Lackluster day
Did anyone else feel like there weren’t a lot of Foundables around today? I didn’t have a weather update saying that threats had been nerfed or anything. But it seemed like the game was really struggling at a lot of points with recognizing I had been walking and I kept experiencing terrible lag. I used a dark detector on top of another person’s that was at an inn and didn’t have a single high level threat appear the whole time it was being used. I had a few ubiquitous normal low-medium level threats show up with the dark detector ring under them as if they were somehow higher level.
Game overall seems extremely glitchy right now and I really hope that this is all figured out before Fan Festival for the people who spent money on travel arrangements. When the update first came out things were working fine, but it’s clear there are a lot of issues. I am hopeful that time will be spent trying to fix these immediate gameplay issues which should be prioritized over things like releasing the new oddity pages days in advance of the event.
I love all the thoughtful updates that have come from user suggestions in the forums like the fragment counter, removal of the confirmation to flee, increased spawns of Young Ginny and other rare Foundables, and the ability to actually keep the ingredient rewards from portkeys even if you’re at capacity, etc
That being said, please keep listening to our concerns and working to address the big gameplay issues when they come up. Thanks devs and mods for all your hard work! ❤️

I had a lot of foundables but 99% of them were commons that I already have full in my registry. I did get quite a few brilliant sorting hats but the amount of energy it took to get those fragments ate through my cache pretty quickly. But I did manage to get over half way to goal.
@Craeft Yeah I guess it just seemed that way because there was nothing I wanted to even bother using spell energy on. I kept experiencing the same Foundables everywhere I went. I probably see 1 Umbrella for every 20 Weasley clocks/ Quill of Acceptance as it is on a typical day. But today just felt like NOTHING remotely rare or high threat level was coming at any point. I walked enough to open 3 portkeys (including a 10K) so I expected to at least have a few encounters I was excited about. When I finally gave up and went home, I found a Sirius Black waiting at my place. But that’s the only foundable I saw that I wanted to return pretty much all day.
It may have just been bad luck but today is the first time I’ve felt like it was this bad. Hopefully it was just a me problem 🤷🏼♀️
I have to admit though, I did see a couple high and severe banners on my way home from work (I have my game open on my way home but don't play - just to glance to see what's out there). Honestly, I didn't really have much opportunity to actively go out and play lately so my input on this might be the least accurate you can find.
Well that’s good to hear! Maybe today just wasn’t my day. I was concerned that they might be nerfing other spawns to focus everyone on the brilliant event/ create excitement for fan fest. Glad to hear you had better luck than I did. Tomorrow’s a new day!
Good to hear that I haven't been able to actively play? Your love hurts, Hermione. Your love hurts. 😋
I have to work tomorrow but I have Friday and Saturday off. I don't trust my car to get me to fortresses and whatnot, but I might try to head out and be a little more active over those couple days. Sunday, they don't have me scheduled until 4pm so we'll see what damage I can do until then too. hehehe
@Craeft HA no I meant good to hear that you had those higher threats pop up! 😅 Should’ve made that clear.
I did notice you were a little absent from the forums for a while there and you were certainly missed. But happy to hear that you’re working and life is keeping you busy! I had a very strange phone interview for a job today myself so maybe I’ll have something to celebrate in the coming weeks too. I hope you’ll be able to fit some HPWU in despite the busy schedule!
I wish you the best of luck on that job. I've been unemployed since November. I was working political campaigns but it's unstable (as the job only lasts until an election) so because of my multiple number of jobs in the past 3 years and the time between some of them, no one wanted to hire me because, frankly, employers use algorithms and they're too f*(k1N6 stupid to think for themselves or actually TALK to a candidate (yes... I'm VERY bitter about the way the system is set up) so I couldn't get work. Amazingly, when I heard of a job fair happening for Kroger, I went in and got to actually TALK to someone and... what'd'ya know... they hired me. I've only been there 2 weeks and am already in the top 99 percentile so I have a few choice words for the _______s who turned me down. LOL
So... with all that said, I think this is the point of that mini-rant... keep your chin up and get that gig. And if you don't, then they weren't worth it because they didn't value you enough to give you the time. - I do miss campaigning though. And not standing for 8 hours. And... [trails off into some dreamy interpretive internal soliloquy]...
But yes... HPWU... It's gonna be getting cold here soon so I won't be able to take walks for play time but will try to be active as I can. Just need to get my car fixed first. Should hopefully be able to do that soon. But that leads me to another mini-rant that I need to go spend time with.
TL;DR - Good luck with the job! Job searching is horrible. HPWU is awesome. I miss it. The end.
I saw Buckbeak at Taco Bell this evening and was like, "Dude, Buckbeak, I had no idea you like chicken quesadillas too!"
I know, Taco Bell is horrible. I'm not even sure if it's actual food., but my son was playing D&D with his friends at the local game shop, and I didn't feel like making anything for myself at home.
What were we talking about? Man, it doesn't take much for me to end up way off point. Anyway, yeah, Buckbeak was it for me today. Other than that, it did seem pretty slow as far as Foundables go. I didn't even have any items drop. No galleons, no potions, no keys... nothing. It felt slow, and I just figured it was because of the Brilliant event.
I get why these events last a full week. People with hectic schedules or other limitations struggle to get all the tasks done even in that amount of time. Still, I wish there was a way to flip a switch and turn the Brilliant Foundables off once you've completed everything.

ROFLMAO! Holy H--L! I needed that!
I despise Taco Bell but you can't play D&D without Taco Bell (and Waffles - See also: The Gamers).
Agreed! Slow day. I feel like I didn’t play as much today either, so that could be part of it. I had a coin and potion drop today, and got a few dirigible plums, which they are usually really rare for me. But nothing really to write home about. Drove hubby down to the good fortress to complete our daily tasks, just did one, and thought maybe we’ll go for a drive until we see a red or orange beam. Or get too tired, it was already pretty late. Took a while! Usual hot spots didn’t deliver. So drove to campus and finally hubby said we had an orange beam. Sure enough, philosophers stone. We both got it (yay), then drove home. It seems like this happens occasionally tho. Sometimes it’s like this, and sometimes it feels like Christmas.
@Dogoutlaw
I've had some disappointing days with this game, but I think comparing it to Christmas is a bit extreme. :-P
@Craeft lol not a fan of Christmas huh?! I’ll be sure to let you know when I have a Christmas miracle in the game!
