Empty Port Keys

I currently have accumulated 5 unlocked portkeys each of which when I enter go to a railway carriage on the Hogwarts Express. I get the normal instruction of tap 5 WrackSpurts but none appear, even if i look round everywhere and wait. I exit but the key remains in my inventory. I've tried tapping everywhere for invisible wrackspurts, waiting, restarting... Seems to be a bug. The weird thing being if I unlock another and go elsewhere it works fine.....
Any ideas?
Is the railway carriage a strange trick?

you need to look out the window, you will find them there. It's very annoying and they are hard to catch but they are there. turning your phone helps a lot.
Theres a thread about it on the events pg cos when the event started everyone was thinking just the same lol. I finally got rid of my last one of those yesterday. That train carriage was the bane of my life!
People found diff techniques worked for them, they thankfully slowed the train a bit for the 2nd week- first one was faster! But i found tapping continually in a point just to the right of the the bar of the open window worked best. Tapping continually slows it down more too, and somehow- eventually- i got 5.
Im very glad theyve gone though! Good luck, just keep tapping - some people said 1 could take them 30min to do!! Id have thrown my phone before that! 😂
I noticed how they eventually slowed the train down yet the extended space between wrackspurts was enough to give my arms a workout, waiting, waiting, and more waiting. I'm sure they'll have us standing on one leg doing squats if they can figure out how to pull it off. lol And is there anything worse than having your view obstructed when looking out a window?
You have to look out the window and catch them as they go by. Very frustrating! If you can manage to catch at least one, but not all 5, it will clear that portkey out; but you don't get anything for it.
That is not true, @SaraKatrina. It's been verified by several players, including myself, that if you leave after tapping one wrackspurt in any portkey, you will receive all rewards. It's just not easy to notice because you won't see a summary screen with all the rewards. You will notice the changes in XP and/or inventory if you take screenshots before and after though. This is a nice work-around for players who have trouble tapping the wrackspurts on the train. Just tap one, and you're done! I prefer to stay in the portkey and tap them all so I can see the summary screen, but it's nice for players to know it isn't necessary. 😉
@SaraKatrina, @Acumen is right in that if you tap and exit after one wrackspurt, you get the remaining rewards anyway. But as Acumen said, you don’t know what rewards. However, if you exit the game itself, just swipe off the game window or however it works on your device, when you load the game again, there’ll be a dialogue box pop up which will lead you to your portkeys rewards page. Handy. And unlike before, you know for sure that you got the rewards.

You have to look out the window. The wrackspurts will float by occasionally but you have to watch carefully and be quick to click on them.
