Using your keys

It's best to use your gold key to unlock your 2 km portmanteaus. I also prefer to save silver keys for the 5 and 10 km portmanteaus.

This will increase the number of portmanteaus you can unlock while generally allowing you to open your 5 and 10 within a reasonable time.

    I agree though not the philosophy I’ve taken. I use them on any portkey that I can. You tend to get Moreno via leveling or releasing confoundables, so I just use them. Also, stack up the portkeys and use a BBE with it for double XP.

    Oh yeah, stacking with a brain potion is also a great idea.

    I plan to stay ftp as long as I can so I tend to think the same way as OP. Mainly I try to save my silver keys for 10k's only, unless I only have 2 or 3 more locked Portmanteaus and I get impatient. I know we get a key or two each time we level, but that isn't a sustainable source. And getting them randomly as bonus items isn't reliable/frequent enough for me to feel like I can just spend them anytime I want.

    I try to resist the urge of using my silver keys on the 2km, but it is really hard, LOL...The chance of getting solid rewards, even out of the 2km portkeys, seems like it may be worth it. Especially if you have a Baruffio's on and streak a couple XP nodes in the portkey.

    I'm not saying use every silver key ****-nilly, but occasionally using it on a few of them isn't the worst. :)

    @Mysra - You can hold 8 at a time

    I know that the 10km portkeys are gold instead of grey, so that could be something to look out for on your map. I believe you can hold 8 portkeys at one time.

    I'm doing the same with using my gold key for the 2km Portkeys as much as possible, but then I've come from PoGo and I do the same thing there with the 2km eggs and the free perma-incubator :D

    @mentalpiracy you can not distinguish portmanteau type until after you pick them up.
