Clearly a lot of people are upset by the change. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with any particular post, but please please Please, can we all try to stay civil? No matter how much emphasis you want to place on your point, there's no need for profanity (actual, or covered by punctuation) or screaming.

I want to say the for the most part, I LOVE the update! But I am confused on a couple of things.
Okay I have done the 2.13.0 update and I tried Prestiging the Knockturn Alley page in the green Dark Arts family. I prestiged it to bronze and my Swooping Evil went to zero!!! I had 9 Swooping evil before, I used five to prestige the page to bronze, so I should have four already on the bronze page, right? Are they still not rolling over?
I lost McGonagall fragments too! I've prestiged Moving Staircases once, to bronze, and that it took like ten Professor McGonagall's to prestige .... so I should have enough to prestige to like silver or something, right?

I totally agree with you 🤔 @MrSciGuy and @MtPollux. I'm new at this forum but i saw @hpwulola always 🤗 try to solve all the problems and queries of the players and even done much more 😇 for the players can't explain (as I saw by go through this forum). But on the other hand I think it's only the anger😔 of @kiheikid and other players which converted into frustration 🤯 and it's natural when we lost🤕 our hardwork we have done from the beginning. Please 🙏 understand the anger and frustration of the players and Don't ban. We lost our progress😥 and all the hardwork we have done.
I love the new update 🤗 of the game even i found the 3 Snowdrop 3 times but the new update didn't return the progress which we prestige earlier😢. Therefore, I request to WU Please do something in this regard asap.

I did the 2.13.0 update but still not everything is rolling over properly. As these screen shots show you, I went from 36 fragments (of 22) then I placed the fragment and it went to zero instead of rolling the other 14 fragments over. Is this correct? Or there still issues to be worked out?
Should we hold off placing and prestiging for now?
I hate that the bug with prestiging was overlooked and only noted on a forum post... Prestiged so many pages and lost so many fragments for no reason... Is there a way to ask for them back somehow? I couldn't be aware it was not meant to be that you'd lose the extra stuff 😅
I was the first to attempt to raise the alarm in this thread that this change had the potential to be a disaster if not implemented correctly. Sadly, that seems to have come to pass.
Now let's talk likely reality. Those of us who have lost fragments are likely not to get them back. I have been through enough of these issues that I hold zero confidence that anything can or will be done.
There was either a massive disconnect between developers and players as to what constitutes a rollover when prestiging a page, or they simply did not understand what we meant.
My suggestion is that the Dev team do a MUCH better job in forewarning the players about a change in the future. A lot of us are very experienced gamers and can point out pitfalls perhaps you are not seeing.
To say I am disheartened by how many of my accomplishments have been cheapened is obvious. The money I paid for ruenstone packs.......wasted.
I will seriously contemplate whether I wish to continue playing.
@hpwulola - thank you for trying to give us as much as information as you have. However, please pass along to the development team that if they're going to do something big like this in the future, socializing it first via the SOS Report (preferably well in advance of its release) would probably do a lot to prevent a lot of this heartburn.
I'm not sure why there is all this uproar. While the thought of fragments rolling over is nice, it wasn't happening before. If it starts happening now, great, but we nevertheless were able to prestige pages we couldn't before. If you had 9/15 of something for example, and it changed to 3/3 so you could prestige, and you didn't then have those extra 6 fragments on the next page, you didn't lose 6 fragments, you were basically gifted the six fragments you were missing because you were able to prestige the page without collecting 6 more fragments. Yes, obviously it would be cool to have them carry over, but it's not like they did before. How many foundables have you had hundreds of fragments of but they haven't counted towards anything except XP because you have that foundable placed and are not yet able to prestige to the next page or already maxed it out at gold? I understand why players would be disappointed, but the anger seems misplaced. Just my opinion though.
Finally got the update and it seems to have fixed by giving me back the rollover foundables. With all that extra family XP, I've maxed out two more families (already had Oddities done)! ALSO I just started on the bonus assignments, so was able to go back through all my old brilliant events and claim the extra XP that comes with that, easily knocking out the 10,000 XP task.
I like the update to the visual of the icon and the registry pages, too. The little touches here and there are nice; thanks devs!
I too have lost all carryover fragments. The advice to wait came too late. This update is a joke, and was obviousy never properly tested. Its effect has been to nullify hundreds of hours of effort in the game for me. Did I gain red books? Yes. Should I have gained many more red books? Yes. Don't look at what you got from the update, look at what you should have gotten. Thankfully this is just a game and I can walk away since the HPWU team obviosly doesn't care about how its actions affect established players. I liked playing the game, but I won't miss it either.
Well, this last change had a severe oversight. If they want to stand right by the community that would be the only option imo. Unless they have a way of restoring fragments without doing that. Its the type of thing that stains games forever.
As it stands, the fragment loss far outweighs the amount of time wasted by loading a previous save point for many of the player base, and even more so for veteran players.

So as an example on this page, which was already maxed at gold before the update, some of the foundables have green stars next to them and some don’t. What does that mean? @CeruleanGirl Perhaps I can give you some of what I am feeling here so we can bridge the gap between those that are happy with the update (and that is partially me for certain aspects of it) and those predominantly like me who are upset/disappointed.
I have spent an untold amount of in game currency to obtain runestone packs to grind Challenge pages and had completed the Books and Joke Products pages. This involved an immense amount of Fortress work to accomplish. Now it seemingly involves next to nothing.
The Portrait of Albus Dumbledore is one of, if not the, rarest wild spawns in the game. I had asked numerous times on Twitter to Niantic Support and the WU official twitter account of it was intended to be so rare. All I ever received was the typical "we will pass this along" response. The page that Albus resides on I only ever got bronze because he was so rare. In almost a year of playing I had only ever seen 16 in the wild, the rest coming from portkeys. Because of this rollover bug I have lost 11 fragments. That is months and months of my time and effort.......gone.
Perhaps now you can better understand our differences.
Regarding your question above, the + means you have Placed the image. If it doesn't have that, you are still working on placing it for the first time on the level of page you are on.
Surely giving players who lost out by prestiging before the update the option to revert to a backed up game file would be the fairest thing to do. That way the player can choose to either write off the fragments or (hopefully) just a day or two’s progress. I know this might be a logistical nightmare for Niantic, but frankly if they don’t want to alienate and lose a lot of players I don’t think they have any option (other than to roll the update back across the board).
@CeruleanGirl I took this to mean that the image has been placed in the registry, counting towards prestiging the page, but that I had still had to capture more to prestige the actual entry. If you go into the entry item it'll say "Placed!" next to the green star. Hopefully the super users will be able to put out more guidance at some point, but that's how I took it!
My acct has erased months of work. Pages that have been Prestiged are undone and are missing placed images. Why would they remove Emergency fragments? Not only has my prestiged page been undone all the fragments have been removed too. I've already uninstalled the game. After spending over $600 in the game I will not tolerate such disregard. I didn't know that they screwed faithful players over when I went into the game to collect from the map, brewed potions, and accidentally placing images.
One such example is that this page was on Gold (among a few others) :
@RexHav0c I would have to have a better idea of the numbers you are talking about. Were you able to prestige the page? How many did you need before to prestige the page and how many did you have? What do you have now? I understand that you are frustrated but without knowing more specifics, I can't really see what you are saying. Sorry.

After update indeed excess fragment are roll over to next prestige BUT i think its less than its should be.
Notice on three headed dog, prestige is silver at max fragmen (about 54?)
after update to gold prestige the dog is need 10, and its only show 10/10?
Is it accumulated to those hundreds family xp points?

Well, a rollback would be the one viable option I guess. Hopefully a backup was made before the change to fragments rolled out?
I have never seen Niantic do a rollback in 8 years.
Rollback means all gameplay after the save point rolled back to will be lost

The intelligent way to have instituted this update was to leave all prestiged pages alone and adjust the numbers for the players' current pages.
