Community Map
Perhaps I am missing how it is supposed to work. I was assuming the map and ability to "post" about your local group was a way to bring players together in the same geographical area. I really like the map and the ability to tag your location so that your post shows up on the map.
However, local groups don't want to have all of their discussions take place on this awkward forum. I figured the first step would be to post about your group and a way to contact them (most likely a Discord invite link). However, new users are not allowed to post links. So that throws a wrench into the process. So now another player sees the post and comments. But there are no notifications sent to the original poster, so they never know someone commented on there post unless they keep going back to look at it.
Hey look, someone commented. Let me contact them... There seems to be no way to DM folks. I suppose I can just comment as well, let me see if user tags are supported. Hey! I can tag them, maybe they will get a notification. Oops. Nope. I can't really tag. It's considered a link and I'm not allowed to use those yet.
This is an extremely frustrating process. I really appreciate the map and what they are attempting to do. However I have to say the system is broken. Most people coming here looking for other players will be new. To block posting links, is preventing the very thing you are trying to accomplish. Connecting players.

I agree @BrokkTheViking that both the game and forum need to do a better job of communication. The app needs to allow it between friends and the forum needs to allow direct messaging. But here we are...
@MrSciGuy and @BrokkTheViking we have an entire couple of dozen discussion lines going all the way back to the beginning of the game on this and I don't think you will find disagreement from any of us that better communication is needed in-app and through the forums. One of the best discussions I've seen for in-app messaging is this one: https://community.harrypotterwizardsunite.com/en/discussion/comment/18616#Comment_18616
and as many of the long-time forum members have noted, if we get enough people to up-vote an idea, they often take us seriously and have even implemented a few! 😀
