Cast 5 great casts...challenge...ruins the game!

The most recent mischief challenge basically ruined the game for me!
It's a joke and an inherently unfair obstacle. Both my wife and I tried for 3 days to cast 5 great casts in a row on my OnePlus 5 Android... Wasting hundreds of spell energy and at least 5 tonic trace potions.
She has no issue on her iPhone casting masterful and great casts all the time. Not so with my Android!
And the tonic trace only have 3 choices: aguamenti, alohomora and arresto momentum. Neither of us could EVER cast a single "great" arresto momentum. And every time we would get to "4 of 5", Guess what the next confoundable was...
My wife had to talk me down from just uninstalling the game and quitting.
I still may. The game is supposed to be fun; not frustrating. And none of us are planning to become professional twitch streamers playing wizards unite (I don't think).

You’re absolutely not alone with your ire about the “in a row” task.
Given how hard the game is to play while under house arrest, now was not the time to introduce this task - which would be challenging under normal circumstances.
This task was much better suited to a Bonus Task where it wouldn’t block completing other tasks and/or completing the basic four pages of an event.
I have OnePlus 5T and had no problems... When trying I got so frustrated that 3 of my Greats were actually Masterful... And I rarely cast Masterful otherwise (perhaps 1/week)...
@AndyRozman masterfuls counted for that particular task as well. It was technically “great or above.”
Hm. Overall the "5 consecutive great casts" reminds me of the "throw 5 consecutive great curveballs" in Pokemon GO. Similarly to some spells being easier to do good in HPWU, getting your throw counted as "good" is easier for some pokemon and more difficult for others.
TL;DR: "git gud"
For a helpful suggestion, if you encounter a talsk like this, look for the fundamentals which require the cast (s) you are best at and ignore the rest until you complete it. I tend to prefer meteleojinx recanto or alohamora. I strongly avoid incendio.
Incendio and Arresto Momentum for me!
@Ginnungagap @Magpie31 with this task, I was planning on avoiding Incendio and also Arresto Momentum, but ended up randomly completing it with incendio casts. I usually end up failing that one or messing it up one way or another. I was very surprised. 👀
