I just found a fortress today. You have to start on the first level, so I used level 1 Rune stones. Then the second level opened up and I used #2 Ruin stones, and then the same with level 3. I have way more #1 Ruin stones though. I don’t know if it will ever show that level #1 is complete, or level #2, etc.
I haven’t used any potions or scrolls. I don’t know what to do with the scrolls. I have to look it up. I seem to be doing well though, and achieving a lot.
The Runestone type affects what your reward collectible will be. The Runestone level acts as a difficulty and XP modifier. So a level 1 Runestone used in Chamber 3 would be easier and less lucrative than a level 2 runestone in the same chamber. But a level 1 Runestone used in Chamber 4 would be harder than that. I am told that you should be able to solo roughly as high a chamber as your profession level - I'm assuming with a 1 Runestone. However, I found I was able to solo L4 Chamber at L2 Professor....I just used some potions to do it. 😎
However, if you want to level up fast you can spamm Chamber 1 with Level 1 Runestones using a Baruffios potion. You’ll get 500XP per run and you’ll only spend 4 spell energy (2 per monster avg.) Doing the same thing on uper levels will spend more energy and only +20XP per lever (lvl1 500xp, lvl2 520xp,...)
Be sure you have full energy and around 20 runestones to maximize the baruffios potion.
Ok so if we want to use our stone juste to complete our rewards, its better than use all our stone in level 1 chamber, right? There is no reward wich can be collected only in high levels chambers?
yes but i mean, just for the collectible, is the drop increasing with the level of the chamber? @moirablackcat seamed to say that the drop increases just with the level of the stone, so it would mean that it s better to do a level 5 stone in the first chamber if it s just to complete the register...

been running L1 runes in L3 Chambers until i run out, then get more from diagon alley

@Melkah To unlock higher levels in the fortress it will be easier to use level 1 runestones as the enemies will be easier to defeat.
I think the higher the runestone is, the harder the enemies and better the prizes will get even when entering the first floor.
To complete the daily reward you should do whatever suits you better. Depending on how much time, energy and potions you have to spend.

Same as others, I use level 1 runes in level 1 challenges to grind XP, level 1 runes in higher level challenges if I want to see how far I can get.
I use higher level runes on challenges as hard as I think I can get away with if I am trying for good drops.
