just wondering, is there a way to change font type & size of text in this forum ?

(pet peeve is that the arabic numeral one “1” looks like a capital letter “I” as in indigo, in this font)

(also would like to be able to adjust the font size to be slightly larger for ease of reading)

    Partly, yes.

The forum has a set of pre-defined patterns, it is not possible however to further customize them:

    Codeblocks

    Headlines

    Quotes

    Paragraphs

    Spoilers

    1. Ordered Lists

    • Bulleted Lists

As for your Question, Codeblocks have a different font, making it easier to tell 1 and I apart.

    For testing purposes only:

    [style size="30px"]Big Words[/style]

Didn’t work. What @Lucoire pointed out is what we’ve got. This forum (VanillaForums) supports some BB code, but not all. I asked @HPWULola if they could install the advanced editor plugin a while back.

And bold doesn’t really look bold... codeblocks is sometimes colored and extremely hard to read.... there’s a bunch of formatting stuff that is just wonky.

so i’m guessing the answers to my questions are no to other font styles and no to larger font sizes? (i have no idea where or what is this codeblock talked about; i would just like to set my font style and size once and for all)

    BIG HONKIN' WORDS.

The only way to achieve larger font is by choosing heading (H2) in the formatting options. On desktop, it's to the left of the post editor. On mobile, it's below. If you want to adjust the font size for all content you see on this site, you'd have to do that in your browser settings, but that of course would apply to all sites. Even with the advanced editor installed, it doesn't appear as if you can change the font family. So yeah, the answers to your questions are no. This forum platform is very basic and lacks most of the features pretty much anyone would want.
