What an awesome event. You really nailed it with this one.

Plenty of dragons, plenty of XP, plenty of runestones. I may be a little biased as oddities are my favourite.

Of course I have a few stats!

130,000xp (with baruffio on for the duration

20 Oddity runestones

84 Chinese Fireballs

51 Antidopean Opaleye

And to top it all off I saw a Chinese Fireball sitting in an inn. I guess he was extinguishing his fireball.

@CytopeAchen You will have so much fun. I levelled up shortly after the event finished.

Lower levels should expect a level or two.

Chinese Fireballs award about 1200xp with baruffilo potion. It would be quite silly to pass that up by getting every spawn.

Stick with dragons and you'll do great.

This event is really awesome. I luckily caught 96 Chinese fireballs, 62 vipertooth with a total of 210K wizarding XP to level up to Lvl 39. Oddities family rank from 40 to 65. I am extremely appreciative of this wonderful day of the dragons.

Even though there was no one else where I was, I took full advantage of the time!

I ranked up several Family groups, and ranked up my Oddities 13 levels.

I unlocked 3 Portmanteau, and opened 8 Portkeys.

I timed it so I would hit level 30 during the event. But I was unprepared for ALL the XP today! LOL I only need about 29k to hit level 31.

Thanks to everyone involved in creating this event!!

I expected this event to be good, but that... was... BANANAS! So many dragons! So much XP! So many runestones! I maxed out my Oddities family rank at 65*. It's the first one I've maxed out so far, though I'm pretty close on the Hogwarts School family, which is at 60.

I kept the Brain Elixir going the entire time.

I returned 34 Peruvian Vipertooth at 1250 XP each.

I returned 76 Chinese Fireball also at 1250 XP each.

That, combined with other Foundables, resulted in over 140,000 XP in 3 hours! That's more than I typically earn in a week!

That first return bonus was pretty sweet, too.

The best event yet, by far! I'm tired from being out in the sun, and hungry. Tonight, I still have five 10k portkeys to open, two 5k, and one 2k. I'll pop another brain elixir before doing those, and maybe try out that Trace Detection Tonic while I relax on the couch.

Hope everyone else had a fabulous day! Based on the chatter here and on social media, it sounds like everyone scored big!

Thanks devs! Was a fun experience with all of the dragons swooping around! Met loads of new people, able to level up twice (24-26), and managed to hit a few other rarely seen foundables around here, including the new portraits in the moving staircase! Great job on those btw!

Today was really fun and satisfying. I caught lots of dragons. leveled up and am almost halfway to my next level. I MAXED the level for Oddities at 65, lol, and opened a lovely portkey where I got 14,728 xp!!! I actually stood there stunned! I had read yesterday about some great xp that others received with our extra 25% plus a Baruffio potion, but this was exciting. I also encountered the stair portraits.

I was pleasantly surprised that the dragons weren't traces--not sure why I thought they were given that they are Oddities, but it was still so much nicer knowing they wouldn't run away.

I'm exhausted but what a "productive" day.

    Thanks HPWU, great job!!

Wow, @Minervina19, that's fantastic! Other people have shared their experiences with portkeys awarding in excess of 10k XP, and I'm totally jealous! I'm sure I'll stumble upon one eventually but, until then, it's fun to read other people's stories.

You did great out there @WerewolfChaser! Thanks so much for the tips, by the way. Keeping the Baruffio's active and moving around was all it took to have an amazing day!

Good gosh, @Valorshu! I thought my numbers were impressive, but you knocked it out of the park! Like you, I also leveled up (from 36 to 37) and even made it over halfway toward 38 before the day was over. I still can't get over that!

I think I'll just take it easy today. I'll finish my daily tasks but probably not much else, unless I get bored tonight and decide to wander around a bit.

I live in Wales and obviously come across the Welsh Green Dragon on my travels. If I lived in Asia I assume I’d see the Chinese Fireball. Am I therefore at a disadvantage with regards to the XP gained? My maths says I’m 50% worse off. Is there a trade off in the spawn rate that rectifies this to make it a level playing field globally?

@Dewin99 I'm with you on that. I pondered over it last night. My regional is the Opaleye, same threat as yours. I tagged an admin in another post but have received no reply. I believe they should all have the same threat level which would equalise the XP. The Americas had two emergency dragons so they received double the xp on two dragons, the rest of the world had one dragon at half the XP.

I was wondering why I had so much more XP than the early reports. Simply increasing spawn rate wouldn't have been adequate to create equity IMO because of the increased energy requirements.

I guess this one has to go in the books as life isn't always fair, but I think the long term spawn rate could make up for the difference during regular play. I suspect we won't see our dragon much at all.

@Osprey1 Unfortunately the rest of the world received half the XP for one of the dragons. In Oceania unfortunately, along with Europe miss out on all the glorious XP.

And true, life isn't fair. We have never had a Niantic event and we don't get any sponsors. I'm not sure about this game but I noticed in Pogo when I was in the UK two years ago I thought I was in Pogo heaven. Plenty of stops, gyms and spawns.

We are generally an afterthought which is kind of weird that they offered us beta play.

Although the HP franchise is UK based Niantic and Portkey games are US based.

I guess I should be grateful that our community day is actually in daylight hours. The Pogo times when they changed to 4pm to 7pm before your summer to avoid the heat affected us greatly. It's winter here and dusk is before 5.30pm so half of the community day is played in the dark.

Another thing that has been on my mind lately is spell energy. Yes I know it was increased and my stats show I've earnt about 15% more energy. I had thought but can't find the reasoning, I was of the belief this was to appease rural players.

Given the different inns, rural having the better ones there would not be a significant difference, much less than my increase, in their spell energy gathering as most of the items haven't changed, only an increase in every flavoured beans.

Then take a look at city players. They had a huge boost to their spell energy accumulation. They have gone from 1 spell energy per in to 3.

Did the developers intend to favour city players to this extent? I doubt it. 1 spell energy was always a laughable figure though.

I felt a little guilty that I only needed one or 2 hits to do in the dragons (auror) while my professor partner needed 3-4. But plenty of eps to go around.

I loved the Dragon Day event! I was on vacation in a very tiny town in the middle of nowhere South Carolina. However, once Dragon Day started they were everywhere. So much fun, and loved seeing my sister’s Excitement at getting the dragons. This gave a small taste of how awesome the FanFest was, so I was really excited to see the rest of the community who couldn’t go get a taste of the excitement. The developers did this one right!
