certainly a convenient way might be to add a button that sends thank you when you accept a gift but is it truly a thank you if all we have to do is hit a button ?
as a rural player, i thank the many kind folks (sorry i did not keep track of all the names) who sent me gift boxes, especially spell energy !! i am most grateful.

I have a small suggestion that I think will improve it further, which a friend mentioned from my local group. A sorting feature that at least temporarily puts everyone who has sent you a gift at the top of the friends list would be a great addition. This will especially be useful to those with long friends lists, so they won’t have to scroll down through their list as much.
@DubiousAffairs This isn't part of the mormal inventory. There is no place you can buy more. However this is classic Niantic misscommunication. First message said you can hold 100 (interpetation; if I dont give out all gifts every day I can accumulate up to 100 gifts before I have to delete them), second message said you can collect 100 (and open 10)(interpetation; I can only get 100 gifts every day; be careful of what you delete) and when it was live you can see in the game that you have 30 slots for gifts.
Conclution: you can open 10 gifts. you can hold 30 gifts at a time. how many you can acctually collect every day remains a mystery, in PoGo it is 100. Still better than PoGo where you can only hold 10 (i think) Other than that it seems the same.
In order to see the gifts sent to you just go to your friends list page. If anyone has sent you a gift you will be able to see the type of gift they have sent to you. If you then click the ‘open’ button you will be able to see further information on the gift and then be able to open the gift. The same page can be used to send gifts to friends as well. I hope this answers your question. 😊

Since we can only open 10 gifts each day , I think it best to only open the gifts that we value most . I’ve kept a few of the spell energy and ingredients, so if you care for those , add me and we can exchange those . Seems odd I can send many more gifts than I can open, I have several awaiting today’s rollover into tomorrow, logjam pending sale I will probably receive more tomorrow

@HPWULola im having trouble with my gifts feature! Its half past midnight here so my timer reset & the boxes weren't greyed out anymore.
I clicked open gift, and got the message saying sorry u can't open it as you've opened your quota for today!? But then at top it still says opened 0/10. Even worse the gift had then disappeared and ine was an extravagant one!
So i closed & restarted app, thankfully the unopened gifts were back, but when i went to open one again i got same hapoening as above?
Ive taken screenshots- am i doing something wrong? Or is it a bug? Not sure what to do!?
P.s hellooooo! Im back now after a break for an awful week was write my Grams eulogy, funeral was Tues, things in early stages of split with hubby all bit weird so wasnt in a good place for a while.
But time to soldier on now, and the game has kept me going, coming bsck to the new gift feature is awesone!!! Just need to know why its not working for me?

I am totally loving the new gifting feature!! Its awesome & brings that bit more lovliness to my day helps me get through this rubbish time im crawling thru atm.
Just was thinking though - is anyone else finding it hard with only being able to open 10 per day that theres a sort of bottle neck comes when i cant send gifts to my friends cos they havent been able to open some yet, and equally im unable to open some sent day before yesterday as there are quite a few friends, a solid 30 ive had for all the time since started, has now gone to 60 lol. So theres a lot to open.
And as others have said we want to reciprocate to our friends in kind. So i love it, but also feel that people might think im being rude not opening their gifts yet! But with a meagre 10 per day its hard!
Do you think the team might consider expanding it @HPWULola@HPWUrobert to maybe something like a limit of 2 extravagant, 3 Essential, then 5 each of the runes, spell energy & ingredients? Making 20 per day but making sure the balance is spread and then the friends list wont get as 'clogged' in choosing one type of gift over another?
Just a thought & no harm in asking- thought it worth a try lol 😊

@HPWUModEN - although HPWU wants to encourage making friends and gift giving, i doubt HPWU wants to encourage the more venal aspects, such as a person promising a gift to someone in return, if that someone first sends a gift to that person ... such a situation slides down the slippery **** toward scam. i hope the @HPWUTeam deletes those kinds of “promises” (even if a genuine exchange were intended) and, for repeat offenders, implements appropriate discipline/penalties.
trolling for gifts with the lure of a promised gift in return just rubs the absolute wrong way, you know ??
pretty sure the right spirit of giving is simply giving for its own sake, with no expectation of return payment/gift. if anything comes in return afterwards, that is a bonus.
@hpwulola This is a great feature, but the 10 gift limit on opening gifts is a serious hindrance. Especially when the event challenges require you to send so many to complete a task. Unfortunately the majority that I've sent have gone unopened, and I dont want to have to find random "friends" in forums just to be able to send a gift.
Could you maybe limit the number of how many gifts you can send to friends in a day rather than limit how many we can open in a day? And then make it so that we can open 200 in a day, since that's the cap of friends? Essentially you'd could be opening 1 gift a day from every friend.
Or limit the number of gifts from each type to like 15 from each (45 a day). It'd make things a little more even and give people a chance to send a few more gifts to friends already in their list.
It really is a great new addition and I enjoy seeing all the different Points of Interest, and getting spell energy gifts since I have nothing near my home.

now that the feature is live some questions are answered:
"You’ll be able to store a maximum of 100 Gifts in your inventory and can open a maximum of 10 Gifts per day."
Don't seem to be completly true. It lookes like you can hold 30 gifts total and then 100 is probably maximum daily collect.
I honestly believe they are missing a huge oportunity not implementing friends-levels, and I hope they will do so in the not to distant future.
