By the sound of it, you’re in a location where community day is well underway. Did you by chance start brewing the potion before community day officially started for your location? If so, then it will reflect the normal 7 hour brew time. If, however, you waited until it indeed began (got the official task list to show up) before beginning to brew, then it’s an issue that hopefully @hpwulola can take a look at.
Tonic for Trace Detection is brewing at its normal rate - not the one hour as indicated in the notes in the email, above and in the game. Am 9 hours into community day so far.
Ah, you must add the potion to your queue only after CD begins to receive the benefits. Potions queued up before will not have their brew time reduced.
Higher increase wizarding challenge did not offer significant increase. I wish it could be more. This is DC5 runestone level 3. Looking forward to hear more about new lesson.
@hpwulola My comment went into moderation, can you please have a look? I think the Nargles may be behind it, maybe they’re scared of the swooping evil or didn’t like it’s picture.
Just in case it still doesn’t get through I had a question on the post regarding the difficulty of the swooping evil. Is the difficulty supposed to be the same as always? It’s usually reduced for severe and emergency foundables, but after coming across the swooping evil, I wasn’t sure if that was the case this time as well.
Also, another question I forgot to ask in that post - how easy is it supposed to be to come by the Knockturn Alley foundables? The swooping evil doesn’t seem to be as abundant as the rarer foundables on previous community days; I haven’t come across any without a TTD and very few with a TTD, so I just wanted to check. Maybe I’m just having bad luck with it, not sure.
EDIT: Okay, I just came across a swooping evil without a TTD after posting about it here. It still doesn’t seem to be many of them around, but maybe it’s just the RNG working against me this time. Not completely sure.
I am also seeing 7 hours for a TfTD newly added to the cauldron, even though I'm already working on event tasks. (Time zone America/Los_Angeles, Android, in case it makes a difference.)
Hard to have faith in these event descriptions with the same error twice in a row.
Quoting the top post, in case it is edited later:
"Tonic for Trace Detection will reveal more Community Day Traces, only take 1 hour to brew, and its Master Notes will reduce brew time by 50%"
I don't recall it working this way in the past, and I've never seen it documented *anywhere* that the cauldron needs to be completely empty to get the special timing for event potions, only that the potions need to be added after the event starts.
@hpwulola Quick question, is the difficulty for the swooping evil supposed to be the same as always? Usually the difficulty and departure rate is reduced during community day for severe and emergency foundables, however that wasn’t the case when I came across the swooping evil this time around, so I just wanted to double check.
@Morganza at least wait until your TTD starts brewing to see if there’s a reduced time. You’ve got plenty of other potions to finish before those even start.
As for you quoting Lola earlier, all of those requirements have been met. Tonics are brewing in 30 minutes with master notes, and Knockturn Alley page foundables are all boosted for Community Day.
Played for two hours solid and have gotten 3 swooping evils and 4 thestrals. Are we seriously expected to play for 6-8 hours solid? This is much harder than other community days. Guess i'll take what I can for the page and that's it.
I have seen one Swooping Evil. While I suppose that could be considered boosted since it’s only the third I’ve seen since the game started, it’s not exactly what I imagined.
Update: I’ve gotten one Sweeping Evil in two TTDS. (The first one was without a potion.) At this rate, it’s going to be really hard to get the 10 required. I guess I’ll have to brave the July Las Vegas heat and go over to the park to see if I have better luck there.
@hpwulola is the swooping evil supposed to be so rare and difficult for this event? I have seen three in the 3 hours I have been playing and the second one I used a strong exstimulo four casts didn’t capture so chugged a potent and five masterful casts and it fled. So 9 casts and two potions and no swooping evil. 😭😭😭
I am on my 4th TTD and only captured two. I thought they were supposed to be boosted and easier to capture. I don’t think I will be able to complete this event with having to capture 10 of them. It appears many other people are experiencing the same issue so I know it isn’t just me.
A third TfTD which I added to the queue while the wit-sharpening potion was still brewing shows the 1-hour time, so whatever the problem with the first two was, it doesn't seem to have been not clearing the queue.
I've "returned" 4 swooping evils so far and received task credit for the community day event. I have not however received a single additional count for my fragments in the registry. 2 of those I tapped through quickly and didn't notice the rewards screen. The 4th I tapped deliberately slowly and it never took me to the rewards screen similarly to if it had fled but I had a dawdle in effect plus my cast was successful at dispelling the confoundable.

@MumNZ welcome to the forum.

Just started CD here, the TTD is as stated in the build up. 1 hour without master notes, 30 mins with. Everything seems to be fine.
@MumNZ and @Wechsh, could you send over a screenshot of your potions queue? Thanks!
This potion was in queue to be brewed but was not brewing prior to 12:01 am AEST

anyone reach gold page already? 🤨
Thank you for clarifying! Will plan better for next time.

Very very very very hard to capture swooping evil without potent extimulo. LoL
have used 2 tonics for trace so far = 0 swooping evil sighted.
Wasn't this supposed to be an event that you could play from anywhere?
(During the 11 months I have played HPWU to reach lvl 40 - i've sighted the swooping evil once before this event.)
So my hopes where quite high for this foundable -- but now ... ....)
PS. @MumNZ my brewing time for tonic is reduced to 1h and 30min with stirring...
4 tonics for trace used so far = 2 swooping evil sighted.
My Knockturn Alley page is ready for second prestige (to silver) once I get the swooping evils...
Should I laugh or cry?
mine seems fine, from 1st TTD i think about 2 or 3 per TTD just like last ComDay but flee rate is very high.
i think every 2-3 TTD will capture 1 swooping evil.

The TfTD third in the queue was added at about 12:35 am local time, after I had gotten my special assignments.
@Morganza But you had the BBE and WSP in the queue before 12:00 am though. The cauldron queue needs to be empty.
Very happy to have another community day home edition.

@hpwulola , is this statement correct?
I took a risk and put a second TfTD into the queue. Same result.

I have difficulty to complete this challenge

Did anyone get even 1 portkey yet?

@Banewyrm Were you travelling at speed by any chance? (e.g. in a car / bus /train)
