@kiheikid I've used scrolls on both the other professions. I've not spent any books though.
I still need 173 red books. I'm sitting on 3789 scrolls and have 70 green books atm (haven't finished week 1 quests yet).
I can't bring myself to using them on other professions so I'll just continue to hoard them I think.
The only reason I have so many green books is that I was a beta player that spent a LOT of red books for skills that now require a much lesser amount of green books. ie 50 red books = 15 green books.
It does my head in just thinking about how many more challenge levels extra I need to grind than other aurors.
@WerewolfChaser - i empathize and sympathize. i wrote in another thread that i consider scrolls to be the paper wrappers, while the runestones, red books, and green books are the hamburgers inside.
Thank you for this! I've reached that point where I need to earn a lot more red books to complete the lessons. So I went out today to give what you suggested a try. I ranked up twice in less than thirty minutes. I think I was close before I began, but the higher ranked rune stones really do make a difference.
Strangely, I had been getting a lot of 4 and 5 runestones. I have no idea what I've done to cause this. So now I have a strategic way of using them. The only level 1 runestones I have been getting lately is from the Brilliant event going on right now. 🤷♀️
@Skaana I apologise if my post came across as ‘snarky’, that wasn’t my intention at all!
I merely meant to wish you good luck (literally) in getting the next 900 elite foes in order to complete the ‘Defeat 1000 elite foes’ (for 15 (red) Spell Books).
@Skaana I don't think it was meant to be snarky. I think what @Dewin99 was trying to say is that silver is 100 elite foes, and gold (an additional set of red books), is defeating another 900 elite foes. 😊
Mystery Items II does indeed ‘stop’at 45/50, for now at least. I assume that more will be released at some time in the future as there must be a Gold page at some stage. I wouldn’t worry about, likewise the ‘Cast 20 distinct spells’.
They aren't a challenge anymore, now its ridiculously easy and pointless. Just **** books challenge pages in ruins 1 w any lvl rune in 2 hrs can give you 50 Red books. The game has lost any and all meaning.
@Drakonite Would you mind sharing what you're doing to get 50 red books in 2 hours in Ruins 1?
My calculations indicate you would need 6,283 level 1 runestones to achieve that feat. How can you possibly do that many battles? My calculations have that at 52 battles per minute.
I'm seriously impressed if you can pull that off without cheating. Heck, I'd be impressed that you pulled it off any way.
I'm having mental images of a player sitting with 100 phones, all logged in doing fortresses on each. That would require a lot of coordination. (I don't know if you can log in on multiple devices)
worst scenario - you are already on rank 150* and need 3770 cexp for 2 books and have only 1 lvl runestones: you need 550 stones (not 6,283). Anyway 2 hours it is not possible but ~6 hours it is.
And frankly, runestones are now supercheap. I'm getting tons of 2-5 stones now, and there's no good reason I can see not to run low-chamber ruins for fast and easy returns.
Heck, with the night bus, it's "Jump into a low-level room with other people for the people bonus".
@SoulPowerX My calculations are based at challenge rank 150*. In order to obtain 50 red books you need 25 challenge ranks (94,250 challenge xp). I'm getting 15 challenge xp for Ruins 1 with a level 1 runestone.
I've been farming red books by oneshotting the 2 or 3 mobs in ruins 1. Since I'm gold on the 3 books frames, I'm getting 1200 challenge xp per stack of books fragments I'm turning in. Goes pretty quick.
We may think we are in Red Book heaven right now, but we haven't seen the requirements for the forthcoming skill sets coming down the pipe. Enjoy it while it lasts.
@ZookiTabooki That is exactly why I am hoarding my books and not spending on a second profession, no matter how tempting that is! Because I can see them upping it to 90 books per red book lesson or something similar. Even at 50 red books per red book lesson, that is still a lot of work at higher challenge levels, even WITH the 1200cxp gold placement reward.

So I just completed the Defeat 100 Elite foes achievement and acquired 7 red spell books.
Hope everybody knows about this already. I wasn't paying it much attention until recently.
@Skaana Good luck getting the next 900!
? That seems a bit snarky.... do you know something I dont @Dewin99 ?
I only need 122 to complete my Auror profession bronze at this time.
And ive started building out the Magizoologist and Professor ones( just to do something with all those scrolls).
Is that what you mean... or are you talking about the (future) Lesson plans of silver and gold?
Thanks for chiming in... its getting lonely being in lockup/isolation/high alert mode.

@Dewin99 thanks for the clarification.... your right, this is going to be a LONG achievement to complete.
At a rate 10 books per week, through the Fortress method, plus the daily treasure award,
I think Ill complete Auror lessons.... right about the one year mark when I started playing. Co-incidence?
Another point of question for you and @Bormacska: What do you make of Mystery Items II?
Ive had 45/50 completed for quite awhile. Am I missing something? and should I care, since there is a tiny
hint of this five and the London five.

Thanks @Dewin99 . Just. thought I could tap the knowledge base of the 5 star posters.
No worries @Skaana that’s what this forum is for.
I find your name interesting, would you mind posting in this thread please?
@Dewin99 thank you for the link and @Skaana Yes please!

@WerewolfChaser your calculations are wrong
worst scenario - you are already on rank 150* and need 3770 cexp for 2 books and have only 1 lvl runestones: you need 550 stones (not 6,283). Anyway 2 hours it is not possible but ~6 hours it is.
any other scenario - less stones, less time
And frankly, runestones are now supercheap. I'm getting tons of 2-5 stones now, and there's no good reason I can see not to run low-chamber ruins for fast and easy returns.
Heck, with the night bus, it's "Jump into a low-level room with other people for the people bonus".

94,150 / 15 gives 6,283 runestones required.
@WerewolfChaser you forgot about 1200 cexp what you get when collect 25/25 book fragments(gold frame)
nobody cares about these 15 cexp when you can get much more in minutes
imo this system is ruined because you get same(only) 1200 cexp in wands frame also
I've been farming red books by oneshotting the 2 or 3 mobs in ruins 1. Since I'm gold on the 3 books frames, I'm getting 1200 challenge xp per stack of books fragments I'm turning in. Goes pretty quick.
