Prefer to choose direction

I prefer that when I'm walking that the direction I'm going is at the top of the screen instead of always North.

    I completely agree! I want to be able to face the direction I choose and not have it spin back to it's default of North. I don't always walk north and I'd like to see the path ahead of me on the map.

    This is so strange, as it does always spin to whichever direction I am going for me! Except for when it occasionally bugs out and gets stuck and I restart the app and all is fine.

    What phone are you using? The view typically follows the compass. Have you tried tapping on the compass at the top of the screen?

    If you turn off "Map Camera Idle" in the settings menu, it will stop trying to orient the map based on your phone's compass.

    It would be great. And maybe add the possibility to not zoom on the map each time we leave a trace !

    When Ingress came out, they gave the option of static or dynamic compass. However, they never quite got it right in that if you chose dynamic, it never was accurate. I believe they fixed that since (though I haven't played Ingress in a long time). There should be a choice... static for those who want it and dynamic for those who prefer that. There are times where I want to hold the view at a certain angle and it would be nice to have that option.

    I think this should be second priority on their list to fix. First needs to be the balance of spell energy in the game.
