Yes, this community forum is clunky, but not very difficult to navigate once you’ve had a look around. You’ll find lots of people looking for friends in that category, and you can create a post to share your friend code. Less is more, I’ve found. Just a couple dozen friends is easier to manage.
There’s also a community map where you might find posts for meetups or friend requests from people in your neck of the woods. That’s here:
