Yes, it's half an hour, and the only time I was ever around to harvest something, it spawned near the greenhouse rather than in it (I was on the growing page when the counter ticked over & it told me to exit the greenhouse and look for the ingredient on the map.)
I feel like I was at a greenhouse for toadstool right when it was ready to harvest and it said an hour. Might be specific for that plant. We also had maximized it's yield not sure if that matters.

I just plant stuff at a greenhouse HOPING someone will be there to pick it up. I just don't have the time throughout the day to go back and be there at the time something spawns.
Barbie1978 - Don't worry, nobody else is taking your stuff. As I understand it, it's available for everyone in that area to harvest for half an hour & then it's gone. So, if someone else takes it, it should still be there for you. :o)
@firenightingale is correct, @barbie1978. anyone who is there when the grow timer finishes can harvest. It shows up individually for everyone for 30 minutes. I have had to restart the game for things to actually show up but my wife and I always both get the full amount.
It strikes me that 30 minutes is ridiculously short unless someone lives/works conveniently next to one of the greenhouses, such that they are typically around it the same time each day. For those without that luxury and have schedules too busy to hit the same location at the same time on the daily, these features seem rather worthless.
sadly it doesnt matter how they go about some things, niantic will never be able to cater to everyone 😥 the only way to fix the issue of being there within 30 minutes is to have it stay there like the pot plants until you come along and grab it, but that could affect anyone trying to plant or would mean multiple instances of the same greenhouse which would mean alot of strain on the game in very busy areas (or at least id imagine it probably would). alternatively they could do a "delivery by owl/s once its grown to simulate a thematically appropriate delivery of goods 🤔
Ingredients stay on the floor for 1 hour after the grow timer expires. They have updated the help menu in the game which you can access yourself by going to settings > help/legal > get support
I’m commuting by train at the moment. Noticed some toadstools( 24 hrs) at a station this morning that had 23 hours to go. Guess who’s going to get the early train tomorrow?!
I wondered why it kept showing a greenhose with something growing id not planted! I was expect it only show my growing lol, and why mine was never there when i went back!! Thsnks 4 explaining guys, il set sn alarm now 4 the greenhouse at corner of my road 😀
I find the 7 hour timer on most plants annoying. It prevents you from being able to plant something before bedtime and then harvest in the morning, or plant something on the way to work and then harvest as you're headed home. Of course I rarely get enough sleep but it's still very difficult with that 30 minute window.

and there’s some other wizard who lives in my neighbourhood who keeps taking my stuff so if I’m not there the minute it stops growing, I lose out.

The half hour window makes any of the longer than an hour ones kind of useless unless you have a greenhouse nearby.

@Friswith The Leaping Toadstool Spore take 24 hours to grow so you saw it 2 hours after it was planted.
