You must be new. This is how they handle any issue. They cause issues, don't correct them, then give a poor excuse for a gift.

Next come when they finally get around to fixing Wayfarer syncing (that has been broken for over four months [fixed for one week, then re-broke in April]). They may give another gift, when they finally get around to fixing that, since in essence, syncing to the Wayfarer database is the core of the game... and it has been broke for so long. Since it is such a huge bug, I expect that their gift will include something useless, like a single Extimulo potion.
im 2nd year ingress, so I put many years into niantic while they were still part of google. Back then they were focused on the community, that focus has shifted to profit at any cost. I have supported them monetarily over time, but nothing major. My time is and was a valuable commodity, and they used it to populate their framework with portals and my only compensation was the joy of seeing my new found location on the scanner.
I usually don’t post much on the wizards boards, but lately have been paying attention.
the fragment-gate wasn’t important, I didn’t care because it was a side effect of a change. I didn’t know about it beforehand so I didn’t lament their loss. However the SOS system was a new feature that had documentation spelling out what things did, just like the skill tree. I chose my path carefully, after my initial error in thinking my inn would be important, I switched to focusing my time on the trace charm. A month after the fact, after extending the rare resources for that oath, and a considerable amount of my VALUABLE time, they decided it was too powerful and created a lie to correct their mistake. That’s unconscionable and in effect is a classic bait and switch scheme. Had they been up front and explained their mistake or misjudgment and handled it appropriately, We wouldn’t be at this point. The least they could have done was listen, but here we are.
anyway rant over, exploring my options, this isn’t over by a long shot
They literally just drove off a cliff.. totally destroyed any reason to use the trac3 charm or invest time in the SoS tree.. I’d love my green books back, I was saving them for the next tier of my profession., but alas it’s over for me..
