Does the House you're in make a difference?

Does anyone know if they plan to implement something in a future update that will make choosing a House relevant somehow? Pokemon GO has different teams, which dictate if you can leave a pokemon in a gym or battle the gym, and I'm just wondering if something similar might happen for the Hogwarts Houses. Right now, you're able to switch Houses whenever you want, making it quite pointless to choose at all. It'd be nice if there was a purpose behind them.

    It does not.


    I went to Pottermore a long time ago to find my house and that's what I used for the game.


    The house in the game doesn't change gameplay in any way... it's just what you affiliate with.
