So, reading the forum lately, there have been a few tensions and misunderstandings. I was wondering what we could do to build the community feeling (whilst staying on topic, of course) and thought a compliment thread might be a lovely thing to add.
I was originally thinking a game where you said thank you to the person above, but that is restrictive and would end up having the same two or three thank yous over and over again, so let's branch out! And it would be lovely to see different people being thanked.
So here are a few to get the ball rolling:
@Lucoire Thank you for always bringing well-researched, detailed posts that really explain the mechanics of software development.
@kiheikid Thank you for your humour, spirit and constant gratitude (I love how thankful you are in the postcard thread).
@Dogoutlaw Thank you for directing new members to the correct part of the forum, particularly those people who need to report bugs.
@Owlx Thank you for sharing the stories from your community - it is lovely and inspiring to hear of a welcoming, growing group that teaches others and supports them through fortresses, and is a haven for visitors. We need more communities like this!
@AuroraKadavra Thank you for organising the UK meet ups. I still hope to join you one day!
@Bormacska and @ClairabusGryff Thank you for the constant support and friendship while I have been recovering from my broken foot. I have really appreciated it.
I am sure I have many more and I am sorry if I left you out! These were just a few to get started. Wouldn't it be wonderful if people could find something to be grateful for each day?

Such a fantastic idea @Magpie31 ! I haven't been able to be as active as usual past few week on here with things crazy at home.
But i had noticed that whilst there are the most wonderful posts from people that inform & inspire or just downright make me laugh & cheer my day- there are always some that are just app feedback- so there can never be a shortage of threads like this where we can spread the love!! ❤
So firstly- of course, I'd like to thank Magpie for starting this thread! Her gracious nature always shines through her posts and the resilience to keep up with the game whilst recovering in pain from the injury really is inspiring & reminds me to push myself to get the regular exercise when it would be easier in cold, rainy winter to say- oh my achilles will hurt so il just park up & not walk.
Gotta thank the awesome vets on here with whom I've now become firm friends! Without this forum I would never have met them & I now can't imagine a time where they aren't a big part of my life.....
Alphabetical (so they don't bicker cos they are soooo petty like that 😂)

@Acumen - that guys sense of humour- just priceless!! He rocks!!
@Craeft - the original king of the forum- had over 1000pts and 5 stars when i joined!! That guy is just awesome- at everything!!!
@CVRLuna - ma Sista from across the pond! Someone who seems to look a life like I do which is putting HPWU very high on the daily itenerary, reacts to that and rest of the day falls in accordingly! Love you❤

I think maybe I tried to tag too many people. My post attempts didn’t result in the usual “your post will appear after it’s approved” message. The screen just sort of refreshed each time with no success, no draft saved... nothing. Oh well. I’ll probably end up with a triple post later so sorry in advance for that. It really is like the Oscars and @Acumen was able to add some people I'd missed who are truly awesome & need to thank those & everyone for sending me fantastic gifts & postcards.
I love the thought that goes into those from people knowing i love art & architecture, sculptures etc so i now get so many that make me want to travel the world instantly!!!
The dry & witty sense of humour of you guys is what helps to keep me sane (ish) 😂 in this crazy, stressy world & I'm forever grateful for that 😊❤

I love positive and uplifting threads and I want to thank everyone on here for always assisting me when I needed help. The wrath of information between all the players listed in all of the posts above me amazes me. The first person to truly help me out if I recall correctly was @AuroraKadavra and then @kiheikid ! I really enjoy coming here for not only knowledge but also the comedic relief that some people bring to the game like @Acumen - your vernacular and comedy is stupendous! @Owlx the teamwork aura you bring to the forum is spectacular. What I appreciate is everyone has their strengths and utilize them very well. @Dewin99 and @WerewolfChaser the amount of metrics you keep on runestones and everything else is so helpful. (If I forgot someone in this category I apologize as it wasn’t intentional). And I can’t forget out in-house HPWU geeks that explain the nuts and bolts to us like Bormacska and Lucoire (the post won’t let me tag anyone else).
I come to this forum to learn but more importantly the community...everyone lifts me up when I am going through some difficult things which I have been for about 6-8 months. @OriginalCaruso is my namaste partner and am so appreciative of your positivity and reminding me of what is important.
And @Magpie31 your stories of where you live and what you went through while recovering from your gimpy leg was inspiring because you never stopped trying to engage and play the game.
I haven’t seen much of my ladies @LeFayeofAlbion @LadyRedIII and @Punkyfins lately so I hope all is well with you three.
I do hope to get over the pond to meet some of you and go to the HP studios!

I am thankful to those in our community who start treads like this. Those who also likewise to choose support, be positive, and kind.
In the spirit of the Potterverse All are Welcome at Hogwarts. Whether we come by page, screen or game.
We are all here because we choose to be. Our community is what we make it. I admire how wonderful so many people here have made me feel on a regular basis. (That's what part 2 comes in)
Just as the game continues to evolve and improve, so do our forum. Sometimes by small acts of kindness and sometimes by long heated discussions were we don't always agree., but remain respectful. Written word leaves out essential non verbal cues to the author's intent. It's too easy misread or misinterpret comments. We learn to be more respectful and kinder as a result of these discussions.
I love that I can geek out here and share the quotes, puns and HP humor here that drive the muggles in my life crazy.

@Craeft love you speak your mind! Your discussions were some of the 1st I found that made me realize hey I found my tribe. The posts on house and professions were great way to get my feet wet in the forum.
@Herm10neG92 who i hope is well still playing and lurking around here sometime. Her post about warnings helped when i freaked out over a warning.
@Athamus I love that you shared flatulent pickle heads!!!! My 1st year and I laugh out loud very time we find them. Whispers my warning was for an attempt at a similar post to yours. I'd post the meme but i'm too afraid of getting expelled. 😏

I’m terrible at this kind of thing, but this community and so many of the members are absolutely brilliant people. I love reading your posts. Either I’m learning something new or I’m laughing out loud with the comic relief. It’s amazing to me how I’ve “met” you all through some random game forum that I could have somehow missed. I’m glad I didn’t! And hopefully I’ll be able to meet you all some day (Fan Fest details please!!). What a great thread! It's been awhile, yet the thing that strikes me as I read my way to catching up is a sense of shame I feel for not having been around of late, and for that I'm feelin' a pang. I guess some of you became like family or something... 'cause I can't believe how much I missed being a part of this community.
My wife has been upset with me because she thought I was going to drop HPWU much like I did Pokemon Go. I will do that, invest all kinds of time into something, for years, and just drop it (more like shelving it in most cases). But that was never my intent. I get focused is all, and some things fall by the wayside for a time while I shift. I am definitely done with PokeGo. I was just waiting for a new geo-location game to come from Niantic, and HPWU is more my speed. Between HPWU and the forthcoming Eve Echoes and Cyberpunk 2077, I wonder if I'll ever have time to play anything else my plate is so full, especially considering the investment in time and energy required to play these games nowadays. Games are becoming investments...but I regress.
I want to thank ALL of you for the experience I've had here. This was the first time I've ever joined and participated in a forum community to this extent, and I have had a blast. I have many great things to say about this group as a whole and many of the regulars have made this a really cool place to hang my hat and have a umm, a potion or two. 😉
Though I have much love for many of you, @Acumen will be the one Wizard I will mention by name at this time, simply because the cream always rises to the top. I have always appreciated his insight, humour and ability to express. Cheers.
