@Jagiellonia They tried and failed to restore lost fragments, twice on many accounts. Rather than make a 3rd attempt and possibly cause even more lost fragments, they came up with the "make-good" solution... that they have yet to inform us what it entails.
It seems like the in-game support is now rendered useless? We have been told via in-game support to refer to this community announcement, but it seems like the updates are scarce and few?
I'm not asking for too much. I only want what was mine before the update and the **** up. I do not have the time to calculate my absolute losses since the first update, but here is a reference of what the recent **** up has done to me solely on fort fragments only.
I was only of those on the Knight Bus when the **** up happened, which rendered me without the rollovers and having all my green stars removed. It would be too much work to calculate exploration foundables and the challenge registry, but if it will help me get back my stuff, then i will put in that effort to calculate them.
With a quick calculation, I would need to spend an additional of at least 86.5 hours* in the fortresses. If I do an hour of hard fortressing every day, that would take me at least 3 months to get back what i have lost (only during this second **** up). So imagine how much more have i lost, especially those 80 fort fragments for bows and eggs.
(*Assumption: 1. no duplicates, 2. all games drops a fort fragments, 3. each game takes approximately 8mins)
Please calculate how much my offset should be. I believe what everyone suggested above is unfortunately not enough. Please give me back my green stars instead. I think this will be an easier solution for you @hpwulola @HPWUrobert . Appreciate if you could finally give us a favorable response.

Really though?Everyone gets a free gift again and that’s that, is basically what you’re saying. You’re incredibly disrespectful towards your player base! Why don’t you hire people who know what they’re doing in stead of the incompetent people you have working there now? I am absolutely appalled by this.
Since this will drag forever and probably not fixed, consider for the next events, really increase spawns for everything in the correspondent pages, so that the likes of us, edge accounts in the middle of the mess, won't be prevented from prestiging because we lost all Bogrod fragments.

So yeah, with a bit of thought, a “make good” offer works for me.
I don’t earn a huge amount doing what I do, but I run my own business and I have a pretty good idea of what my time is worth.
That would be around 3000 gold coins per hour. And if I take a really conservative estimate of my time wasted due to the update, that’d be about 200 hours.
So, for a nice round number, drop 600 000 gold into my account and I’ll go back to being a shiny happy player again.
Does that sound as reasonable to you as it does to me?
Like many I lost lots of green stars and did not get any lost fragments restored, please at least return my green stars, if needed i can tell you which ones are missing 81 in total and all stars in challengsfragments; i had them all done.

I also lost so many fragments after the uncontrolled update 2.13.0. It was even worse after the fix you provided weeks later, as I lost even more fragments and many green stars.
Reading that you give up trying to provide these fragments back means that you are still not in control, and this is worrying, disappointing for all of us ...
I sincerely hope that the "make-good" solution will be at the height of our expectations and the degraded gaming experience caused.
Once again : this game needs better support and a better customer care.

Whatever compensation you come up with, do not add insult to injury and award it to every player.
@Bellastarora You have to at least place the image (to display the green star) in order to prestige. Once all images on that page have the green star, you can prestige.
So if your doxies are at 100/25 without the green star, you can tap to place the image. The green star will appear, and your count should go down to 75/25. At that point, don’t tap it again, or you’ll forfeit some of your extras. Once you’ve prestiged the whole page, you can tap to place again right away using the extras.
@Fireboltraven, this is not directed specifically at you, even if your message triggered this one.
Various people exclaim, "forget this", or "forget that" and point out something that they think are more important. I have done it too, because at the time I hadn't really looked that carefully at exactly what I had missed out on. When I first saw some players claim that they had lost thousands of fragments, I thought that I must have been at least partially lucky or that these players were really hard-core or something. That was because I was only looking at the rare stuff that mattered the most to me, and it wasn't that many fragments. They did hurt of course, and represented significant effort. But it wasn't that many, and you all know which ones I'm referring to. Then after the green stars went missing, I thought that was by far the more significant loss and even said things like "the May 7 disaster was just a speed bump, the green stars fiasco is the real train wreck".
However, after actually going through my losses in what I have segmented inte four parts (exploration vs. challenge and roll-over vs. green-star), I can tell you that I was extremely surprised to realize that I had lost so much (6000+ fragments), and that you really can't prioritize for someone else what can be ignored and what cannot. It's just a complete mess and all parts contribute to it differently. I can only assume that many other players have also lost much more than they might think.
I am now very careful about telling anyone else what matters in all of this.
Is it normal to have to wait almost 48 hours for an update?
I have attempted to open a ticket twice in-game, and they just redirect me here and close the ticket down. Customer support should be keeping the tickets open until the issue has been resolved. No communication from customer support, essentially no communication here: SOMETHING MUST GIVE. If they don't know what they're gonna do, they should say that and not leave people in limbo. @HPWUTeam
@Habskilla I like your thinking! I'm all about simple solutions to problems.
So I came up with a reasonable suggestion of 600 000 gold as, what would for me be, a decent "make good" offer.
Let's just go with an even rounder number - make it half a million gold each for every player that was active before the update. Could be rolled out pretty quickly I imagine. Most players probably happy with that. Job done, we could all put this behind us and move on.
... or (slightly more complicated) 10 000 gold per level - make it a bit fairer.
I’ll echo what others have been saying. I have a fellow group player at a very similar progression point to me. He was not affected by either bug. On just challenge fragments alone he got over 450 red books. I got 58. He has all challenge pages on gold. Some of mine are still on bronze. And that’s just challenge pages! Oh, and I’ve spent much more money than he has. Real money. Gone.
I got caught by the original 5/7 issue (prestiged too early, never got the warning at all to hold off) but I think I'm one of the lucky ones when it came to the recent fixes; hard to be sure though, I don't aggressively monitor my counts or keep screenshots, but I do appear to have a realistic number of green stars. But I've been thinking about possible solutions since the original bug, and there seems to be an obvious one-size-fits-all fix that nobody is talking about:
1) TELL EVERYONE WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO IN GAME AND BY EMAIL
2) Take down the game for maintenance
3) Reset EVERYONE's prestiged pages, placed images, etc. back to base level
4) Give everyone their lifetime number of captured fragments (including any that were previously "wasted" by being over the maximums)
5) Bring back up the game WITH AN IN GAME REMINDER OF WHAT JUST HAPPENED - maybe a tutorial style walkthrough of prestiging a reset page?
6) INCLUDE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW THE NEW PLACEMENT STAR SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO WORK - BE THOROUGH
7) Let everyone re-place and re-prestige their pages however they want

@Daddar I got 0 red books, while most of the people I play with got hundreds. I feel your pain.
@sablknight that would work for me, but it really should be accompanied with a fair share of extra red books, runes and scrolls for those of us who have missed out on the slot-machine experience that most players have already enjoyed in their registries. Because I cannot see that anything will ever be taken away from any account deliberately, and I think there should be some attempt to close the artificial gap that has been created.
After a person plays a game based on a database for a year, then the game devs totally bash your database achievements and then tell you “we’re sorry, but we can’t fix our screwup, NO makeup awards (at least within the realm of what WB might actually do) can compensate for the loss.
Why? Because whatever the gift is, it will be just that - a compensating GIFT. It won’t replace what you spent a year EARNING thru your play. We’ve lost something that was PERSONAL to us because it represents an achievement from which we gained satisfaction. The promised compensation, whatever it is, can’t make up for that.
What the devs have now done is ruin the game for us forever. Other than restoring what they took, nothing will suffice, at least for me.
For the first time in a very long stretch, I’ve not even opened the game today, on the 2nd day of the 1-year brilliant celebration. How can I celebrate when I’m depressed about being screwed and will probably quit?
To @hpwulola and others who’ve shared info here, thanks. For the finger that your superiors directed you to deliver to us, my only response is my reduced play and probable exit from your game, which you have supported in a deplorable fashion.
Giving out any compensation to every single player just makes things even worse. Adjusting compensation by level is not a good solution, either. Compensation needs to be given ONLY to those effected and ONLY an amount equivalent to what was lost.
Those of us effected only want back what was lost. Blanketed gifts to everyone still just invalidated the hard work, time, and effort that was taken away through the failed "fixes".
If you lost nothing or had everything returned, STOP asking for hand-outs. The only way to resolve the issue, is to either return the lost progress or to give an equivalent compensation. Nothing more, nothing less.
Also, @HPWUTeam @hpwulola @HPWUrobert, we need proper communication, not just one update every 24+ hours that just leads to more questions!
@BenTiger , mostly agree. There is a gap between those of us affected by these bugs and everyone else who plays, and any blanket gift to everybody will only serve to perpetuate that gap.
As for me, it probably won't matter since I may well quit anyway... absent an effort to restore our actual losses.
Multiple closed in game tickets all directing back to this thread for "updates"... but there has been ZERO updates for over 48 hours, just unanswered question after question.
Give us at least some sort of hint at what this "make-good" solution is or some sort of hope that that wasn't just some made up statement to try and calm everyone down. Now, there is just more unrest, since all of the "support" directs people to a thread with a complete lack of support.
NOTE: This is not an attack on @hpwulola. It is understandable that you are likely prevented from sharing too much information by management. Those above you, hindering the dissemination of information need to start keeping us informed, since this is months worth of our time and effort that suddenly dissapeared 100% due to the fault of the development team.

New to posting this forum but the reason I posted in parenthesis "at least for me" about fragments is that in no way do I want to diminish or suggest that other people's concerns aren't every bit as important as mine. I lost many, many fragments and believe me, I get it. I have hundreds of screenshots saved from hours driving around looking for severe and emergency foundables (almost a year to place Swooping Evil the first time) so I know the value of the time it took and it sucks feeling like what you have is incomplete now.
Forgive me if I implied I had no regard for others completely legitimate concerns. It all sucks.....it's just a long drive from Atlanta to Indianapolis.
Hi all, I realize there are still a lot of open questions on this thread. To clarify, we will not be doing a fix or anything that impacts players' individual registries. I apologize that this does not answer every players' frustrations, but we hope to move forward and make it up to you with future events and content.
Since we are not making any changes to Registries, players are good to play, place, and prestige as before. Reminder, with repeat sticker collection, you now have the option to continue collecting placed Foundable Fragments and even place an image multiple times before prestiging a page. Prior to this update, those excess Fragments would not hold value. I see there is still confusion/worry surrounding this feature; would people be interested in a guide or more tips on how this feature works?
I'll update you all when I have more information on our make-good solution. Also, I apologize for my slow response here and that I do not have personalized answers to each of your questions.
