I've been watching Anthony Constant's channel for game tips when I have time. Learnt how to solve the potion puzzles on another channel. Still looking for a way to make masterful spell casts. None of the ways I've seen work for me yet.

The couple I have watched from Poke Fodder and from Wizards News were very informative...

I found a video last night that says you should do the spell casts quickly AND accurately. The status bar is a countdown timer... The slower you go the worse your accuracy rating. I tried it a few times and have has more Great spells since.

@LysaraBlackwood I didn't get a lot of masterful spell casts until reaching lvl 15. I didn't try a lot though. But i noticed that the bigger your level, the more the cursor go up after casting (ofc if you didn't messed up your cast and if you are not too slow).

Yes, ingame support also confirms that speed and accuracy of spellcasting is the key.

Balance of both seems to produce more great and masterful attacks.

    Thanks for WUtube hints!

Professors seem to have an advantage in getting Masterful casts, as they can get more Accuracy than the other 2 professions, and a Lot more than Aurors.

Every WUtuber I've seen getting Masterful casts happens to be a Professor... Hmmm.....

Oh! Forgot to add which channel I watch the most:

    @Wizard News

He's the most accurate and up to date I've found in the US.

The spell quality is completely reliant on how well you perform the trace in a short time frame.

When you cast, watch the arrow on the top bar quickly run to the left as you hold your finger down. Depending on how accurately you traced, it will then go up or down from there. Masterful is only given to perfect traces in short time frames. The color of the trace will indicate how well it was traced, with bright green being perfect.

Professors just happen to be skilled finger artisans. ;)

@M3lk0r Then what is it that causes the arrow to move back to the right at the end of a cast?

At first, it was thought this was due to the accuracy of the trace alone (And this still Maybe the case. But we know there is some RNG used elsewhere, where there shouldn't be, or else we wouldn't see things like Confoundables Resisting 2 Great casts, and then falling to a Fair cast.), but then people noticed even inaccurate casts having the arrow move back to the right.

There was a fairly long thread about it somewhere, Reddit maybe? And people were wondering what else might be causing it to happen. It was determined that it only happened to players above level 6. But the thread died out before anything could be decided for certain.

Me thinking it might be the higher accuracy of Profs can certainly be observer error because most people in the thread Were playing Professors. ;)

So player level definitely helps. Every 5th level, the difficulty to beat confoundables drops dramatically.

I haven't quite figured out why some crappy casts get categorized as better than others. As long as the trace of your finger covers the guiding line, it qualifies as perfect, even if it looks shaky. But speed really is the determining factor.
