To add to last week- this week has started out pretty awesome- McGonagall two days straight!! I kid u not!! First cast, both times! Woohoo 😀
Plus got Grawp yesterday too & the goblet of fire, and Monday got womping willow too. So this week has been off to a pretty good start I think.
I also maxed out my first family- Oddities. I didnt know we could max them out!! The sign came up & said continue to find oddities for further rewards. But i was very taken aback. I presume a few of you guys are way ahead of me & have maxed out more than 1 family. But what happens next!? No more chests or oddity runes? Whaaaat!!? Lol. So yeh...that happened today & I'm confused. But that's usual 😂

@AuroraKadavra Nice start to the week 😊 Also, you’re not daft, you’re awesome 😎 I get what you mean with regards to maxing out a family and it’s happened to others as well, including me. I haven’t yet done it on the normal confoundable families, but I did it during the previous brilliant event and wasn’t sure until I ranked up again and realised you still get a rune and scrolls. I found out about the normal families maxing out after that and only recently through someone else mentioning it on the forums here.
With regards to general confoundables, I finally came across Percival Graves for the first time, but things didn’t go well. As soon as I went and clicked the potent extimulo potion before doing a trace it didn’t show it was being used. I went to click it again and it said it didn’t exist then got stuck with an error coming up mentioning a network issue. The app had to be restarted, so I lost the potion and didn’t get a chance to do a trace. I think that was the first time I was annoyed enough to say something to my phone and generally the WiFi connection out loud. I had someone with me then as well and they were just like, what’s going on 😂
I also had Firenze depart on me today. Looks like he wasn’t happy with me either.
Next time Firenze and Percival. Next time. 😂
Anyway, I’m still happy I got to see Percival. Now I just have one more confoundable left that I have not yet seen.

@Imaginatio that is definitely the worst of luck what happened with Graves!!! I love how u say that's the first time you were compelled to 'talk' out loud to your phone! I wish i had your patience!! Even halfway thru u saying what happened i was picturing myself, air blue, hands waving around and screaming at the phone 'dont you dare...oh no u dont.. dont even!! RIGHT ! That's it......' the rest would be an unintelligible string of sounds, with a few words we all know well im sure, added just to show the game I REALLY mean it!! 😂

I need to ask about Brown centaurs too, speaking of Firenze departing- i have honestly only ever seen 2!! Ever! Since start of the game! Whats with that!? Il do a search & see if theres something im missing about their timings. Ive noticed @Overflow4487 and i think its @Acumen get them virtually every day! Ive seen and caught Dumbledore more than that!
I haven’t seen Firenze even once 😭 or Dumbledore. The Dumbledore portrait I’ve only gotten through fortresses. I just keep getting gobstones over and over.
Ahhh @LeFayeofAlbion Lefay that's proper made me feel sad for you!! Really! I think u mentioned u are in a bit of a remote area, which must be having some effect perhaps on the confoundables but it shouldn't! That's so unfair!
Made me giggle about the gobstones- i must get them at least 15-20 times a day too. One day i got Bogrod about 8 times in a row- it got ridiculous- was laughing with hubby- i said 'if this is Bogrod again the phone's going off!' Must have been a glitch perhaps cos nothing else was there.
I think your luck will change when you hit level 30 & everyone will start appearing for you then. My spidey senses are telling me it will be so 😀

I definitely yell out spells when they refuse to work. 🤪 When I was struggling to find formidable pixies I used to hiss Peskipixie pesternomi when other types of pixies appeared instead.

Speaking of the Dumbledore portrait, I've only seen it once on the map, otherwise it's from drops. When I saw it, I was like "What is this?! I didn't know there was a new foundable." Then realized what it was. Haven't seen it since. For a medium foundable, it's rarer than rare!
Chuffed to bits today as I got my very first swooping evil! Now if I could only find a McGonagal, Buckbeak, Tom Riddle, Prickle, Dumbledore, Hermione.... (and on and on!).
The rarity of the confoundables only adds to the overall experience in my opinion. My wife finds it hilarious when I stop in the middle of the street going “Nooooo!” when something departs on me!

I’m really looking forward to seeing a whomping willow and/or a unicorn. I’m level 30 (L10 professor) that only really gets out and about at weekends. Any tips on where to find them?
Gosh, that's a hard one. I've only seen the whomping willow a few times, and don't think there was a pattern to it. Same with the unicorn. If others have picked up on a pattern, I'd love to know, but really, I think it's just luck of the draw. Today on way to work, I found Hagrid. I don't know I've seen him in that same spot before, and although it's not raining, the app says it is.
@Dewin99 see if you can find a flagged area of the relevant family, it might help. It’s a bonus if that area has an inn there. But otherwise, just patience. They usually show up eventually. I still have one which I think I haven’t come across at all yet. I’m the same levels as you, but a Magizoologist
Also, I finally got my first Goblet of fire fragment. I had come across it before, but completely forgot to use a potion and did a trace - as you can imagine, it departed immediately 🤦♀️. I’ve got a fragment now though, so all good - just ten more fragments to go.
There are three completely blank holes in my Registry. Two of those are the Dragons that didn't appear here during the Day of the Dragons, the other one is Tom Riddle. I've never seen him, and never received a single fragment from either Portkeys or Fortresses so far.
@Dewin99 oh no. It’s very annoying when that happens. Hopefully that won’t happen next time. Fingers crossed. And yep, looks like getting to gold will be an entirely different journey of its own. We’ll get there...eventually 😊

On another note, a short while after seeing the goblet of fire I came across McGonagall, but the app got stuck again as soon as I clicked the potent extimulo, then the app restarted and the trace was gone. This is the second time this has happened, and it caused me to lose another potent extimulo potion; the first time was when I first saw Percival.
This time, when I clicked the potent extimulo potion it kept refreshing, once it got back to the trace the potent extimulo wasn’t showing on the side as it usually does, but I didn’t go back into the potions section again because of what happened when I saw Percival. However, once I tried doing the trace it said something like the potent extimulo is already in use, then it got stuck and restarted.
This hasn’t happened yet with any of the other extimulo potions, just the potent one. I thought the first time it may have been just to do with the WiFi, maybe it was, maybe this time was to do with the WiFi as well and it was a coincidence that it happened again during the next time I used a potent extimulo potion after Percival. But I can’t say for sure if it’s a bug or coincidence though, until I end up using another potent extimulo potion. Hopefully it won’t glitch again.
I’m actually more annoyed with the glitch because I lost the potions rather than because I lost the trace. Those potions take ages to brew and those unicorn hairs aren't always found easily. Anyway, hopefully it won’t happen again and I can forget about these incidents. We shall have to wait and see.
Oh no @Imaginatio how frustrating! I'm not very techy, so I don't even have any troubleshooting advice, I just really hope it doesn't happen to you again!

Amendment to previous post, just ranked up oddities again but now realise it just stays at max level but still get scrolls & rune lol. Panic over.
In my defence it was my first max out & I am clearly rather daft so 'twas only to be expected! Lol 😂
