoned by the Trace Charm
Mind Freak (III-38) <- increases the number of Traces summoned by the Trace Charm
Ottery St. Catchpole (II-36) <- increases the number of Traces summoned by the Trace Charm
A couple of things to note about the Trace Charm.
(1) You'll want to cast it on a Severe or an Emergency Trace. Personally, I only cast it on Emergency Traces
(2) It's buggy. Just to be safe, make sure you've downloaded assets and restart the game before casting it. Otherwise, the Traces may disappear after you return one of the summoned Traces and you'll need to restart the app in order to see them again.
The charms are underwhelming to say the least. The only way they respawn is with the daily task? Seems a bit restrictive for what are very minor perks.

@Banewyrm Yeah, they really need to either remove the word "Maximum," or change that so that it reflects the denominator, not the numerator.

Got kicked out of a brilliant portkey after selecting 1 wrackspert. Totally lost all benefit for the key & distance.
Constantly have issues with entering the game via selecting push notification regarding potion being ready causing me to exit & reenter the game.
Samsung- Android device.
Haven't seen either of these bugs reported.
