Friend getting dragons didn't do all quests

Curious why my friend is getting all dragons today when she didn't do all quests??? I didn't get fill my pages and I'm frustrated when she gets dragons and no one else is??? Also what about items missed in special events...will we ever have another chance to get??? Thank you. I'm greatly frustrated as I went to look for dragons and none!!!.

Nobody should see dragons today. Dragons were only visible to those who attended the Fan Festival in Indianapolis over the weekend. Dragons won't appear for the rest of us until September 7. It will begin with a three-hour event called Day of the Dragons, during which time your region will begin to see your native dragon, plus a visiting dragon from another region. After the three-hour event is over, you will only encounter your native dragon. You can read more details here:

We went to event over weekend too but was just confused why she got and no one else. I'd like have my pages filled too. Will we ever get see all dragons??? Thank you!!!!
Niantic said attendees who checked in but didn't finish could complete the event elsewhere.
Oh, that explains it. I didn't realize they had attended the event until @Anak1n1 clarified.
So they get unlimited dragons and we don't??? That sucks!!!! Why??? I would have been better not finish event right???
No, not unlimited. They just get to complete the quest.
As planned, all witches and wizards in attendance at the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Fan Festival will also be able to complete their Special Assignments from the event after the weekend is over if they couldn’t finish in time during the event hours.

But if they wait around catch all dragons before complete will be unlimited!!! Would have been nice to have known this. I'm very frustrated right now. I didn't even get all my dragon fragments!!!! Thank you!!!
Yes, I finished the Fan Festival assignment before I got all the dragons I needed, and the dragons and eggs disappeared. My kids didn’t finish yet, and they still have dragons and eggs. So frustrating!!
Yes because wouldn't have finished if knew this. Has be a glitch or something. I'm still missing dragons. Ideas on this??? Niantic help us out here!!!! Not right punish ones who finished and reward those who didnt!!!
I had dragons appear Sunday night. I attended the festival with my husband Saturday. We didn't complete the tasks during the festival so we were thrilled!!! We always compete to finish first but as the winner I DEFINITELY LOST. I claimed my final rewards and my dragons vanished!! My husbands screen was still lit up with orange and red oddities (dragons). He now gets to completely prestige both dragon pages because he knows not to claim his final WU Fest rewards until after he has caught all the dragons he needed. I can't even play with him until he has finished because we see different things on our maps. 😭
THE FESTIVAL WAS MAGICAL!!! The location was beautiful. I remember how the first PoGo Fest had a lot of problems, but that was absolutely not the case with the first WU Fest.
