this is so..... we need a clear answer, not a we're working on it and wait 2 more weeks until we botch everything again. I put money in the game because I feel I should pay for something I enjoy. I do not do it to throw it away while loosing everything I've done in the game. you need to fix this fast.
just shut the game down for a a few hours and fix this, do a rollback, whatever, but get a control on this. people playing are only aiming to loosing more.
@hpwulola Given the team is aware of the severity and it's only been a short time, is there any possibility you will look into a rollback and/or temporary shutdown to avoid further damage? Especially to those players that don't refresh the forums for updates.
Hopefully HPWU's event logging is extremely robust and the team can rebuild anyone's complete progress from those records. If not then, oh well, painful lesson learned.
Pair this with important notifications not reliably showing to some players and we're gonna see some irked erkling hunters around here.
Regression report: looks like the Registry database merge set the foundable count for some of them to modulo(current count, maximum count for page prestige level), wiping out the placed-or-not bit for each record (if that's how you're storing these data).
Top image: Fawkes, House Hourglasses, and Sorting Hat foundable were all placed + green starred. Fawkes kept the number placed, lost the green star, yet the Owl Lecturn (isn't it supposed to be spelled "lectern"?) retained green star, placement, and fragment count. Note also in the image that none of the families gained a bunch of completed placements. So, I lost a ton (dozens, possibly over a hundred) of captured fragments progress without getting any progress restored as far as I can tell.
Forcing round trips to the database via hard app restart didn't change this status.
Status: records merge rollout: soup sandwich, player: butthurt. :)
@hpwulola I don’t have a screen shot before today’s update, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that these three fortress frags were recently placed/green starred, as I spent the last couple of weeks **** them. I am -not- going for all good those Marauders Maps again. I also had other frag counts go down, like my recently placed Executioner (now at 20/30). In game name is “Aephaemin”.
I don't have screenshots, but i had young Remus Lupin and Sirius Black completed and now I'm back to 3/5 and 6/9 + had Newt placed and I'm back to 2/3.
Also lost green stars by challenges foundebles and by the challenges pages.
I have not lost all my green stars but have lost approx 96% of them. I placed several fragments over the last few days, these are no longer placed and in fact the count is vastly lower than the prestige amount, example the hag, green starred, now no longer and only 5 /12. Several of my fragment are like this. Example 2: I green started Angelina & Fred today, it no longer is and count is down to 10/15. Example 3: Exploding snap cards green started 2 days ago, no longer and at 5/20. There are loads more I can list.
The first fragment errors didn’t bother me too much, but I have made real steps forward with prestige for my pages especially after the community day and I am utterly confused, concerned and flummoxed what to do. I thought these errors where behind us. I cannot play for fear of resetting all my progress or loosing more fragments.
This is taking very long. Also more than 1,5 hours and so little information from the WUtubers nor community moderators. Getting really annoyed... waiting in such uncertainty
I Have seen a lot of the same hiccups as others but I also lost a majority or rare foundables that I caught yesterday. I was extremely lucky yesterday and caught my first quidditch captain harry, last two madam hooch, and finished off a few others which are now missing entirely. This is not just ones I prestiged to get a green star but also ones ones that I was not that far on yet. It seems to be restricted to what I found yesterday but since there are no records it is hard to tell how far back things were misplaced.
This new fix set me back as well. So many green stars are missing. I appreciate the effort to fix the issue, but this truly made it worse. I am a daily **** player and feel those like me are the ones who were hurt the most. We are also the ones spending money in the app to play so much.
I appreciate the restoration of lost fragments, but have Green dots missing on every page! In fact there are now only 11 green dots in the entire Explorations Registry :( .
Ok, I don't have before screenshots since I didn't know this was going to happen, but I took after screenshots of all the pages where I lost placed images. I keep a spreadsheet of what I've placed so at least I could figure that one. In addition, I did have some red dots and placed them without thinking when they popped up, so some more were un-placed but I guess they worked out since they're re-placed now. Anyway this is what I lost placed images of. I think the fragment numbers are actually right, but just the placements are gone. E.g. placed plus 1/9 becomes unplaced 1/9.

Nymphadora Tonks was placed.
Pickett was placed.

Even Pomona Sprout now looks like I had never placed her at all! And I had placed her sticker so often in the past :(

I only have one before/after shot showing the loss of a green star. Many of the stars I lost were fortress fragments I had recently placed.

I have some weird hypothesis about lost fortress foundables fragments. I lost all I collected after mmm nearly May 5th
