I have 5 portkeys to open so I am going to pop a Baruffio's today and I made a list of the extravagant gifts I have so I will open them today with the BBE. I only have you, Kihekid, and Owlx that I know from this forum and the rest of my "friends" I don't know. So anyone who posts here regularly I would love to be "Friends". Sending out gifts to people I know from this forum means so much more to me then just randomly sending. So if anyone needs another friend I am happy to friend you. Like I seriously go out and find specific gifts for people. Up to this week I tried to always send Kihekid extravagant spell energy because I know he is in a remote area and needs energy, this week I switched to runestones for Kihekid because of the CD coming up.
Sorry I didn't mean to hi-jack and do the friend code thing here. But for the first five months of playing this game I just came here to figure out how to play the game and have learned so much from everyone and just recently really started posting. I wish we could send messages individually in this game/forum so I could message someone to ask to be friends instead of just randomly posting here.
@Magpie31 - stuck at home until this afternoon (so i can’t go out pottering until then to try to pick up giftboxes with which to reciprocate ... basically how i try to keep track of list, ie., send one, open one, send one, open one). but, i can open yours now and just remember to send you something later when i can go pick it up! thank you for thinking of me!! 🤙🏼

i get as much joy watching her open giftboxes as i get from opening my own. i even caught her one time doing a little happy dance (not hula, more of a shimmy) when she got the family runestone that she had wanted.
by the way, after running out of them, i now have 3 COMC runestones (one from ranking up and two from giftboxes), so i’ll try my luck again later for that elusive final winged abraxan horse fragment (before CD).

@kiheikid as always thanks for the CD links! Really glad someone mentioned the part about saving extravagant gifts for CD day. I have been saving up a pile and will have a few to gift out if anyone here will need one to reach their 10 max. I prefer gifting with real people too @ClairabusGryff knowing that makes the gifting all the more fun!
if you go to family foundables tab (document opens to challenge foundables tab), you can see research results by fortress chamber level for each individual fortress family foundable that you might be grrrrinding for !

@ClairabusGryff - i am a big believer in that chart. i was hunting specifically for WAH and that chart suggested tower chamber 4 (among others) for COMC runestone levels 1 and 3, and tower chamber 1 (among others) for COMC runestone level 2. as it turned out, my first COMC runestone level 3 yielded a HAgrid’s Hut fragment, my COMC runestone level 1 yielded a puffskein frsgment (also 15/15), my COMC runestone level 2 yielded no family fragment ... and i thought i was done for the day. but i opened up another runestone giftbox as the last one of the day, and from it received a COMC level 3 runestone, and headed back into tower chamber 4, where this time i received WAH 15/15.

@kiheikid thank you kindly for the rune, it was a DA one but I did receive a CMC one from someone else and got no fragments. So that is two days of like 5 CMC runes and not a single fragment. Not good luck on that front in the last 48 but hey that's how it goes. So tomorrow I will be walking a ton of those special portkeys out. I have like 25 keys but hate to use a key for a half a kilometer walk. Decisions decisions...
Today I am brewing strong exstimulo potions all day and tonight I will line up two more potents...Not sure if I will bother with Dawdle's since it sounds like there will be plenty of traces around especially with TTD. Correct me if I am wrong here anyone?

@ClairabusGryff - your approach makes sense to me; i would bust out the dawdles nearing end of CD’s 3 hours (say, final 20-30 mins) to squeeze out every last emergency or severe fragments unless i already prestiged and the next hurdle is ridiculous so one or two fragments might not matter as much
ps: i can send you another runestone giftbox after reset at my 12:01am (your 3:01am or 4:01am) , in case you want to hit the fortress before CD starts on saturday. is texas central time or mountain time ? (could be both since it is so big !!)
here are chart excerpts for success % in which chamber depending on which COMC fragment you are hunting:
plus overall success rates (for all families) per chamber depending on your runestone level (first set of i-v is ruins, next is tower, then is forest, last is dark):
@kiheikid Where I live in Texas is CST. I am in San Antonio. West Texas, El Paso on up is part of Mountain time. And thank you for the runestones. I am so appreciative. I will do what I can before the CD starts but am hoping to be able to walk off a ton of the portkeys as my portkey space is free except for the one I am unlocking right now. So I will have 8 spots by morning time. Do you plan on using silver keys for the portkeys tomorrow during CD? I just don't think I can justify using one tomorrow.

@ClairabusGryff - yes, i do plan to use silver keys ... real question is how many. i have 14 in my vault but want to save a bunch for brilliant week 2 starting tuesday in case opening large number of portkeys is a task.
next question is how early i might prestige page (based on getting 7 more buckbeaks, since i now have placed all other foundable images on that first comc registry page).
remember we have cd task to open 5 portkeys during cd 3 hours in order to qualify for red books reward. BUT i am not going to open any portkeys until after prestige or else i waste those fragments. if it takes too long to prestige and not much time left in 3 hours, i am willing to give up the 3 red books rewards and stick to my plan.
current best guess is i would use maybe 4 or 5 silver keys during cd 3 hours (after prestige) and rely exclusively on gold key to open one at a time afterwards.
** remember free store pack for CD has 2 silver keys plus 1 potent exstimulo!!

since I need several frags of the Abraxan Horse and Hagrid’s Hut 8 and 5 respectively and 7 Buckbeaks I may have a while before I prestige. So I may use some of my keys to have them all going simultaneously to unlock and while the are unlocking I will try to get my Buckbeaks. Then Prestige! After that it’s just gravy as I doubt I will be able to prestige that page twice.

@ClairabusGryff - haha, no way i (or most people) can prestige twice ... my guess is that # of fragments required to place image will double for most foundables on that page at next prestige level and who knows how many emergency hagrids will be needed at next prestige level and can be gotten in 3 hours (less the time it takes me to get 7 buckbeaks and then prestige)?! happy hunting tomorrow!

in order to prestige up to silver, folks would need:
14 WAH
14 HH
14 Hagrid
24 Baby Norwegian Ridgeback
and (better sit down first)

so, definitely not prestiging twice.
from nothing to bronze prestige will be fine for me.

ps: do your “walking” via shopping center parking lot crawl and you’ll definitely open up a lot of portkeys assuming you are willing to use some silver keys.
the brilliant silver hufflepuff gargoyle foundable requires 5 fragments obtained from the 3km brilliant portkey portmanteaus.
the guide recommends saving 4 CD portkeys of 1km to open at task 2/4 of brilliant week2, BUT that will mean using more keys. alternative is to open 4 brilliant portkeys of 3km each to satisfy task 2/4 since you need those fragments inside anyway — your choice!
Just giving my take on this morn- i think im simply too stingy to be using my silver keys on the portmanteaus lol! Cos they will open so fast & il be doing lots of pottering around - so il keep them opening with the gold key.
I think after prestiging il be happy enough with getting those fragments in the fortress later.
I only use silver keys in 10k ones or in brilliant events if i want to finish a task quicky, evdn then its usually only one, two at asolute maximum. I think i have a silver key hoarding issue!! Lol
Hope it goes well for all today! Ive got plenty exstimulos ready for prestiging at least the once, and im sure wel all b well on the way to silver. Iv had real problems getting buckbeak so thank goodness for today!!
