I get an error message everytime I clicked on the registry page, paste an image or to claim any trace rewards from the event. I’ve tried force quitting the app, reinstalling the app 3 times, restarted my phone and my IOS is up-to-date. It’s been going on ever since I’ve updated the app. And my wifi is turned on all the time.

ive check with the local HP community nobody is facing the same issue as I am. It’s really frustrating.

@Pumpkinmunchkin I get that message every time I login. That's why I think that the database is actually corrupted. Different people are getting that error in different places and other apparently random problems some just a display message and some you can't get past.

    Please roll back!

I've now popped the potion I needed to complete the BE and that's it for me now unless they fix the lost fragments issue, and I mean fix it, not give out some universal token compensation to all players for the various bugs

The thing that keeps me playing events is not wanting to fall too far 'behind' where I could otherwise be.

Well now, through no fault of my own but due to a bugged update I'm 'behind' where I ought to be. What's more, you've pretty much stated that a fix isn't currently being considered, only a 'resolution'.

Unless their income has dropped so much from this that they're forced to backtrack and actually give us our fragments back (and they WERE tracking caught fragments for each player so this ought to be possible if they WANT to fix it) I don't see any motivation for me to play regularly anymore, and if not regularly, then why play?

As I said to my husband when he described the game as a Skinner Box - you've broken the box.

Let me be the first one, then, to apologise if I have been - however inadvertently- patronizing, dismissive or rude. Without qualification. @Stina1A

wow, what a thread. I'm a little torn actually. I acknowledge that we are being told the fragment count resetting to zero was not intended but I actually like it. Every single fragment counts. That's amazing. The green star tells me when I have placed the image and the prestige mechanic is working as it should when all fragments have been placed. @HPWUTeam may I suggest permanent gold stars for gold frames where images have initially been placed. Would give those frames a greater sense of completeness.

I get the argument with respect to rarer fragments rolling over when working towards prestiging a frame; those fragments could have counted for the next round of prestiging. But I find many rare fragments are available at the fortress and I really like that every fragment counts towards earning more runestones. If they change it to lock fragment count, then so be it. But I've come to like it the way it is. Worthy trade off? Perhaps.

Edit: I'm thinking a quick fix would be to have all fragments collected post 'green star' count towards next round of prestiging, and keep the current mechanic. If someone mentioned this already, forgive me. I didn't read ALL six pages of comments before I was compelled to respond, like now. hehe

I think it should be very obvious by now that there will be no effort to return the lost fragments. They are just going to let the time pass so people get tired of complaining and they are going to use the community day to gauge how little of a bonus pack they'll have to give to maintain people playing.

Lola or anyone from Niantic, any solution yet? I come across many rare traces like PG here but I don’t dare to trace them because I am so afraid of losing the records and making it more difficult for Niantic to restore my lost frags (I prestiged everything before Niantic discovered the bug). Please tell me what to do, can we continue to trace while waiting for Niantic’s solution?

Regarding the Place Image Button... I am on iPhone and if I don’t want to actually place the image, because I want to save my fragments, I simply tap the button and when it takes me to the registry page, I hit the x at the bottom of the page to exit without placing the image. Hitting the button simply takes you to the page, it doesn’t complete the action.

@Syrope, you're right. If you return the fragment, you'll see how the counters go down into minus numbers and you do lose the fragments. I learned that the hard way with a severe foundable. If you however don't return the foundable and prestige the page with it at some point, you get the fragments rolled over to the new page. So the general rule is, if you see a foundable with a surplus of fragments (e.g. 25/13) DO NOT RETURN IT.

@CeruleanGirl This is also the case in Android. The complain was, that for example during the BE it was not worth it to start collecting the foundables again, because I think it gave you less family points than when you already have them completed. This meant that every time you returned a broom, you had to go through the extra steps of clicking on "Place image" and then of the X, which concidering the 30 foundables which had to be returned in the extra tasks, could be quite annoying.

While I lost some rollover credit, as people say, I really love this update overall. As others have noted, without the update I'd have never prestiged fragments like McGonagall. So even if I lost some rollover its a net win. I do wish they had just never suggested the rollover would occur then maybe everyone wouldn't be up in arms..

I would hate a rollback at this point and I feel like it would upset even more people than those wanting their rollover fragments. At this point my experience and challenge gains of the past week are way more important to me than prestige. If such a thing was offered I'd prefer it be an option that I can decline.

I'd hope they still have the data of how many fragments we caught total of each foundable and can do a one time correction. I'm still hoping they come up with a good solution for everyone but as I already said I'm still VERY happy with the overall change and it was great for the game's quality of life.

Anyone else gets this error from trying to access the registry entries? This has been an issue since the udpate. (I prestige most pages before seeing the warning not to do it).

HPWU should be officially listed as a gambling game. The items in a game that have value should not be taken away arbitrarily. There should be a warning label stating that your valuable items (valuable in game) could be taken by Niantic at any time, with no restitution of value.

The harsh attitude and radio silence from Niantic has taken the magic from the game.

@xxxlindy those warnings can be found in the Terms of Service.

@hpwulola Can you give us an answer as to whether it is safe for those of us that prestiged early to play? I, like many, have been holding off waiting for the resolution.

Thanks for the update @hpwulola. Knowing that the team is still working on a way to return the rare fragments many of us lost is reassuring.

I’ve been an active, daily player since day 1 and now that I’ve figured out all the changes, I’m very happy with the new format! Of course I think the rollout and initial info given could have been better, but as soon as Niantic rights the wrong of those lost fragments (which equals money spent on gold for potions, etc) I’ll be very happy with this update.
