@@HPWUrobert will adventure sync be available on kids accounts? My child's POGO will not allow AS for his account nor could google fit install for kids.
I was so excited for the new adventure sync I’m on a apple XS Max lastest iOS. It not showing me adventure sync at all even with Alway on set. I even uninstalled and reinstall the app. Anyone heard of this?
They are holding off on making AS live until the update has run through all players, similar to them holding off on the challenge start button until that update had been forced onto all players...so maybe end of week?🤞🤞
Could have been nice. Two Weeks ago, I bought an new Smartphone. Hoped I can play Wizards now...NOPE. It is a ZTE Blade V10 Vita.
So my Husband gave me his I Pad. Fine, now i can play... via Hotspot or WLAN from m Desk. Not really comfortable outdoor while walking. Then you announced this new feature. Hey, yeah... nice mybe now?!... but **** not activatable on I Pad. Folks, that is not really funny.
@Noni69 AS should work with Apple health app or Google Fit. AS is meant to save your battery so you don't have to keep HPWU open on your phone all day long and drain your battery. Depending upon your phone, and activity level it will work really well for some and not so good for others. For instance, my google fit tracks horribly on my phone and I can keep it in my pocket all day long and it will track half or less of what my pedometer and my fitbit tell me I walked in a day. So currently I am attempting something called "Fit to Fit" to see if that will properly update my Google fit step counter throughout the day. Now according to @HPWULola this won't count towards portkeys simply because it is considered manual entry, so I will probably be stuck with only keeping my phone on in HPWU to open portkeys. I get it, it's to keep people from cheating, but Google fit sucks at step counting for me. (BTW, Ican open Fitbit on my phone and GFit and Gfit will still count less than half my steps)
They are having some issues, as with all usual rollouts.
Current known bugs are as follows:
Known Issues:
Adventure Sync:
- Samsung tablets do not sync with Google Fit
- iPads will have an infinite load when attempting to turn Adventure Sync on
- Android 10 Only: App will restart when attempting to enable Adventure Sync when GPS is turned off
So as @Elyastorah also mentioned ipads are also having issues.
But ive got the Samsung S9 & only use Samsung health so I'll meed to figure out how to install google fit or the 3rd party app whatever that is to link ti S health.
Itl keep me out of trouble for a bit working it out anyway 😂
This feature was badly needed, and we're all so glad it is here, thanks.
I want to point out another great improvement that's happened silently alongside the rollout of AS: I think the speed limit of the counter has been raised. I notice that now, when I ride my bike to/from work, the kilometers are added and now count towards the portkeys! Just like the limits in PoGo now. I always wondered why WU was so strict in this manner, and this is a most welcome change. It'll really get the game going again for people who prestiged and now need lots of fragments.
It could also be that the counter was buggy, and WU now adheres to the rules of Fit/Health. All in all, a fantastic improvement!
@Bormacska thanks but it had nothing to do with that actually. The only thing that worked was uninstall app, force restart iPhone, and reinstall app. Thankfully back to normal now.
Still not sure how well it’s working and if so, how accurate it is considering I’m not walking. The health app itself doesn’t seem to be but I downloaded another called Steps which seems to count them. I’ll have to play with it a bit more now that I’m out of the hospital but I might just be stuck keeping it open for it to work. We’ll see!
Why do I have to have adventure sync turned on for my walking distance to register at all? I walked my normal route last night 3x, and it's about 1 km long, meaning I should've been able to open all my portkeys. Instead, they're just registering an increase of 0.3km.
Why is adventure sync mandatory for the game? What if I don't want the game reading my location at all times?
@LeFayeofAlbion so AS should sync with an iOs fitness app (with your watch) or with Google Fit. Currently I have a fitbit watch that I sync through a program called fit to fit that updates my activities in google fit. It's hit or miss some days as to how well it works, but considering that google fit usually doesn't even count half of my walking activity, it's a lot closer than it would be without. I've read that @HPWUrobert uses a samsung watch or app (please correct me if I'm wrong!) and also is able to translate that over for AS via a secondary app, so that might be another option for you.
@LeFayeofAlbion I can't answer your question exactly, but AS on iPad is an issue, and was noted as one by Fazes a while back. Not sure if it's been resolved yet, but based on your comment, I'm guessing no.

Thank you @Owlx ! You are my hero!
@Hoyot I misspoke. I connected via third-party app. I thought it'd link via Google Services.

@HPWUrobert thank you for claryfing this. So, I need that third-party app but I think it would be better if adventure sync supported S Health.
Fantabulous!! Very exciting news. 🙌🏻
Thank you.

@Bormacska I sure hope by then!
Just to make sure I understand ...will Adventure sync work if I DON'T install Google Fit?

@Bormacska my wife is getting persistent wireless network error on iPhone 6s, and no help received yet. Waiting game at this point.
Also, do you happen to know if it works with an Apple Watch?
Such fab news!!!

@MrSciGuy see post #33 and post #20
I'm so happy this is here! I've opened soooo many portkeys this week!
This feature was badly needed, and we're all so glad it is here, thanks.

@MrSciGuy wow. Glad you got it figured out! This is my first experience with AS.😊👍
@Bormacska mine as well. Loving it so far though! All the usual steps I take in a day when I never had the game open make a huge difference!
@RIVERSONG5972 good on you. Guess how many I opened with a 10km run yesterday, 5km run today, and 36km cycling.
I'll help you. Less than 1.
I love how this game is balanced and fair.

You can turn it off if you like.
@JamesTSmirk Hi welcome aboard.
Excuse the off . Would you consider commenting here Captain ( Admiral (?))
Love the name thanks for the smirk.
All puns intended
So, AS doesn't work on my really old iPad in which I play (My phone is even older)
If I were to get a watch with a fitness app, will it sync to the AS on my iPad even though they'd be different OS?
Also, will swimming count?
