Ooo shiny!!!
Ooo look a shiny red egg that gives a whooping 25% more xp.
Dark Detectors 2x was a much better choice, even half brewing time would be better. But no, people went with 25% more xp.

That means, most ppl (still) believe that higher wizard level makes traces easier to catch.
Relax, i still believe we will get them all....somehow.
Now ....keep walking....
My group chose to go with the green welsh after we were done catching all 4 of each, but we all knew the favorite would be red, haha. Hopefully we still get them all, especially now that red is maxed out for real!
The closest Inn to me is (or is it now "was"?) 1km away in a part of town that isn't nice. Dark detectors, even when I set down three, don't seem to being anything particularly rare. Last time in 30 minutes I didn't get anything rarer than one Frozen hippogryff. The time before that wasn't better. Spending one hour with my phone out for no particular result didn't seem interesting .
I have never bought Dark Detectors, and not being close to a practical Inn, have only seldom used Dark Detectors, but their price is incredibly high, especially if high-level traces are not guaranteed. At the moment, 80 gold coins are 1,09€, while a Dark Detector is 120 coins. If you want to use the supposedly better detecting power of three DDs at once, that is (for a bundle of 3) 325 coins :4,4€.
That is a meal. An actual meal. For half an hour of limited play.
I'll add one thing : this game is supposed to make us walk. This appeared a lot in the various "We need more spell energy" threads.
Dark Detectors (even though they appear as the portable kind on the map), have to be set on Inns, and only influence a small area. To enjoy their effect, you need to stay at the same place during their 30 minutes of operation. This seems counterproductive.
"The traces they reveal can be seen by people that come by" isn't really valid either in places where players seem to find themselves alone.
Why can't we have portable Dark Detectors that we actually carry ? It would seem to make more sense in making us walk, and in making our characters more efficient investigators.
And now we wait for people to realize that ALL Bonuses were unlocked, not "just" the 25% XP Bonus for Challenges
@DubiousAffairs I've heard a rumor that a "detector potion" is in the works...
Would that be the "WideEye" for which various sites had the Master Notes ?
Correct @Lucoire. When things went haywire for a bit on August 22, several new game elements were seen that apparently weren't meant to be deployed yet. Among those were seed packets to grow ingredients for Trace Detection Tonic, @DubiousAffairs. Can't say for certain when it'll go live, but there's good reason to believe it will eventually.
I barely use my DD’s, I have about 40 of them currently just sitting in my vault. I wouldn’t say that was the better option/reward. And no, I didn’t go after the shiny red one either.
@Acumen Yes, a reddit user posted some data mining and found that they plan to release the Trace Detection Tonic and I believe a free potion vault extension concurrently. Obviously that’s not confirmable, but I was excited to see it nonetheless.
