@Tracklvr you are on part 2/4? Is the problem that the game is telling you you have to wait for friends to open gifts? If so, is it worth it to friend a few people on here long enough to send out your five gifts and then pull them from your list (unless you want to keep them as friends)?
@Bormacska I sent gifts to all of my friends right before the event and none of them have been opened in the past few days. If it wasn't a problem with the game, then I was going to get a bunch of new friends to send gifts to. Just wanted to check first. 😁
All of the gifts collected from week one and now the ornaments makes me want a tree on my map to decorate and put the gifts underneath. 🎄🎁🎅 Oh @hpwulola aka Santa, can we work on something like that for next year?
@kiheikid so I started the bonus assignment today and chain chugging potions for the 30 brilliant traces. So I am thinking to myself I am about a third of the way there on my 4th exstimulo and I go look and I am at 3 baubles. WHAT THE CLUCK??? The exact verbiage is "Collect Baubles From Brilliant Traces" - so I was hitting up the brilliant traces, ya know the purple plume thingys. Why am I not getting credit for them all? Anyone else having this issue?

@ClairabusGryff & @Bormacska - yup, i commiserate ... i wasted quite a bit of time and spell energy (and my wife wasted even more) before i checked online here. i have suggested/asked the @HPWUTeam to at least fix the description of the assignment to stop misleading people,
if this were a brick-and-mortar store and niantic’s HPWU updates were a tangible product being sold, these guys would lose a lot of customers for releasing something that breaks so often, even in spectacular fashion
but if this were a dealer of certain kinds of substances and we are the junkies/addicts, no need for them to worry about normal customer relations ... that product could be full of all kinds of nasty stuff and many or even most of us would still come back for more until ... 😵☠️
not the best analogy, perhaps, but maybe it explains some of the counter-intuitive stuff that the game developers do or fail to do, time and again, without suffering normal business consequences like a brick-and-mortar operation would.
@Bormacska thank you for clarifying...I asked 3 questions about the verbiage of the "tasks" and made the assumption on that one as BRILLIANT TRACES is one thing - purple plumey thingys - so it would be uber nice if they would specify somewhere and all players are not able to come to this site to find out what they are doing wrong. I didn't really start stalking this site until I had played for about 6 weeks and the amount of resources I wasted was insane. And get this...there were times that my cauldron wasn't going because I had no clue how to really use the potions. But I digress...
@kiheikid yes, I do feel like an HP junkie...anything HP related really. And I was thinking about it the other day. The reason I love HP so much is that I read the first book in 1999 in one day on a plane to NYC and was staying in a $500 a night hotel on Time's Square and stayed up the whole night to finish the book and didn't leave my hotel room. Got zero sleep but the way I felt when I read the first book was nothing I have ever experienced before. And I think it was basically pure bliss and happiness. The things i imagined in my mind prior to the movies coming out of course. And to this day 20 years later, the joy I feel when I hear or see anything HP related brings me back to that night in 1999 in Times Square reading a book for kid's I might add. So the first thing I do in the morning is open the game so that I hear the HP music as it puts me in an instant good mood.
@ClairabusGryff - that is the good part of being an HP junkie. a bad part is that junkies are not respected as customers by the dealers ... it’s easier for them to find new junkies than for them to actually work hard to keep the existing junkies happy or even content or even less disgruntled or even as-long-as-they’re-not-rioting

Or is the game giving you a different message?

The downside of friends with too many friends and not enough opening power for all the gifts.

It is week 2 brilliants only that count. The verbiage stinks for that task. 🙄😢

@ClairabusGryff @Bormacska - a lightbulb just came on for me 💡
