and have not yet prestiged this LOH page:
so i can try to find a 9and3/4 flag and pop a tonic (easy to find but a much further drive about 45 minutes awat) or an LOH flag (not sure if libraries count; otherwise no idea where) and pop a tonic
FOUR: if fortress fragments count, i could also use up a bunch of runestones to try to grrrrind for those fragments BUT unfortunately that is risky when return rate is 10% to 70% and you might get no exploration family foundable fragment at all or a fragment for a different foundable whose image is already placed. for me, the only two families whose fortress-foundables are safe to grind for are Oddities and WOWW.

Those are pretty silver frames on those oddity pages @kiheikid! And boy am I in trouble if this claim is true about the non-placed images! Like you, it's all the rare ones that are sitting open. But usually hpwu isn't that mean (minus the slow 12 potions 😉). Also is this direct from the almighty Fazes? I haven't read her post in discord yet, so I'll ask them if anyone can confirm this...

@Bormacska - thank you for sharing that info — option FIVE (combo) it is!
plus brilliant silver hufflepuff gargoyle is a new portkey foundable that you need 5 fragments to place anyway (with no time deadline during this weeklong event), and it is available.
that task 2/4 requires us to unlock 4 portpanteaus (but don’t open the portkeys yet!). just having the 4 portkeys unlocked and ready is sufficient for task 2/4.
then, wait until task 4/4 and now open those 4 portkeys unlocked back then — that should give you 4 extra fragments toward the 20 required (assuming they are CD portkeys and the WAH and/or HH foundable images are not currently already placed, or new brilliant portkeys)
@kiheikid sounds like as usual you have a pretty flawless plan. I am glad I asked the question because I didn't think it could be as simple as just 10 fragments. It had to be actual frags. So since Christmas is a week away it would be awesome if the HRWU team gave us more of all of those rare foundables we all so desperately need. **HINT HINT**

by the way, if we save our brilliant runestones until task 4/4, we can try to get the fortress foundable brilliant haughty draco malfoy then and that would be another 3 eligible fragments to count toward the 20.
and yes, i am hoping for lots more ebublio trace spawns of the boggart cabinet, young tom riddle, percival graves, and the goblet of fire !

for what it’s worth, the collect 20 fragments assignment in task 4/4 was easier for me to finish than the collect 15 ebublio trace baubles.
as if right now,
back at home where i’ll pop a TTD later and hope some more ebublio traces appear, while i wait for my last 2 potions to finish brewing. then tomorrow, i’ll finish “walking” off the last 3 brilliant portkeys in my queue so i can place the brilliant gargoyle image.
the 20 fragments were cobbled together: 6 from fortress battles (including 3 brilliant draco fragments); 6 from portkeys (2 brilliant gargoyle fragments, plus 2 HH fragments and 2 WAH fragments from 4 of my leftover CD 1km portmanteaus); 6 from the new brilliant foundables (4 brilliant fred + angelina, and 2 brilliant harry + parvati); 1 george weasley; and this bad boy:
Wow! 4/4 already? I am stuck on 2/4, but we all knew portkeys would be my nemesis with my foot. On the plus side, I am out of the cast and in a fracture boot, which means I can walk short distances without crutches (and have the game open!) so I may well be able to get past it this afternoon, if I go on a little jaunt.
Thanks for the concern, @kiheikid and @Bormacska. My plan was a taxi ride somewhere, but I can do a little walking or cycling on the other end, now. There is a sale I really want to go to, but the shop is up two flights of stairs and I am not sure I am quite there yet.

Horrible suggestion, go up the stairs backwards on your bum. (preferably with a bag or something underneath for protection)
(yes, I have done this with a walking boot on to get to an appointment in a building where the elevator was broken.) people look at you funny, don't offer to help, and I sat in gum - hence the bag suggestion for under your bum.

I just know that today is the last day of the sale and it is a narrow, spiral staircase (which makes even bottom ascents tricky) and there is no guarantee they will have anything left in my size! I have insanely big feet and this is one of very few shops that fit me. I will see how I feel after lunch

the task of defeating 30 fortress foes is also one of the 12 Tasks of Christmas starting on Friday, Dec.20th, sooooooooo ...
why not wait until then, defeat your 30 foes, and get credit for doing so both as part of this bonus assignment AND as part of the 12 Tasks of Christmas ?!

@Majikum - supposedly, the giftboxes (if any) being rewarded at a POI change on the hour at the top of the hour. if that holds true, an inn or greenhouse not giving out a giftbox at 20 minutes past the hour is not likely to do so for the rest of the hour either. therefore, best to move from inn to inn and, when you find one that gives out a giftbox you are happy with, sit there and keep collecting every 5mins for as long as you can until the next hour starts, and then re-evaluate snd move on if necessary. fortresses are supposed to give runestone giftboxes as rewards 100% of the time as long as you were successful in battle. good luck to ya, and happy hunting!

my wife and i started last night, and both returned brilliant hagrid+MadameMaxime within the last 15 minutes but received no bauble as additional reward
the bonus assignment simply says ...
... “collect baubles from brilliant traces” without limiting that to just week2’s brilliant traces.
so we are wondering whether (A) we were just unlucky recently but should keep trying when encountering the brilliant traces from week1, or (B) we should ignore those week1 brilliant traces because they are not supposed to return baubles (in which case the assignment page is misleading)

I'm only getting from wk 2 brilliants, so am ignoring the week 1 brilliants unless I have SE to burn. Currently at 21/30, and unless I missed one or two last night, all 21 are from wk 2 brilliants.

too bad the assignment language that everyone sees in-app is flawed. hopefully, @HPWUTeam can fix that language in-app before even more folks waste their time and spell energy on the week1 brilliants in pursuit of the bonus assignment task.
I've been sending gifts to people in the past but it doesn't appear as if they are opening them. Is anyone else having a glitch where the game isn't correctly saying their gifts are being opened? I know my friends have been on the game and they have sent me gifts but mine are still appearing as unopened. I'm stuck on that assignment. Or maybe they're just not opening them. 🤷♀️
@Tracklvr I think the issue is they're unopened due to the 10 gift opening limit. I'd suggest adding some new friends for the task, even temporarily. You can send a gift and then remove.
